I note that my erstwhile colleague Jim Allister has called on organisers of Belfast Pride to apologise for offensive posters and the “torrent of abuse” he said Christian protesters were subjected to.

The TUV leader has written to the PSNI and Parades Commission about placards he deems offensive including ‘Jesus protect me from your followers’, and ‘Jesus had two dads (and he turned out just fine)’. Mr Allister said: “I found the posters and gestures offensive. “It was a perverse attempt to make an argument for gay adoption.”After a blasphemous placard was carried in the parade previously, organisers gave assurances it would not happen again. “Assurances given have proved worthless,” he said

The 21st Gay Pride Parade in Belfast City. July 2011

Jim’s not the only one who wasn’t happy at this gay display. Liberal minded Alex Kane expressed some concerns here.

“But there is another side to the parade, an element of it which is downright vulgar. I’m fairly sympathetic to Rudy Giuliani’s view that “politics should stay out of the bedroom” and I think there are some sights and antics which should be kept out of the Pride parade. There were moments on Saturday when I was uncomfortable and I certainly wouldn’t go back next year. A family day out, which is how the organisers described the parade, should be just that. Keep the other activities for the nightclubs.”

Note; I am entertained Alex thought that a Gay Pride parade was one to bring the kids to see.

As I have written, I consider the Gay Pride parade to be oxymoronic, to the dismay of liberals everywhere! It’s a circus on stilts and it has received universal praise from our liberal media. Oddly enough that same media is consistently hostile to parades that mark our Christian heritage. Jim is right to highlight the offensive side of the event and I am sure his views will be ignored as our society slouches towards Gomorrah with gay abandon.

It’s a carnival of carnal desires? It’s a parade of fun for all the family except maybe mind the children? It’s an abhorrence to any sober homosexual? Just WHAT is Gay Pride – which takes place in Belfast today?

An MLA has praised Belfast’s largest cross-community carnival for “tackling prejudice” as the parade takes to the streets today.

Gay Pride 2011, which adopts a funfair theme this year, kicks off from Custom House Square at 2pm. Numbers are expected to surpass last year’s crowds, which saw 15,000 walk alongside floats on the official route – up Royal Avenue, around the City Hall, down Castle Place and back to a family area at its starting point. Alliance leader David Ford has given the event his full backing and congratulated organisers on the festival’s success, which has seen several gay-themed events held across the city in the run-up.

He said: “Belfast Pride is an exciting event and I want to wish everyone who is taking part well. “Belfast Pride and groups associated with the event help greatly in tackling prejudice and this is essential to help build the genuinely shared society that Northern Ireland needs and deserves. It promotes respect and ensures diversity is celebrated.” Lord Mayor Niall O Donnghaille will join the parade around the City Hall

First, let’s dismiss the opportunistic liberal trash from Ford. If he believes in the “shared society” dross he drones on about, does he not see the exclusionist nature of “gay-themed” events? Second, where is the pride in this? How does this “tackle prejudice”?

Listen, I take the view that a persons sexuality is THEIR private business. I have no desire to intrude or be judgmental. However I see this troupe going through Belfast as undignified and as in the instance above, clearly offensive. I do not understand WHY a section of those who are gay need to display it. I see no need for a Straight Pride parade nor do I see a need for a Gay Pride parade. I know it plays well in liberal circles to indulge this – hence Ford’s commentary. Well, let him dress up as per below and I might take him…as seriously as I do at the moment.

Tolerance is the key to a decent society. Gay people are protected under the law and if anything this minority is given  greater rights than heterosexual people. (See under persecution of Bed and Breakfast Hotel owners). I do not OBJECT to the parade, it is a free society but I think it is bizarre and do not understand how it makes gay people feel better. Have they some sort of inner guilt that makes them flaunt their sexuality in this way, for example? Or, is this just evidence that gay people are as capable of public inanity as straight people? As a poor Christian, I accept we are all flawed and sinning. I am not judging anyone who attends this Parade, they will be answerable to a higher judge than me.

