question.jpgJust clicked on this really important news release from the Tennessee Department of Correction which advises all those visitors to inmates that the wearing of bust-enhancing water brassieres and/or thongs is not allowed, and any infringements will result in the visitor being turned away.

Now just a couple of things sprang to mind once I read this; and they are as follows:-

How does the guard actually check if the visitor is wearing a thong? Or in fact a water brassiere? That would be a really good thing to feature in, say, the Guide to Corrections Staff training video!

Visiting time in Tennessee prisons must really be fun-filled occasions!

I didn’t want to let the collapse of the bridge over the Mississippi go without comment. What a terrible event and I am so sorry for those who were caught up in this tragedy. I can think of no more horrible fate than to be driving your car home and then suddenly be flung into the watery depths. Terrifying. But sometimes these things just happen, awful thought they are. Worryingly, however, the bridge was only forty years old.  I noticd that the bridge only scored 50 out of 100 on a scale given by structural engineers, which makes me wonder why drastic action was not taken, given the amount of traffic driven across that bridge.

US conservative writer Thomas Sowell sums it up well. Is America about to become the new France?

By this he refers to the fact that back in the 1930s, the governments of the democratic countries knew what Hitler was doing — and they knew that they had enough military superiority at that point to stop his military buildup in its tracks. But they did nothing to stop him. Instead, they turned to what is still the magic mantra today — "negotiations."  At one point, Hitler could have been stopped in his tracks "without the firing of a single shot," Churchill said. That point came in 1936 — three years before World War II began — when Hitler sent troops into the Rhineland, in violation of two international treaties. At that point, France alone was so much more powerful than Germany that the German generals had secret orders to retreat immediately at the first sign of French intervention. As Hitler himself confided, the Germans would have had to retreat "with our tail between our legs," because they did not yet have enough military force to put up even a token resistance. Why did the French not act and spare themselves and the world the years of horror that Hitler’s aggressions would bring? The French had the means but not the will.

Sowell pointedly reminds us that we KNOW that Iran is moving towards gaining nukes. He points out that the UN will do nothing to stop this, just as the League of Nations did nothing to stop Hitler. As he concludes, Iranian leaders won’t stop until they are stopped. The US has the might to stop them – but has it the will? And if not, is history about to repeat itself? We either take out the Iranian nuclear facilities now or wait until we become embroiled in a nuclear stand-off with the mad mullahs. Which is the lesser evil? Remember the lessons of history.

Everyone knows that those poor people interned by the Great Satan at Guantanamo Bay are innocents whose only crime was to have been caught up in the middle of battle zones into which they accidentally strayed whilst dispensing humanitarian need. So, comes the news that at least 30 former Guantanamo Bay detainees have been killed or recaptured after taking up arms against allied forces following their release.

Commander Jeffrey Gordon said the detainees had, while in custody, falsely claimed to be farmers, truck drivers, cooks, small-arms merchants, low-level combatants or had offered other false explanations for being in Afghanistan. "We are aware of dozens of cases where they have returned to militant activities, participated in anti-US propaganda or engaged in other activities," said Commander Gordon.

How many people have lost their lives care of the terrorism practised by the scum released from Guantanamo? Will Amnesty International be calling for an enquiry as to WHY these killers got out? Of course not. It is an article of faith amongst the political left, and the MSM, that Guantanamo Bay is evil. The truth is that is is the INMATES at Guantanamo who are evil and the left are hell-bent to get them released. Says it all.

This story caught my eye.

Seems like "Don’t drink the water" is a warning doctors and public health officials typically give travelers going overseas. But lately some environmentalists and city officials have been saying the same thing. Only this time they’re trying to prevent American consumers from drinking bottled water. Their reasoning? The energy used to package and transport imported bottled water contributes to global warming. If environmentalist groups have their way, grocery shelves will no longer carry popular products like Fiji from the South Pacific island and Evian from France.

Companies like Fiji and Evian emphasize the cleanliness and purity of their water. Fiji says its water comes from a source "far from pollution" and is "designed to prevent any possibility of human contact." Evian’s spring water comes from the French Alps. You would think this water ought to be an environmentalist’s dream. Instead, their bottles provoke nightmares. Allen Hershkowitz of the Natural Resources Defense Council says, "It’s ironic that on some of the labels of the bottles, you see snow-capped mountains and glaciers when in fact the production of the bottle is contributing to global warming, which is melting those snowcaps and those glaciers."

