FLYING THE FLAG!

By David Vance On July 7th, 2011 at 7:41 pm

I see that the EUSSR has been busy imposing fines on museums, councils and firms that do not fly the EU flag. Seig Heil.

“Fines for failing to display the EU flag and logos should be scrapped, a government minister said yesterday. Brussels has imposed financial penalties of almost £500,000 on councils, museums, universities, travel firms and business groups.

Each had breached rules that require display of EU symbols in return for grant money – a system Eric Pickles said was unfair. ‘It defies common sense that the EU can hammer public bodies with huge fines for merely not flying their flag,’ said the communities and local government secretary. ‘This is a prime example of bureaucracy taking over, with organisations being hit for the most minor breaches for over-complicated rules. ‘The end result is British taxpayers’ money being wasted on design guidelines, form-filling and millions of pounds of red tape. These fines should be axed.’

How will THAT happen then, Eric?

Of course it is an outrage that the UK is fined for not flying the EU flag and had I my way it would be banned in this land. We need to assert our BRITISH national sovereignty and that means getting OUT of the EU.

MORE JUNK!

By David Vance On July 7th, 2011 at 11:15 am

Well, some of us have been quite vocal in suggesting that this is an inevitability

IRISH government debt is at risk of being cut to ‘junk’ status by ratings agencies for the first time ever, analysts said last night. The warning comes after Portugal’s government rating was cut to junk on Tuesday, prompting a furious response from European leaders. Moody’s cut Portugal’s government debt rating four notches on Tuesday, from Baa1 to Ba2. The Ba2 rating is “sub-investment grade”, commonly known as junk. It makes Portugal the second European government bond issuer to lose its investment grade status. Moody’s said it made the cut because it was now more likely that Portugal would follow Greece into a second bailout if it couldn’t get back into the markets to borrow in 2013. If that happens there is also a bigger chance that private sector lenders would be forced to play a role in the new bailout, Moody’s said. Analysts said the same concerns would hit Irish debt ratings.

As we keep saying here, the Eurocrats are in serious denial.  Of course the debt is junk. The notion that somehow, magically, this can be wished away is nonsensical. Greece, Portugal, Ireland – the PIIGS are being slaughtered to suit the political pretensions in Brussels. When Rome burned, they say Nero played the fiddle. As the Eurozone burns, the political elite deny the flames exist.  The only problem is that things are going to keep getting hotter…

I hope they do it

By Patrick Van Roy On July 6th, 2011 at 10:35 pm

El Duce Obama, and finance minister Schacht, excuse me I mean Geitner have been having meetings about ignoring the Statutory U.S. Debt Limit. According to propaganda minister Chucky Schuemer speaking to the Washington Examiner this idea has been discussed. They actually think they can spin violating the Constitution by using section 4 of the 14th amendment.

Section 4 of the 14th amendment states: The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

Using this section to justify such action is bull. According to this regime it would be unconstitutional to not borrow to keep paying the debt even without congressional authorization because of the line “shall not be questioned”. This is a flight of fancy like no other.

Article 1 Section 8 clause 2: The Congress shall have Power To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

Not the President. To do so would be a violation of the separation of powers, and an act of shear totalitarianism.

The U.S. Government takes in revenues of 175 BILLION Dollars a month, Section 4 does not allow the President to ignore a debt limit set by Congress, a debt limit forces him to pay the debt first before paying other expenditures. ONLY Congress can borrow money, if they don’t the Treasury must pay the debt accrued before any other obligation forcing the Treasury under direction of the President what must be cut to meet those debt obligations.

If Obama and Geitner ignore the debt limit and the Treasury continues to borrow without congressional authorization Obama and Geitner are in violation of the Constitution and articles of Impeachment would then be authorized. So it comes down to the President deciding what gets cut or Impeachment.

I hope he orders Treasury to continue borrowing.

SOMALI, SO WHAT?

By David Vance On July 6th, 2011 at 9:11 pm

Well, I fail to see why this is good news; (No link!)

Somalia’s militant Islamist group al-Shabab has lifted a ban on foreign aid agencies, as the region is hit by its worst drought in 60 years. Al-Shabab imposed the ban in 2009, accusing them of being anti-Muslim.

It now says all charities, whether “Muslims or non-Muslims”, can give emergency aid as long as they have “no hidden agenda”.

The UN told the BBC it welcomed al-Shabab’s announcement, but it would need security guarantees for its staff.

Jihadistan can take our cash but yet seeks to kill us. Is this desire to provide humanitarian assistance the right one? Why are Islamic nations with loadsamoney such as Saudi Arabia not rushing to provide cash to their Islamic brothers? Would it not be more suitable for Al Shabab to refrain from taking our infidel cash and just accept that of their brothers in Mohammad? As human beings, it is right that we try to help each other, and in particular regard when it comes to something like starvation. But throwing money at it will not solve the problem and so the question is this; Are YOU happy for some of your taxes to be sent to Islamic Somali? I’m not.