What’s so wrong about curing gays?

A Belfast church has defended a decision to permit a conference taking place at one of its buildings which promotes a therapy claiming to help people “convert” from homosexuality.

Gay Rights groups outraged by the event are set to picket the one-day conference today organised by the Core Issues Trust and held in Belvoir Church of Ireland.

Core Issues claims people are not born gay and that they can change. A number of speakers attending the conference, entitled ‘Interrogating the Pejoratives: Considering Therapeutic Approaches and Contexts for those Conflicted in Sexual Identity’, will focus on reparative therapy which seeks to change sexual orientation. The controversial therapy intends to help gay people “get rid of unwanted same-sex longings”.

Core Issues, a Northern Ireland-based group which, according to its website, is a non-profit Christian initiative “seeking to support men and women with homosexual issues who voluntarily seek change”.

Why are the Gay Rights lobby so angry all the time? Surely IF some folks want to seek voluntary help for their sexual proclivities why be annoyed about it? Of course I support the right to lawfully protest but I wonder why the Gay lobby is so enraged that some people may want to be straight?

A mass same-sex “kiss-in” has been staged outside a pub in central London where two men alleged they were ejected on Wednesday for kissing each other.

Hundreds of people gathered at the John Snow pub on Broadwick Street, Soho. The men in question, James Bull and Jonathan Williams, attended the protest and held hands outside the building. But Daniel Griffiths, ex-president of the Federation of Licensed Victuallers Associations, said if they did not like the house rules, “don’t use the pub”. Earlier Thomas Paget, the licence holder of the pub, had refused to comment on the row.

Comments?  Does the landlord have to do what some of his customers demand and if so, where does that one go? In what way does closing down a commercial establishment show tolerance?

Is it a surprise?

California is set to become the first US state to require the teaching of gay history and rights. Children would take lessons on issues affecting gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people, with schools granted discretion about what age to start the lessons. The law was passed by the state’s senate and is likely to pass the assembly easily, which is also controlled by the Democrats, before being signed by Governor Jerry Brown. The legislation, sponsored by Democrat Mark Leno of San Francisco, passed on a 23-14 party line vote.

Enforced gay advocacy – the mark of uber-liberalism. It’s appalling to see the education system abused in this area and I feel so sorry for the children who will have their education priorities inverted.

Wonder what you make of this?

Fury erupted yesterday at “sinister” plans to quiz 11-year-old children to see if they are straight, gay or bisexual. The state’s equalities watchdog says a child’s sexuality should be questioned in case they could be victims of discrimination. Those working with young people in schools, healthcare and youth services are being advised to set up pilot studies to monitor adolescent sexual orientation and not dismiss gay feelings as “a passing phase”. Although children should be told about the nature of the survey by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, parental consent is not always necessary. The paper advocates asking children at 11 because some “question their orientation as early as eight and may begin to identify as LGB (lesbian, gay, bisexual) from early adolescence”.

This is the continued sexualisation of our children and the relentless advance of the LGB agenda. You can see how the Equality and Human Rights Industry seeks to drive their perverse interest in sexual identity into children as young as 11 – using our schools as social engineering labs for their obsession. When one considers how many young people leave Primary school without even basic writing and reading skills, you have to wonder why the EHRC seeks to further subvert their education?

HIV contaminated blood

I am sure the pro-gay lobby will not like this but sometimes facts have a habit of getting in the way of propaganda.

A doubling of new HIV infections in the UK in the past decade is leading experts to tell GPs to offer testing to all adult male patients in some areas. Health Protection Agency data shows new UK-acquired cases rose from just under 2,000 in 2001 to nearly 3,800 in 2010. Many of these new cases are among men who have sex with men and it is this group that campaigners hope to target.

