Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister told the US Congress on Tuesday that Israel will never give up its quest for peace and was ready to make

Wonderful speech from Netanyahu to Congress, you can read it all here. I thought this a fair summary.

“Bibi Netanyahu did several critical things: demonstrated that he and members of Congress from both parties are entirely in sync; refocused the world on Iran; publicly stated he would give up land considered by Jews to be part of their historic homeland; left no doubt that the Palestinians’ refusal to recognize a Jewish state is the sole reason there is no Palestinian state; and implicitly made a mockery of President Obama’s fixation on settlements.”

Remember the six little words that Abbas must say.  “I will accept a Jewish State”

Well? What’s keeping him?

When A Keystone Canary Sings

By Patrick Van Roy On May 24th, 2011 at 6:57 pm

When A Keystone Canary Sings, you should listen. I come from the Keystone State, it’s the most beautiful and varied state in the U.S.

Pennsylvania is where everything started for this country, we are the Nations Keystone. My state offers everything you could want, we have Coal, Lumber, Agriculture, Dairy, Oil, A Large Port, Railroad and Steel, hell we even have a Diamond Mine. We have a long History of not only Industrial Diversity, but human diversity. From the Amish to the Industrialist, and every group in between. Pennsylvania was the End of the Line and the Goal of Freedom of the Underground Railroad.

All Freedom and the hard work to earn it began in Philadelphia. The State has produced every kind of industry and every type of person that is needed to do the hard work to lead a good Free Life. The hardest workers in my State delve deep into the Earth for that rich black rock Coal. It’s hard and dangerous work. In the early days of Mining in my state there were a lot of explosions and fires.  Gas would build in the mines and being that it was orderless and colorless you knew the danger was building but if you didn’t pay attention you would die. Many lives were lost. One mine that exploded and caught fire has been burning for over 60yrs and will burn for hundreds more.

To save the lives of our miners we gave them Keystone Canaries, strong song birds to hang in the mines. The birds would sing all day and night, if the birds stopped singing you were dead. Some miners liked the birds, and always listened to them, others would get annoyed at constantly hearing them, so they shut them out. Since they would ignore the birds they wouldn’t notice that the danger had reached an explosive level and because you didn’t listen when they sung you didn’t notice when they died, that’s when what killed them kills you.

Much like the Jews and the Arabs don’t you think? The Jews are the Canaries in the Coal Mine of the Middle East, and a lot of people get annoyed hearing them sing, constantly over and over about the holocaust and evil in the world. Just like the canary they are ignored and shut out, and just like in the mine once they are killed by the danger it to will be to late for the rest of us.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a Keystone Canary, who a person is is formed in their teenage years. The environment you are raised in influences you to be the person you are as an adult. Bibi spent those years in Philly, and the mark of those days shine in him today. He is steadfast, loyal, straight talking and hard as Pennsylvania Steel.

Truly one the greatest politicians of our day. Today he sung before a joint session of our government, both houses of Congress and the Administrative Branch. HERE is the speech he gave. What he said needs to heard, less we all wind up dead in an explosion.

Troll has touched on Obama’s latest speech and I wanted to add my own alarm.  To my mind, reading his words, Obama has made a substantive step-change in emotion towards how the USA views Israel. The clue lies in the words he deployed and I found this a decent summary of their meaning;

” But the point for the general audience isn’t what Obama endorsed, it’s the language he used. No president has ever said the words “antagonism toward Israel” in a policy speech, nor have US presidents spoken of the “‘Palestinians’ suffering under occupation” by Israel.

What this will sound like to most people is that Obama took a position on one of the key points to be negotiated, meaning that the US has taken a giant step away from acting as a comparatively neutral mediator. There is a big difference between accepting an Israeli negotiating position, and announcing that the US will tolerate only that specific negotiating position.

Bush referred to ‘Palestinian suffering’ and so did Clinton. But neither of them spoke of the Palestinians suffering “the humiliation of occupation by Israel.” Neither Bush nor Clinton targeted Israel as the source of ‘Palestinian’ suffering or humiliation. Obama explicitly did.

Obama is not a friend of Israel, I think that has been clear since he came to power. He will triangulate and now try to reassure but Netanyahu has already come out and strongly dismissed Obama’s directive. I very much doubt that there will be any progress on this issue between now and the 2012 US election but Obama is playing his own long game on this and I am sure many Israelis will wake up this morning and wonder at the man in the White House who wants to see their Nation dissected.

President Hussein

By Patrick Van Roy On May 19th, 2011 at 10:55 pm

The Terrorist Sympathizer in Chief today removed any doubt that he is a betrayer of American Standards, a Betrayer of American Allies, and willing to support terrorism, rather than the security of the United States, and her Allies.

In his Speech on Mideast Policy today President Hussein showed his allegiance to the enemies of the United States, and her Allies. He started with this:

That story of self-determination began six months ago in Tunisia.  On December 17th, a young vendor named Mohammed Bouazizi was devastated when a police officer confiscated his cart.  This was not unique.  It’s the same kind of humiliation that takes place every day in many parts of the world -– the relentless tyranny of governments that deny their citizens dignity.  Only this time, something different happened.  After local officials refused to hear his complaints, this young man, who had never been particularly active in politics, went to the headquarters of the provincial government, doused himself in fuel, and lit himself on fire.

In this statement he glorifies the act of martyrdom. He elevated self immolation to the equality of the actions of “the defiance of those patriots in Boston who refused to pay taxes to a King, or the dignity of Rosa Parks as she sat courageously in her seat.” In doing so he is giving the Green Light to Martyrdom as a Noble act for righteousness.

