I see Obama’s foot soldiers were on the march in the States.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators have rallied across the US in a mass call for citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants. The co-ordinated protests were designed to press Congress to act as senators negotiate an immigration reform bill. In Washington DC cheering crowds gathered outside the Capitol, and more than 1,000 demonstrated in Atlanta. Lawmakers are expected soon to unveil a bill that would grant a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants.

Well. these “lawmakers” may seek to legalise the lawbreakers who reside in the US but I sincerely trust this co-ordinated attack on the US constitution is defeated. By condoning and then accepting illegal immigration that one thing you ensure is MORE of it. You also guarantee the votes of those you legalise and perhaps that is a better explanation of the motives behind this move. I opposed it when George W Bush provided “amnesties” to illegal immigrants and I oppose this co-ordinated undermining of the value of US citizenship by Obama and his cohorts.

America: Arms Dealer Inc.

In light of the intense discussion and bipartisan hysteria over impending gun regulation in the wake of America’s latest mass shooting there has been no mention of America as the world’s largest purveyor of arms.

Between them, the White House and the Pentagon — with a helping hand from the State Department — ensure that the U.S. remains by far the leading purveyor of the “right to bear arms” globally.  Year in, year out, in countries around the world, they do their best to pave the way (as the NRA does domestically) for the almost unfettered sales of ever more lethal weapons.  In fact, the U.S. now has something remarkably close to a monopoly on what’s politely called the “transfer” of weaponry on a global scale.  In 1990, as the Cold War was ending, the U.S. had cornered an impressive 37% of the global weapons trade.  By 2011, the last year for which we have figures, that percentagehad reached a near-monopolistic 78% ($66.3 billion in weapons sales), with the Russians coming in a distant second at 5.6% ($4.8 billion).

Mark the irony of this administration’s current rhetoric on American gun control versus the reality of how they deal with the rest of the globe.

Here’s the strange thing in the present gun control context: no one — not pundits, politicians, or reporters — seems to see the slightest contradiction in an administration that calls for legal limits on advanced weaponry in the U.S. and yet (as rare press reports indicate) is working assiduously to remove barriers to the sale of advanced weaponry overseas. There are, of course, still limits on arms sales abroad, some imposed by Congress, some for obvious reasons.  The Pentagon does not broker weapons sales to Iran, North Korea, or Cuba, and it has, for example, been prohibited by Congress from selling them to the military regime in Myanmar. But generally the Obama administration has put effort into further easing the way for major arms sales abroad, while working to rewrite global export rules to make them ever more permeable.

In other words, the Pentagon is the largest federally licensed weapons dealer on the planet and its goal — one that the NRA might envy — is to create a world in which the rights of those deemed our allies to bear our (most advanced) armaments “shall not be infringed.”  The Pentagon, it seems, is intent on pursuing its own global version of the Second Amendment, not for citizens of the world but for governments, including grim, autocratic states like Saudi Arabia which are perfectly capable of using such weaponry to create Newtowns on an unimaginable scale.

This is one of many serious discussions the American people aren’t having amidst the current sound and fury in the aftermath of Sandyhook. Maybe it’s time to broaden our perspective regarding who we are as a people and the arms policies we sanction through our government.

Interesting article here on a topic I too have been highlighting  – namely the calamitous state of the US finances;

What lies ahead then for the 113th Congress, newly sworn in on Thursday? And for the President, who will be inaugurated for his second term on January 20?

Another shutdown showdown is likely in less than 60 days, because at $16.4 trillion in debt and a debt-to-GDP ratio unseen in 70 years, the federal government has once again reached its borrowing limit.

It will run out of operating funds, and a default looms in the next two months unless Congress agrees to the President’s request to raise the debt ceiling once again.

The delayed $1.2 trillion in automatic cuts begin in March, with the defence budget still bearing most of the burden – some $50 billion this year alone. Entitlement programmes already soak up nearly 62 per cent of all federal spending, and Medicare and social security, the two benefits aimed mostly at elderly Americans, are nearing insolvency: 10,000 ageing baby boomers are becoming newly eligible every day.

Meanwhile the President has threatened more tax increases, warning: “If Republicans think that I will finish the job of deficit reduction through spending cuts alone they’ve got another thing coming.”

The abyss of debt deepens. And the political divide widens. Democratic and Republican lawmakers are united on one front only: each hopes the other side will go over the edge first.”

Obama will keep borrowing and US debt will rise to the point where the US becomes Greece. Who will bail the US out?

Remember when SHE did this? Boy the opprobrium was cosmic.

And when HE does this? Smiles all round, what a guy.

So, my forecast is realised and Americans choose Greece as their preferred economic model. What can go wrong with THAT?

