I caught this story earlier about three men having been arrested in Germany on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks. Federal prosecutors said the three were suspected members of "an Islamist terrorist organisation", but gave no further details. Media reports said the men were planning attacks against a US military base in Ramstein and Frankfurt airport. Defence minister Franz Josef Jung confirmed the arrests and said the men had posed "an imminent threat". "The security services have done a very good job and I can’t say anything more at this point," Mr Jung told German television. ‘Major targets’ Reports said that two of the suspects were German while the third was Pakistani.  German and Pakistani, eh? Bet they aren’t called Hans. Bet they are Muslims. The missing M in so many news reports about terrorism.

ming2.jpgI see that Liberal-Democrat Leader Ming Campbell believes that British forces must now leave Iraq as they cannot achieve any form of victory. Of course Ming also believed that British forces should never have entered Iraq in the first place, and throughout their time in Iraq he has consistently advocated their withdrawal. So it seems to me that the Lib-Dem’s are quite clearly the political party that sells surrender as their foreign policy. And they are no different from other left wing parties around the western world who all strongly believe that there is nothing worth fighting for unless the UN decides otherwise. Of course the UN is happy to ignore genocide (See under Rwanda and Darfur) so fighting against Islamic terror is not going to feature very high up its list of priorities, especially when there is the war on climate change to fight.

The Lib-Dem’s are a morally bankrupt lot, and Ming the Merciless is just one tired old joke, but I think that the surrender policies they advocate pick up a resonance amongst the media elite which is why when he makes these kinds of statements he is treated as if he were in power rather than chirping from the back-benches. These days it is unfashionable to support the war on Islamic terror – so people close their eyes and wish it will all go away. It won’t. We’re in a war and I want us to win comprehensively. Ming Campbell accepts defeat and tries to then turn this into political virtue.

Now I have to admit that I am shocked at the above headline. The NYT is a foaming-at-the-mouth liberal  rag, in my view, but even such a rag occassionally gets it right and so it has been saying that  in regards to Iraq, Britain was now following “a tempting formula, reaping domestic political credit for withdrawal but without acknowledging that the mission has failed”.

Well, that’s only half right. Under Gordon Brown, the drumbeat of surrender gets louder by the day. We can all hear that if we but listen. And yes, this is coldly calculated on reaping domestic UK kudos. But it appears that there are many within the British military that are now briefing the media off-record saying that our forces have failed in Iraq and that we need to get out. Such rank defeatism in the highest levels of our military is dismaying. In essence, senior commanders, off-record, are saying that we are beaten and that we need to get out. Similar concerns are also being raised about the mission in Afghanistan. Naturally the media laps this all up, loving the idea of the UK Political and Military establishment uniting to embrace defeat.

The thing is that it also sends a message to the Jihadi. Kill more Brits. Use them for target practise. Make them hoist the white flag. Our soldiers are brave, but some of their leaders are cowards. If we cannot beat Al Queda in Iraq, then they will be encouraged to come to our own land and see how brave we fight at home

Whenever there is discussion on the threat posed by militant Islam in the UK the view is usually expounded that only a tiny minority of Muslims pose a threat to us. But it’s interesting to read this morning that  as many as one in 11 British Muslims agree with and proactively support terrorism, according to a Government adviser. Haras Rafiq told officers at Scotland Yard that up to 20 per cent of the Muslim population ‘ sympathise’ with militants, while stopping short of being prepared to ‘blow themselves up’ How kind of them. Rafiq, an adviser to the Government’s preventing extremism taskforce, said: "A percentage of people actually agree and support proactively the people that are deciding to blow themselves up. "It varies, it can be 7 per cent, 5 per cent, 9 per cent."

With 1.6million Muslims living in the UK, nine per cent is the equivalent of 144,000 people supporting terrorism.

144,000 – a "tiny minority" or the biggest terrorist support group this country has ever seen?

Meanwhile Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said yesterday that the Government is changing its approach to dealing with extremism. She added: "It seems to me that what we should be doing is emphasising the values that we share which are under attack from terrorism-rather than trying to create a battle or war between those who oppose the terror and those who want to carry it out."

Wrong. All this "reaching out and embracing shared values" is so much nonsense when 144,000 of those you reach out would be happy to see you die in the name of Islam. What we need to be doing is going after every facet of militant Islam, closing down their Mosques where appropriate, deporting or arresting the preachers of Islamic hatred they idolise, and making it clear that Islam will never rule Britain. They change or they go. Jacqui Smith is wrong, Haras Rafiq may unfortunately be right.

It”s been reported that the man injured whilst carrying out the Jihad attack Glasgow Airport attack on Saturday 30 June has died in hospital. A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said that the man seriously injured during the incident died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Kafeel Ahmed, one of two men held at the airport after a Jeep struck the terminal, died on Thursday evening.