Never mind that he has wrongly interpreted the fires burning in the Middle East as a cry for Democracy rather than the organized turmoil financed, backed, and supported by Iran to create the chaos that it is. He has emboldened the act of Martyrdom.

He shows what can no longer be labeled as ignorance, or naivete, but as a willing betrayer of the beliefs and wishes of the American people. With this statement:

The United States supports a set of universal rights.  And these rights include free speech, the freedom of peaceful assembly, the freedom of religion, equality for men and women under the rule of law, and the right to choose your own leaders  -– whether you live in Baghdad or Damascus, Sanaa or Tehran.

He say’s this as Christians are attacked and killed in Egypt, as Israel is attacked on a daily basis, and as women are beat down and forced into submission.  He said this:

Let’s remember that the first peaceful protests in the region were in the streets of Tehran, where the government brutalized women and men, and threw innocent people into jail.  We still hear the chants echo from the rooftops of Tehran.  The image of a young woman dying in the streets is still seared in our memory.  And we will continue to insist that the Iranian people deserve their universal rights, and a government that does not smother their aspirations.

Yet when those events took place he was silent. Now he proposes to take American Taxpayer money to fund the very nations that wish, and are plotting our destruction:

First, we’ve asked the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to present a plan at next week’s G8 summit for what needs to be done to stabilize and modernize the economies of Tunisia and Egypt.  Together, we must help them recover from the disruptions of their democratic upheaval, and support the governments that will be elected later this year.  And we are urging other countries to help Egypt and Tunisia meet its near-term financial needs.

Second, we do not want a democratic Egypt to be saddled by the debts of its past.  So we will relieve a democratic Egypt of up to $1 billion in debt, and work with our Egyptian partners to invest these resources to foster growth and entrepreneurship.  We will help Egypt regain access to markets by guaranteeing $1 billion in borrowing that is needed to finance infrastructure and job creation.  And we will help newly democratic governments recover assets that were stolen.

Third, we’re working with Congress to create Enterprise Funds to invest in Tunisia and Egypt.  And these will be modeled on funds that supported the transitions in Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall.  OPIC will soon launch a $2 billion facility to support private investment across the region.  And we will work with the allies to refocus the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development so that it provides the same support for democratic transitions and economic modernization in the Middle East and North Africa as it has in Europe.

Basically giving $4 Billion Dollars to nations that are plotting and carrying out acts of terror against the U.S. and it’s allies. Now the final betrayal to both an Allie and a country under siege from all sides. He had this to say:

So while the core issues of the conflict must be negotiated, the basis of those negotiations is clear:  a viable Palestine, a secure Israel.  The United States believes that negotiations should result in two states, with permanent Palestinian borders with Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and permanent Israeli borders with Palestine.  We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states.  The Palestinian people must have the right to govern themselves, and reach their full potential, in a sovereign and contiguous state.

He backs the terrorist position to put Israel back into the vulnerable position it was in when every Arab nation aligned itself to destroy Israel in 1967. This is the equivalent of siding with Germany when it was bombing England in WWII, just as the Arabs randomly bomb Israel today.

President Hussein does not speak for the American people, nor does he speak for Congress. This plan to fund our enemies and betray our Allie was not shared with anyone. In fact when it was leaked yesterday that this was what he was going to say, the White House Press Secretary vehemently denied it.

President Husseins actions today are a betrayal of not only our only real Allie, but of the American people, and a further demonstration of his inability to do his primary job, Protect the United States and her interests.

Is he really this stupid, or an active traitor, purposefully destroying our security as he has done with our economic system? I believe both are deliberate.

1948, not 1967

By David Vance On May 17th, 2011 at 6:59 am

Yes, I know it’s obvious but it is worth taking a moment to recognise that what most concerns Palestinians is the year 1948, not 1967. Here is what Bibi had to say on the topic;

”This is not a conflict about 1967, this is a conflict about 1948, about the State of Israel’s very existence. You must have noticed that yesterday’s events did not take place on June 5, the day the Six Day War erupted, they took place on May 15, the day the State of Israel was established.”

And for further proof – check out the fashion…

1948 "Nakba"

This is an existential problem. These Arabs seek the destruction of Israel and that is why they consider it’s very modern establishment as a catastrophe. There can be no compromise on these issues and there is no “peace process”. Israel must defend itself with every vigour and hope that eventually Arabs learn to accept that Israel is here to stay.

Hat-tip to Israellycool.

Today is the day when the Arab world regrets the existence of the state of Israel. True to form, violence is their preferred method of showing their alleged victimhood; But not ALL the violence seems to get through the MSM prism … take this example of poor Palestinian oppression;

‘Driver in Tel Aviv truck rampage shouted death to Jews’

For details of this day of Palestinian rage against the Jewish people, you could visit this excellent site

The media can be relied upon to provide a one-sided narrative – after all, that is what it always does.  But here on ATW, lest any think otherwise, we stand 100% behind Israel – a beacon of hope and democracy in the darkness of the Arab world.

Well done to Israel.

Residents in Ashkelon reported Thursday seeing Israel’s new Iron Dome defense system intercept a Grad rocket fired towards the southern city from the Gaza Strip. IDF officials called the interception a “historical moment”, saying it was the first of its kind in the world. Two intercepting missiles were fired at the rocket, but the first succeeded in hitting it, an army official said.

So, as Palestinians concentrate on their evil random acts of slaughter – firing rockets at civilians, Israel implements a measure that will save life. Wonder will the media ask WHY Palestinians – those esteemed “partners for peace” are so intent on killing Jews?
