What I cannot figure is what a Muslim woman, veiled or not, is doing sitting in an audience watching and listening to an Opera whose story-line is that of a young man’s infatuation for a prostitute, that same prostitute’s high-living, the intrusion of the lover’s father into the affair; and the acceptance by the prostitute of the father’s heartfelt plea that she breaks with the young man, dying though she may be, and head off back to the sinful life of Paris, and away from the young man’s cash!

I agree that the draw is the superb music, and the wonderul singing, but surely a good Muslim woman should shun these terrible signs of depraved Western life, and get back to her kitchen, and her fifteen jihadi-in-training children; and once more be totally subservient to her husband; while he gets to do exactly what he wishes!

and it is with you still!

So, you are a practicing member of the Jedi faith, and as everyone knows, the very thought of being near high-strength adhesives, impact glue and other sticky materials is anathema to your very existence. This is because the ‘Force’ rules everything, and if something refuses to stay put on a wall, or a bookshelf fails, the ruling is that because the ‘Force’ did not allow the shelf to exist, or the mirror to be hung from a bracket stuck to the wall in the first place, they should not continue, or something like that.

Your work, strangely enough, is at Home Depot, Corner Hardware, B&Q, or even Homebase; so in pursuit of your religious rights and freedoms, you state that you will not sell any adhesives whatsoever to any customer.

So should the management be suprised when reading headlines like this?

all the usual suspects, stand here!

Tommy Robinson, the leader of the EDL, has robustly denied that the attack on muslims in a Birmingham mosque was planned, formulated and carried out by an EDL supporter.

He stated that although the EDL had members of Somali origin, violence against members of the Religion of Peace was not supported by his organisation; and any allegations to the contrary would be followed by legal action!

Obama Stimulating Rush!

By ATWadmin On March 6th, 2009 at 7:10 pm

According to Rush Limbaugh, results  for the Limbaugh radio syndication (aptly named Excellence In Broadcasting) indicate that Rush’s ratings are through the roof! Hats off to Obama for this unprecedented success!

“The latest numbers I have are for January, well before this kerfuffle began, and they are through the roof — six shares in NY, for example. There are daily ratings taken now in about the top 15 markets but I have not seen them yet. All I can tell you is that as of January, we booked 80 percent of all our 2008 revenue and we’ll be over 2008 by the end of this month.”

Oh The Irony

By ATWadmin On November 13th, 2007 at 8:13 am

Funny isn’t it. Here we have had decades of hand-wringing and agonising, (dreadful) songs of protest, literally weeks (months?) of primetime TV in the form of docudramas and news items, and millions of pounds of taxpayers money wasted on bogus enquiries designed to bash one side and exonerate the other – because soldiers fired into a crowd of protesters they claimed they were fired on from first.

Meanwhile in Gaza, its just another day being shot at on the march for the plucky supporters of the ‘secular faction’ (!) of Fatah – and the hand-wringing and agonising, (dreadful) songs of protest etc are nowhere to be found anywhere in the western media or amongst our own (bless ’em) Liberal activists.

Isn’t life ironic.

Not embracing diversity

By ATWadmin On October 6th, 2007 at 7:14 pm

"It does not matter how friendly they are. If [they] are in the majority, it’s different. It’s not what we came here for. It’s not where we want to live out the rest of our lives."

Residents of a gay retirement community in America are worried the special ambiance of their “private oasis” could be ruined by an influx of straight people.

RainbowVision, billed as the “first community of its kind”, opened last year in the New Mexico desert offering resort-style comforts and promising its mainly gay and lesbian retirees “the experience of people being together and sharing in the same values”.

But now a glut of empty properties is prompting fears the community’s composition, which is currently 80 per cent gay, could alter dramatically.

Roughly half the 120 units are up for rent or for sale and some worry that the depressed property market will mean owners seeking to offload their homes will sell or let to whoever they can, regardless of sexual orientation.

And they are completely free to do so as New Mexico outlaws any housing discrimination based on sexuality.

It is a concern for some of the residents who say they have spent their working lives “closeted” and do not want their new-found freedom compromised.

“It does not matter how friendly they are,” Roger Bergstrom, 77, a retired school teacher who shares a RainbowVision condo with partner Barry Baltzley, 57, told the Los Angeles Times.

“If straight people are in the majority, it’s different. It’s not what we came here for. It’s not where we want to live out the rest of our lives.”

Interesting. The residents of RainbowVision appear to prefer to live alongside people with whom they have certain things (lifestyle, cultural and moral values, etc) in common. One wonders whether they are, therefore, wicked intolerant bigots, guilty of the sin of refusing to embrace and celebrate diversity? After all, that is the label often applied to those of us who object to the flooding of our country with people (particularly Muslims) whose lifestyle and cultural and moral values are completely alien to us.

Historians: Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Was Overreaction

By ATWadmin On September 5th, 2007 at 5:33 pm

By Red Square over at The People’s Cube:

Europe ‘s view of the present Israeli offensive against Hezbollah as an "overreaction" and "disproportionate use of force" is rooted in relatively recent history, say progressive researchers. In 1943, Europe itself suffered from a similar Jewish overreaction to some controversial German policies, in an event known as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, when Zionist radicals attacked the National Socialist German Workers Party that was loved by the German people for its far-reaching educational and social welfare services.

In fact, many academics who teach Peace Studies at prestigious universities believe that it was the Zionists’ "disproportionate use of force" that had ruined hopes for peace in Europe and caused a humanitarian crisis that could have easily be avoided if only Jews had shown restraint and tolerance towards the democratically elected German government.“Being a chemist.