Good riddance to Jihad rubbish. Had this guy and his pals succeeded, dozens of people would have lost their lives at Glasgow Airport, men women and kids indiscriminately slaughtered. It’s lucky he didn’t accomplish his mission. I feel sorry for his family, assuming they feel a sense of shame that their offsprig was such a murderous scumbag. What do you think – should we lay on a State funeral?

An Interesting Deterrent

By ATWadmin On August 2nd, 2007 at 9:37 am

I have to admit to a sneaking admiration for GOP Presidential Candidate Tom Tancredo, the ‘Immigration Candidate’. He doesnt exactly mince words when it comes to condemning those he sees as the enemies of America, even when those include his own Party hierarchy.

It seems that in contrast to certain other candidates for the job such as Mitt ‘Flipflop’ Romney, and Rudy ‘Abortion? Depends who the audience is’ Guiliani, his positions do at least remain consistent over time. And it seems he has an ingenious (and of course being Tancredo, controversial) idea about how to deter future attacks on American soil or soldiers – threaten Islamic holy sites.

Now, bearing in mind that the Islamists have a propensity for going ballistic (and in their case of course that’s rarely just a metaphor) with the full connivance of the media whenever anyone even goes within a few hundred metres of their Holy Places, could Tancredo have actually hit upon a solution here? Intimidation is the only language which the Islamists tend to use in their usual dealings with us, so why not, as Tancredo puts it, deter rather than respond?

brownPA250906_228x242.jpgLet’s cut to the chase concerning the meeting between UK PM Gordon Brown and President Bush yesterday. Discussing the future of UK troops in Iraq Brown has told Bush he would not delay their exit in order to show unity with the United States. After four hours of talks with the US President at his Camp David retreat, Brown told a joint press conference he would make a Commons statement in October on the future of the 5,500 British troops in the Basra region. The Bush administration has been nervous that a full British withdrawal would add to the criticism. But Mr Brown made clear – and President Bush accepted – that Britain would go its own way, even if that gave the impression the two countries were diverging.

And that’s EXACTLY what Al Queda want to see. Divide and Conquer.

Brown has no stomach to FIGHT militant Islam, he would much prefer to find a way to instigate a conflict resolution process with them, involving financial aid no doubt. He does NOT get it in the way that Blair did. The Jihadists seek to cower us into splitting with our allies and Brown will give them what they want. This will give him excellent media headlines and expect those poll numbers to rise even further. Life will be good under Gordon – until the Jihadists strike again, and again….and then what? Brown makes me nauseous. When the US and UK SHOULD be totally united, he’s making a virtue out of the fact that he will make us separate.

glasgow%20airport%20attack.jpgWonder what you make of the claims that severly burned Glasgow Airport attack suspect Kafeel Ahmed is being kept alive on the orders of MI5? The alleged Jihadist has third degree burns to 90% of his body and virtually no chance of surviving but insiders claim the security services are keeping him alive to avoid a backlash from radical Muslims.

I would switch the machine of right now and stop wasting British taxpayers money keeping Jihad scum alive. And as for the backlash from "radical Muslims", let us recall that the attack on Glasgow Airport was BY radical Muslims.  It was radical Muslims who planned to bring mass carnage to Scotland. It is they who should be afraid of us, not the other way around.

It is revealed today that Ministers in the British Government insisted that British secret agents would only be allowed to pass intelligence to the CIA to help it capture Osama bin Laden if the agency promised he would not be tortured, it has emerged.  MI6 believed it was close to finding the al-Qu’eda in Afghanistan in 1998, and again the next year. The plan was for MI6 to hand the CIA vital information about Bin Laden. Ministers including Robin Cook, the then foreign secretary, gave their approval on condition that the CIA gave assurances he would be treated humanely.

Give me a break. Had Bin Laden been captured, and been physically tortured live on prime time TV, if that could have gained the intelligence to stop  the awful atrocity on 9/11, it would have well been worth it. Being nice to Mr Bin Laden, treating him decently and kindly, is absolute nonsense. This man delighted in planning the mass murder of innocents all around the world – and yet ALL the self righteous shills in the Labour Government could do was concern themselves about poor Mr Bin Laden.

Here’s a great image care of the most excellent Jawa report and a telling commentary..

"An image of Abdullah Mehsud in an interview with reporters in 2004. A former Guantanamo Bay prisoner released after he was found not to be a threat, and who later returned to Pakistan to become an important Taliban leader involved in multiple attacks against US and Afghani forces, died today after blowing himself and several companions up when they were surrounded by Pakistani forces"

Yes, but in THOSE shoes? Where o where were the Taliban fashion police?