Obama quoted the Stevie Wonder song “Signed Sealed and Delivered” in his victory speech and that’s what America has chosen, it’s signed up to four more years of creeping socialist servitude and sealed its fate to continued fiscal recklessness and I am  sure  Obama will deliver.

But what amazes me is that I heard the BBC’s US correspondent (and Billy Bunter look-a- like)  Mark Mardell mention earlier this morning that in his view whilst Americans perhaps trusted Romney more on the economy, that wasn’t the main issue for them!

Hello, it’s always the economy stupid, unless the stupid want to live in Narnia. After 4 years, Obama has racked up a $16 TRILLION national debt, so those who chant four more years seem to less American and more Greek!  They do not get that you cannot spend what you do not have. But Democrats know better.

We are now into the era of American un-exceptionalism with Big Government spoon feeding more and more people who gratefully lap up the socialist medicine and I am sure Obama will also spend a fair bit of the four years on part two of his world tour apologising for everything that has made America great.

The one positive result of this election is that it has given EU President Herman Von Rompuy something to cheer about at last, as America trundles down the same path as the failed bankrupt EU.

The Republicans, of course,  got what they deserved. Once again they played it safe with their Presidential choice and once again they got it wrong. Instead of being bold and at least offering people a REAL choice, they chose middle of the road Romney and we all know what happens if you stand in the middle of the road.

Already, I hear siren voices saying that NEXT TIME around the GOP needs to be “more moderate”..code for more to the left.

I notice that Mahons has entitled one of his pieces “back to work”…given the millions without a job I wonder was that ironic? Obama has secured HIS job for four more years, the poor saps that have handed him this may wonder why they sacrificed theirs in the process?

Be still my beating heart;

It’s shaping up to be one of the tightest U.S. presidential elections in history. But it seem there would be one clear winner if the rest of the world were to get to vote. A poll of more than 570,000 people across the globe has revealed non-Americans want Barack Obama to remain President of the United States. Research, conducted across 36 countries outside the US, revealed 81 per cent were in favour of Obama spending another four years in office. And only 19 per cent preferred his Republican challenger Mitt Romney, according to the findings from MSN.

I’m sure Obama is MUCH more popular than Romney with all who wish to see a weakened American giant; a crushed American spirit; a shrunken American military; a bankrupt American economy; a pro Muslim foreign policy; a even MORE dhimmified America State Department; an America which apologies for being exceptional;

Yes, if you value these things, Obama is the correct choice.  He is the perfect anti-American President so give him four more years and ensure that what is left of America THEN will be far beyond any prospect of hope and change for the better.

Romney is quite right in what he says here re Smiling Joe Biden;

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has accused Vice-President Joe Biden of making misleading statements on last month’s Libya consulate attack. In Thursday’s TV debate with Romney running mate Paul Ryan, Mr Biden said “we weren’t told” about requests for extra security in the country. Mr Romney said that “directly contradicted the sworn testimony of state department officials”.

So, was Biden lying or were the State Department officials lying? Truth seems to have gone missing in action..

Further to Mahons post, I wanted my say on those comments by Mitt Romney. It seems he has caused outrage by defining many Democrats for what they are;

The Republican told a group of donors that the 47 per cent of Americans who do who do not pay income tax would automatically support President Barack Obama because they “believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it”. “My job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives,” Mr Romney says in the video, which was filmed surreptitiously and leaked to Mother Jones magazine.

Let’s leave aside the surreptitious aspect of this – we all know that Dems fight dirty. But rather, let us focus on the substance of what Romney said. He is pointing out that the core Democrat vote are Entitlement junkies. Shock Horror – but what is the problem with saying THAT? Just like the core Labour vote in the UK is generation idle. It seems leftists hate it when they called out for what many of them are. Personal responsibility is a core conservative value and leftists know that in their hearts. This faux offence over Romney’s comments amuses me – and remind me how MANY Democrat voters were planning to vote for Romney again? If we are talking about that all important group of swing voters – let them choose between a Presidential candidate who wants to see the STATE provide their every need (Obama) or a Presidential candidate who advocates personal responsibility (Romney)

Oh, and when we are at it, any update on whether Hillary Clinton has stopped grovelling to Islam yet?

White births in the United States are no longer in the majority, according to new data from the US Census Bureau, as a rising Hispanic population contributes to an historic demographic shift.

The United States of Mexico? Still, better not enforce borders….

Please, if you are a lefty, I beseech you, do not read any further. For your own good. I’m begging you…

Probably the last person you’d expect to cite Sarah Palin favorably is Noam Chomsky. Yet in an interview with the Leftist news organization Democracy Now, Chomsky did precisely that, saying Palin was right to mock Obama for his lack of substance. “I don’t usually admire Sarah Palin,” Chomsky said, “but when she was making fun of this ‘hopey changey stuff,’ she was right, there was nothing there.”

Watch the fun here…
