There was a very bad car accident yesterday not that far from where I live…
An 88-year-old man has been killed following a two-car collision on the Newry bypass. The man died shortly before 10.30am on Thursday following an accident between two cars at the Moneymore junction close to Newry. The occupants of the second car, a 34-year-old woman, a 40-year-old man and a five-week-old baby girl, were taken to hospital for assessment. A contraflow system was in place on the A1 close to the scene of the crash.
Now, the media seem to skirt around one key aspect of this. The man who was killed whilst driving along this fast carriageway was 88 YEARS OLD. I don’t want to go into the specifics of this case for obvious reasons BUT one has to ask if it is really sensible to allow those approaching 90 years to be driving on our fast and dangerous roads. The danger does not just lie with them but also with those that they encounter
Sarah Palin goes on the offence with a new website..
“TakeBackthe20.com provides information about the candidates in these 20 districts who are committed to repealing and replacing Obamacare. It has links to their personal websites and their donation pages. It allows you to read up on them, and then support them in their race to defeat those who gave us this terrible bill.
We have to send Washington a message that it’s not acceptable to disregard the will of the people. We have to tell them enough is enough. No more defying the Constitution. No more driving us off a financial cliff. We must repeal and replace Obamacare with patient-centered, results-driven, free market reform that provides solutions to people of all income levels without bankrupting our country.
A new poll has Republican Carl Paladino within striking distance of Democrat Andrew Cuomo as voters say they want to elect someone who will stop the circus in Albany. Wednesday was supposed to be Cuomo’s day as he picked up the endorsement of New York City’s notoriously independent mayor, Michael Bloomberg, in the race for governor. But a new poll changed that because it turned Cuomo’s once comfortable front-runner status on its head.
Only six points separate Cuomo and Paladino in the Quinnipiac University poll. Cuomo now leads 49-43, with a plus or minus error of 3.6.
But for all his actions as the state’s chief law enforcement officer, Cuomo did have a little problem with telling the truth about his election box support for Mayor Bloomberg.
“Have I voted for the mayor? Yes,” Cuomo said.
Actually, he didn’t. The Cuomo campaign had to issue a clarification, saying he was only registered to vote in New York City in 2005 when he endorsed Democrat Fernando Ferrer.
“The US and other Western delegations at the 65th UN General Assembly have walked out in protest at the speech of the Iranian president. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said some saw the 11 September attacks on the US as part of a US conspiracy to protect Israel.
He was speaking on the first day of the week-long UN diplomatic marathon at its New York headquarters. The United States swiftly denounced Mr Ahmadinejad’s references to the 2001 attacks as “abhorrent and delusional”. The US delegation was joined in its walk-out by representatives from some 32 other nations – including all the EU countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Costa Rica. But Mr Ahmadinejad appeared undaunted by the protest, continuing his attack on Zionism and Israel.
Earlier, at the UN, Obama had once again suggested more nuanced diplomacy.
Not working out too well, eh? There is no debate with those grotesque tyranny and the longer the West indulges the fantasy that it can persuade Iran to change course the greater the danger. Iran cares NOTHING for the EU, for Obama and other free democracies. He has a zeal to destroy Israel and to finish what Hitler started. He simply MUST be stopped.
Asked about the euro, Lord Leach replied, “I’m not against European cooperation…A complete free trade area would be perfect, that brings about prosperity. But a monetary union is also a political union and there it goes wrong. The European system of supranationality comes at the cost of democracy.”
He added, “More and more Europeans are starting to express their dissatisfaction with their lack of influence on European decision making. One of the most important examples is Germany. A considerable part of the population didn’t think it a good idea that Germany rescued Greece.”
When asked about the future of monetary union, Lord Leach said, “Politicians must understand that this isn’t a temporary crisis, but a permanent problem. It is no banking or debt crisis, but a problem of competitiveness. The South of Europe is too far behind on the North and will never be able, within one monetary union, to close the gap…I can not think of any satisfactory solution which does not lead to a breaking up of the eurozone as it is now. That could however be either controlled or uncontrolled. Controlled means that vulnerable countries would be led to the exit…An uncontrolled exit means that financial markets force a break-up.”
Irish politicians should listen up. They either save the Republic of Ireland and junk the Euro or their country will end up as junk and the Euro is saved.
Scotland Yard released six street sweepers who had been detained in an alleged plot against the Pope that now has been determined to be no credible threat. Apparently a tasteless joke in the sweepers’ cafeteria (a tasteless venue no doubt) when combined with the gentlemens’ ethnic background triggered the overreaction (both by the police and on internet blogs).
In related news Scotland Yard has not released 6 Chimney Sweeps found dancing and singing Chim Chim Cher-ee on London Rooftops. According to their leader, a man named Bert, they were not followers of Osama Bin Laden but rather an unidentified nanny code-named Mary Poppins, who herself managed to escape the metropolitan police by flying away in a strong wind. Security forces are concerned as the men may be in a terrorist cell with contacts with ex-military including Admiral Boom who has been known to fire a cannon from his home to mark the changing of the hour.
The Head of Scotland Yard, bristling with anger insisted that none of the sweeping plots would be swept under the rug. The Vatican has remained silent on the plots, a reminder of their prior reaction to the child abuse scandal.
Did you read that The Seattle cartoonist whose artwork sparked the controversial “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day!” has gone into hiding at the advice of the FBI after being targeted by a radical Muslim cleric, according to the newspaper that published her comics?
Molly Norris has moved and changed her name, the Seattle Weekly said Wednesday, after U.S.-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Awlaki placed her on an execution hit list. Awlaki — who has been linked to the botched Times Square bombing and cited as inspiration for the Fort Hood massacre and a plot by two New Jersey men to kill U.S. soldiers — reportedly called Norris a “prime target” for assassination and that her “proper abode is hellfire.”
“You may have noticed that Molly Norris’ comic is not in the paper this week,” Seattle Weekly Editor in Chief Mark Fefer wrote Wednesday. “That’s because there is no more Molly.”
This is the threat we face. If one DARES attack Islam then the death threats follow and silence ensues. Those liberals who come here and drone on about how “we” heap vitriol on Islam might want to have a long look at the line “That’s because there is no more Molly”. Islam does not tolerate offence, instead it stamps it out secure that gutless western liberals will cheer-lead as our freedom of expression is extinguished.
Here's one for butt hurt weeping Remainers. Out means Out. Got that?
THE PRICE OF REWARDING TERRORISM
You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.