So, au revoir Evian, but the cult of global warming has you squarely in its cross-hairs. Eau well!

obama.jpgHey, isn’t Democrat Presidential Barack Obama quite the guy! I see that he has offered to meet without precondition with leaders of renegade nations such as Cuba, North Orea and Iran so touching off a war of words, with rival Hillary Clinton who has called  him naive and Obama linking her to President Bush’s diplomacy. Older politicians in both parties questioned the wisdom of such a course, while Obama’s supporters characterized it as a repudiation of Bush policies of refusing to engage with certain adversaries.

So Obama just wants to meet and talk to every tyrant on the planet this week. Last week he wanted to provide "appropriate" sex education to those in the kindergarten. Lord knows what he’ll suggest next week, but here’s my best three guesses.

1. Abolish all border controls – you gotta love your neighbour and let them move into your house if they want.

2. Embrace global warming alarmism by crucifying the US economy.  You gotta be a good green citizen.

3. Invite Al Queda to the White House. Remember, a stranger is just a friend you haven’t yet met.

Honouring Terrorists

By ATWadmin On July 21st, 2007 at 3:33 pm

How perfectly revolting of them.  Another branch of the Ancient Order of Scumbags Hibernians in the United States has decided to name a club after morally diseased  terrorist and former IRA Chief of Staff, Joe Cahill, the only man who ever made the rest of us thank the Lord for the invention of asbestos.  Division 10 of the society, based in Trenton, New Jersey was formed seven days ago and named after Cahill in the words of Plastic Paddy Delusional Supremo, Michael Redmond, because:

‘Naming a division [of the AOH] after Joe Cahill sends a message that we want the past recognised, and the contribution of the republican community to be recognised, and not marginalised.’

Don’t suppose there is any chance of the AOH naming a division after Patrick Murphy, the Catholic RUC officer who was killed when Cahill’s gang opened fire on him?  Didn’t think so.  However, much I detest Al Queda, I would love to be a witness to an Englishman who visited this ‘division’ wearing the hat pictured above.  Might finally make these Plastic crackpots realise that lionising terrorist scum is despicable no matter which organisation they belong to.

I’m sorry but I just think it is entirely inappropriate to be teaching "sex education" to young kids. It’s worse than that, it’s depraved. And yet, as this link shows, that is EXACTLY what is what Democrat Presidential wannabe Barack Obama wants to see in American class-rooms, including the kindergarten.  Of course he caveats it all by saying it has to be "age appropriate" – but can someone tell me what part of sex education is appropriate for a five year old? Can’t they leave the age of innocence alone? It is for parents, not the State, to take responsibility for these issues and I see no reason WHY sex education has to havee any role in the early years. Do you agree?

Sorry to hear that someone has been killed and at least 20 others injured when a steam pipe exploded underneath a street in central New York during the evening rush hour. The explosion in midtown Manhattan sent clouds of steam, mud and rocks into the air and forced the evacuation of nearby streets and Grand Central Station. Millions of pounds of steam are pumped beneath the streets of New York to help heat and cool thousands of buildings. The 83-year-old pipe exploded sending people running from the scene as steam billowed up from the ground. A witness described it "like a volcano erupting" in the middle of the city. I’m sure it was a nightmare for anyone caught up in it – trust our New York readers all all OK.

NYHEATING.jpgThe heating system that underpins New York City is a marvel, and those issues of steam that can be seen coming from the avenues and streets are a wonder to behold! It’s hard to imagine that such a fantastic and complex system was conceived back in the 1880’s by Birdshill Holly and that New York Steam’s first central steam boiler plant, located at Cortlandt, Dey, Greenwich, and Washington Streets, was completed way back in 1881 and included 48 boilers and a 225-foot chimney — at the time, it was one of the tallest features of the lower New York skyline, second only to the spire of Trinity Church. The district steam installation was so novel it was the cover story of the November 19, 1881 issue of Scientific American!

I suppose 83 year old pipes cannot be relied upon and I wonder what the programme is to make sure that the ageing physical infrastructure is modernised?

Did you read that America’s first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks?

Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler’s later seizure of emergency powers. "It’s almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted."

So, rather than just accept that it WAS Muslims who planned and executed the events of 9/11. Muslim congressman Ellison prefers to blame Bush and accept the plaudist from the atheists.