There is more detail;

Men who have sex with men remain the group most at risk of becoming infected with HIV. New diagnoses in this group alone have increased by 70% in the past 10 years. There are more than 30,000 men who have sex with men living with HIV in the UK and experts estimate nearly a third of these are currently undiagnosed and unaware that they are infected.

Another high risk group that would benefit from increased HIV testing, according to NICE, is the black African community living in England. In 2009, more than 2,000 black Africans were diagnosed with an HIV infection; one-third of all new diagnoses in the UK.

What is it about black Africans – a tiny % of the UK population – that brings about a situation where they constitute one third of all new HIV infections? Is it that wonderful multiculturalism “anything goes” that liberals ask us to embrace – in this case, literally?

Did you read about how Apple has come under fire for approving an “app” that offers guidance on how homosexual people can be “cured” and convert to heterosexuality?

The “gay cure” application, designed to be used on Apple’s hand-held devices, was created by and named after Exodus International, a religious organisation which believes in teaching “freedom from homosexuality through prayer and practicing conversion therapy”. The app is offered free on Apple’s iTunes online shop and was given a “4+” rating by the company, meaning it is not considered to contain objectionable content. A description of the app on the online shop said: “With over 35 years of ministry experience, Exodus is committed to encouraging, educating and equipping the Body of Christ to address the issue of homosexuality with grace and truth.” Gay activists quickly gathered more than 37,000 signatures for an online petition persuading Apple to drop the software.

Once again we see the intolerance of militant gays. There must be hundreds of thousands of Apps on every conceivable subject, I even have one on killing zombies! (Never mind the excellent Tiger Woods Golf app) So the idea that there can’t be religious ones is outrageous and if some religious group wants to have one that offers “freedom from homosexuality” – so what? I’m sure there are plenty of Gay Apps – so this vocal minority who wish to limit Apps should take a hike.

The pro gay rights anti-Christian jihad continues with the appalling news that a Christian couple opposed to homosexuality have lost a court battle over their right to become foster carers.

Eunice and Owen Johns, 62 and 65, of Derby, said the city council did not want them to look after children because of their traditional views. They claim they were “doomed not to be approved” due to their opinions. The High Court ruled that laws protecting people from sexual discrimination should take precedence.

In this case, Eunice and Owen would NOT tell an 8 year old that homosexuality was a positive lifestyle choice. Quite WHY an 8 year old would be discussing a gay lifestyle is casually ignored by the media as if such lunacy was an everyday conversation. Listening to the couple, it is clear that they seek to provide a loving traditional family for kids without parents. But, and this is the crunch, they refuse to advance the pro gay rights agenda to children and as such they are now prevented from fostering any more kids.  Thus far the couple had successfully fostered 15 children. But not any more. I bet Stonewall and the gay industry feel pleased as one more attack on traditional family values is undermined by our sickeningly liberal judiciary.

Anyone seen Bruno yet?  I believe I heard that a group of under- age teenagers  in the neighborhood managed to see it last night. And my husband and a group of his guy friends are planning to go en masse tonight. Apparently, a totally gross movie that you can sit and laugh at/with is just what the doctor ordered. But not for me. I definitely will be taking a pass on this one.

John Nolte reviews Bruno at Big Hollywood:

“…I think it was Andy Warhol who said that after ten minutes of watching porn he wanted to have sex with everyone, but after an hour he never wanted to have sex again. That pretty well sums up sitting through “Bruno.”

and, here:

“Maybe this is just the beginning for Baron Cohen, maybe he’s working his way towards something truly “fresh” and “brave” … something where he sends a Christian into a GLAAD meeting, a cowboy into a La Raza gathering… We’ll see what happens to a parked car with a “NObama” sticker at NYU or MSNBC, or to a screenwriter pitching a pro-Bush script at a Hollywood studio… Better yet, a Berkeley student with a Palin t-shirt, or a white South African running for elected office in a Democrat primary as an “African-American.