El Duce

By Patrick Van Roy On July 6th, 2011 at 11:57 am

Benito Obama is at it again. A couple of years ago the advocates for the terminally criminal illegal alien community tried forcing the states to follow U.N. “Rules” instead of American Law. What it comes down to is the loons want to release every illegal convicted of a crime because even though they received due process, the fact that they were not offered an advocate from the Mexican Government all convictions of foreign nationals should be thrown out. So if you break into this country illegally, commit rape and murder of a 16yr old girl you must be set free because you weren’t offered  international law and a diplomat from your embassy. I kid you not.

Obama tries to stop execution in Texas of Mexican killer

US president warns Texan authorities that execution would put America in breach of international legal obligations.

President Barack Obama is attempting to block the execution in Texas on Thursday of a Mexican man because it would breach an international convention and do “irreparable harm” to US interests.

The White House has asked the US supreme court to put the execution of Humberto Leal Garcia on hold while Congress passes a law that would prevent the convicted rapist and murderer from being put to death along with dozens of other foreign nationals who were denied proper access to diplomatic representation before trials for capital crimes.

The administration moved after the governor of Texas, Rick Perry, brushed aside appeals from diplomats, top judges, senior military officers, the United Nations and former president George W Bush to stay Leal’s execution because it could jeopardise American citizens arrested abroad as well as US diplomatic interests.

Leal, 38, was convicted in 1994 of the rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in San Antonio. Few question that he was responsible for the killing but the Texas authorities failed to tell Leal, who was born in Mexico and has lived in the US since the age of two, that under the Vienna convention he was entitled to contact the Mexican consulate when he was arrested.

The Great Pretender – Otto Von Habsburg

By Mahons On July 6th, 2011 at 1:00 am

Otto Von Habsbrg passed away at the ripe old age of 98.  He was the last crown prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and the pretender to the throne of the Emperor.  The throne itself was abolished in 1918, but he kept his hand in the game for decades while in exile.  He renounced the throne eventually and led an interesting life as a strong anti-Nazis and anti-Communist (sorry righties, he was also strongly pan-European).  The Nazis honored him by sentencing him death in absentia.  He is credited, quite fairly, with helping to speed the demise of the Iron Curtain.  A reminder to those who it was the work of a few and not many.

His full name Franz Joseph Otto Robert Maria Anto Karl Max Heinrich Sixtus Xaviar Felix Renatus Ludwig Gaeta Pius Ignatius probably made him the happiest man on Earth when credit cards replaced checks.

Goodnight Sweet Prince.

many hands sometimes work

By Mike Cunningham On July 5th, 2011 at 6:34 pm

I have reminded ATW readers, (the British ones, that is,) of their inalienable right to write to their MPs on whatever matter is annoying/perturbing/amusing them at any time. Sometimes, most times, when you get a reply, it is usually a written form of a sleeping pill, as your MPs mostly have their minds made up for them by the Party machinery, and those who don’t are very much in the minority. However, occasionally, many people writing in to their MPs can have a cumulative effect, and this I believe is best illustrated by the announcement that Dominic Grieve, the Attorney General, has ordered that Contempt proceedings be initiated against the Sun and the Daily Mirror over their stories and treatment of Mr. Christopher Jefferies, who was questioned and completely cleared of any involvement in the brutal murder of Joanna Yeates.

I posted upon this subject, as well as writing to my own MP, Roberta Blackman-Wood; and I am led to believe that the pressure resultant from many people such as I was the prime mover in this attempt by the Attorney General to lay down some firm guidance to the MSM that they should be aware that the Law is there to protect the innocent, and that their reporting, especially when no-one has been charged with any crime, should remain strictly within the Law on Contempt. as in http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14024079

So, once more, I would like to remind you that the hard work is already completed for you, at http://www.writetothem.com/ and all you have to do is compose your letter, and it shall be e-mailed to the MP of your choice.

HUH?

By Patrick Van Roy On July 5th, 2011 at 1:38 pm

You have to love this,

(Reuters) – Smoke belching from Asia’s rapidly growing economies is largely responsible for a halt in global warming in the decade after 1998 because of sulphur’s cooling effect, even though greenhouse gas emissions soared, a U.S. study said on Monday.

Ok so the people that must be ready to drink the kool-aid and take a ride on the next comet to fly by, have really come up with a good one. To explain the ZERO change in planet temperatures over the last decade, the story is that the pollution from China’s new coal fired energy plants namely the sulfur dioxide from burning evil coal has saved us. Sulphur allows water drops or aerosols to form, creating hazy clouds which reflect sunlight back into space.

OK so Acid Rain stops global Warming, you got to love it. It gets even better, in the same report it states that 2010 was the hottest year ever, even though temperatures haven’t changed in 10 years, it states that when the Chicoms come to their senses and stop polluting by bringing a new coal fired plant on line every 6 hours. The sudden stopping will cause AGW to explode overnight, and we will all fry.

So the cult has been caught changing numbers, leaving numbers out, fudging ocean depth data, deleting data from monitoring stations that contradict the story they want to sell, conspiring via e-mail world wide so that they all tell the same story, and now saying acid rain is temporarily saving us from the damage caused by the same plants that are creating the problem. Now personally I think these people have smoked way to much pot, but the best part is our elected officials on both sides of the pond are convinced by these dope smokin hippie rejects.

I don’t know, we are all doomed !
