I can’t believe its not the IRA; again!

Of course the Republican leadership, all with hands raised in pious supplication to the skies, will deny all knowledge of this; as ever!

Despite the waffle from the appeasement community, it is evident that the terror threat here is at a ten year high.

Police in Londonderry have said a device found outside the city’s courthouse was ‘substantial’ and ‘viable.’ The bomb was found in a vehicle abandoned outside Bishop Street courthouse. Several controlled explosions were carried out overnight on Monday. Elderly residents from a local fold were evacuated following a telephone bomb warning, which was received at about 6.45pm on Sunday.
So, the new wave of Irish republicans (containing the expertise of the last wave) do what they do best – creating fear, causing chaos, seeking to cause destruction. And before I hear the usual suspects whinge about how this latest lot of republican terrorists “have no support” etc etc – can someone advise who gave the IRA in this area the RIGHT to bomb, kill, maim and terrorise? Oh yes – Martin McGuinness was Commander here  – so I guess he played some role and I wonder what happened to him? A true Republican hero – and a role model for last night’s killing crew.
The uncomfortable reality remains that appeasing terrorism yields more of it. That is why Londonderry continues to suffer from the plague of Irish Republican terrorism that has blighted it for more than 40 years.

One of a series of pictures posted on a social networking website showing children dressed up as republican paramilitaries in a south Armagh community centre

Children have appeared dressed up as republican paramilitaries and brandishing replica guns in a south Armagh “community centre” which has received hundreds of thousands of pounds in EU funds.

The children, some of primary school age, were photographed at the Ti Chulainn cultural centre in Mullaghbawn. They were wearing balaclavas, combat jackets and trousers, dark glasses and berets, and brandishing replica weapons including AK47s and Armalites.

Irish Republicans – luxuriating in their terrorism – funded by the taxpayer – inculcating their malignancy into their children. This is how transgenerational hatred endures…and the EU funds it. I notice the DUP whingeing about this even as they sit in power with the godfathers of terrorism so hardly in a position to comment.

Tit for tat!

Most criminals believe that they will never be betrayed by their accomplices; never will the people who have benefited by their greed and assorted crimes inform upon them to the authorities. In real life, however, it is more often than not an insider who ‘shops’ the gang for a lighter sentence, if sentence there is. Times without number, thieves have been brought to book on the evidence of some who were in on the crime from the earliest planning. However, there are some criminals, murderers of many, who explain their crimes by reference to an imaginary war, who do not forget their friends who stood by them when things were rather different.

MEPs called on High Representative Ashton to recognise the Interim National Council as officially representing the Libyan opposition. The resolution, by all political groups, also calls on EU Member States to “stand ready” for a UN-mandated no-fly zone over Libya, to prevent the Gaddafi regime targeting the population, and to help repatriate or resettle migrants fleeing the growing violence there.

“EU governments need to stand ready for a decision in the UN Security Council on further measures, including the possibility of a no-fly zone”, in compliance with a UN mandate and coordination with the Arab League and the African Union stressed MEPs in a widely-backed resolution (584 in favour, 18 against, 18 abstentions). During the debate, only the GUE/NGL group was against this idea.

Members of the GUE/NGL group include, well; surprise, surprise: SinnFein!

Well, as Guido remarks, they have to say ‘thanks Colonel’ for the six-odd shipments of weaponry including

  • 9mm Browning, Taurus, Glock and Beretta handguns
  • AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifles
  • MP5 submachine guns
  • RPG-7 anti-tank rocket launcher
  • Soviet made DShK heavy machine guns
  • FN MAG machine guns
  • Military flamethrowers
  • Semtex plastic explosive
  • Strela 2 man portable SAMs

I see that IRA godfather Martin McGuinness has attributed  Sinn Fein’s electoral success in Ireland, north and south, to the republican hunger strikes of 1981..

The Deputy First Minister was opening a new exhibition in Belfast on the prison protest that saw 10 men starve themselves to death in a demand for political status. Mr McGuinness detailed how the decision to stand hunger strikers for election, including TERRORIST Bobby Sands, who was MP for Fermanagh/South Tyrone when he died, had sparked the republican movement’s shift into electoral politics.

Well, I too remember the so called Hunger Strikes. I remember the violence by Irish republicans, the murders that surrounded them as IRA terrorists starved themselves to death. I was pleased at the time that Margaret Thatcher did not bow down to the Provos, these were NEVER political prisoners, they were vicious terrorist thugs who chose depravity as their preferred weapon when in prison. Outside prison, of course, they chose guns and semtex to make their squalid points.

However I was VERY disappointed to see that Peter Robinson had failed to follow McGuinness to pay tribute to the IRA activists who made it all possible. Why so shy, Peter? You enjoy Martin’s company, you keep the IRA in government, surely you should also have the decency to attend the Hunger Strikers exhibition? Isn’t that  the shared future you aspire to? And when the IRA shrine is built at the Maze, perhaps it will be opened by Mr Robinson as a grand gesture towards his Provo pals? As for the rest of us -well,  perhaps we will hold a barbeque to remember the boys. Billy Sands – we will never forget you.

Its the way you tell them!

The Northern Irish Secretary of State was being interviewed on BBC Today this a.m. about the young adherents and adoring ‘followers’ of the “dissident Republicans’ who have so far failed to kill anyone in the last few weeks, but have successfully killed two soldiers and a policeman. The interviewer was asking him to explain what the ConDem bunch were doing to combat the petrol bombs, the rocks, the violence towards the innocent, and he came out with the words:-

We must make them aware that political change never comes through violence!”,

and then went on with the usual burble about how the PSNI were totally committed, with a ‘Local Justice Minister’, and the devolution process was just wonderful; how things were calmer, and brighter, and everything would be just ‘great’ in the future!

Strange then that he overlooked the fact that there is, in the Assembly in Northern Ireland, a Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, or ‘Machine-Gun Marty’ as he is fondly called by the in-crowd, with solid IRA Terror connections. Also Gerry Adams, another terror godfather whose very presence mires the term ‘democracy’. He also overlooks the emasculation of the PSNI into an organisation which cannot even arrest rioters because they don’t have the neighbourhood behind them. He overlooks the steady Orwell-like re-writing of history within the Province, which gives the role of the IRA as the ‘good but misunderstood’, as opposed to everyone else. He does not mention the steady progress of former killers into every strata of Northern Irish life and institutions!

If that isn’t ‘political change through violence’, then what is?

As I approach my seventh decade, I honestly thought I had seen and read most things cynical, self-serving and amoral, but once again; I must admit that I was wrong!

We always read of the simple fact that arsonists love to re-visit the scenes of their fires; same for killers and terrorists, so why are we surprised to see the smiling, or would that be grinning, features of Martin McGuinness as he treads the pavements of Brighton some 25 years after the hotel bombing which he no doubt either inspired, authorised or planned.

As David has stated many times before, we should not be treating with terror, we should be destroying it! But the terror-sympathisers of Labour, aided by the Liberals, along with quite a few Tories, instead decided that for a quiet life, they would welcome the killers into Government, call it ‘Devolved Government’, and let the bastards have a portion of what they want!

    They have forgotten the second half of the DaneGeld philosophy;

    We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
    No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!"

    shock, bbc prints truth!

Just wandering through some of the cant produced on the Beeb screeds, and came across proof that someone Beeb-based actually reads at least of one voice raised in opposition to the bandwagon calls for ‘lets not let the Peace Process down’; when I saw this extract from a commentary page on the killings:-

However, at least one of Northern Ireland’s bloggers stepped outside the consensus in response to the shootings.

“David Vance condemned what he terms “the blabbering of mainstream journalists” as “surreal” and “entirely detached”.

“Contrary to what is being stated, the Irish republican terrorists who have murdered in Antrim and Craigavon do enjoy significant support in certain areas, ” he said.

“Remember when all those convicted terrorists walked free from prison and we were told that this was the price to be paid for peace?

“Tell it to the next of kin of those slaughtered on the streets of Northern Ireland during the past 72 hours.”

And he says “Sinn Fein/IRA” only condemned the attacks because they believed “that they alone have the right to be judge, jury and executioner”.”

    different folks…….

Illuminating indeed were the comments of one Gerry Adams in relation to the dead soldiers and policeman over the past few days.

If you are a member of the P.S.N.I. , your death is condemned as murder and ‘outrageeous’ because the neutered Police Service has received the blessing of the Almighty IRA boss Gerry Adams.

If you are a British Soldier, however, you are still a legitimate target because you have no right to be in the ‘occupied territory’ of Northern Ireland anyway! If it is ‘Occupied’, I do wonder how he manages to sit in the Assembly which is part of the vaunted ‘Peace Process’.

As has been asked many times before on this forum, What Peace? What Process?
