The United States has something set in the foundation of our country, it is one of the Ten Keystones that our nation is built on. The Freedom of Speech is the ONLY keystone placed ahead of it. Of course I am speaking of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment was specifically designed to keep Guns in the hands of the civilian population so that they can protect themselves from the Tyranny of an out of control Government. Period end of story. If you read the Federalist Papers and the notes of the men who wrote the Constitution this was not only the primary reason for the Second Amendment it was the sole reason. Self defense, and Hunting weren’t even mentioned.

The anti-gun kooks on the left have never been able to tolerate this. There are several reasons, but the main reason is the very reason that the right was spelled out in the first place. A government can not force a totalitarian rule over a well armed citizenry.

For decades the anti-gun communist kooks of the left have been trying to whittle away at this basic right. So naturally with the election of the first communist President an all out push has been made by this administration to do just that. Using an issue that underlies an uncomfortable reality in our nation that there is no security on our southern border, and that more Americans have been killed there in the last year than in both Iraq and Afghanistan combined. The Obama Regime decided to use this issue to attack this basic right.

They made statements early in his administration that the violence on our border was caused by guns purchased here in the U.S. and that our gun laws were responsible for the deaths and violence. Except one problem, the numbers didn’t equal the rhetoric. Less than 7% of the guns seized in both Mexico and Border State violence related to illegal Drug and Human trafficking were purchased in the U.S.

Well never let the truth interfere with an agenda. The Obama administration decided to take it upon themselves to change those numbers.

Enter operation Fast and Furious, also referred to as Gun Walker, an operation created by the Obama Justice Department, Eric Holder and ATF head Kenneth Melson. Fast and Furious is the Obama administrations attempt to change the number of guns confiscated at crime scenes to match their rhetoric.

In the U.S. contrary to what you may think gun dealers work hand in hand with the ATF to assure that the only people that can buy guns are legally authorized to do so, until the Obama Regime that is. This regime compiled a list of over 40 people that they knew were straw purchasers and when notified that these people were attempting to purchase weapons ordered the gun dealers to allow the sales. They filmed the sales, the transfer of the weapons to the Mexicans, and the transportation of the weapons across the Border.

Then all they had to do was wait till people committing crimes were arrested with these weapons, and bingo they had their case to further restict the rights of the American public.

One small problem about 2500 guns were allowed to be illegally purchased, to date only around 300 have been found at crime scenes. Oh and one small problem, Two of the ATF “walked” guns were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry south of Tucson last December.

Four ATF Agents went off after the murder of Terry, and have blown the whistle on the operation that has lead to the death of American citizens, just so that they can prove that the sale of legal guns to legal buyers is bad.

The Obama Regime is responsible for Terry’s death and god knows how many others yet to come from the about 2000 guns still out there in criminal hands. The other curious thing is why is this not the headline story on every American News Outlet, and why is the President not asked about this every time he shows his face?

Glad He Didn’t Die Before He Got Old – Clarence Clemons RIP

By 33230715130361 On June 19th, 2011 at 2:33 am

Course age 69 now seems less old to me as  I grow older myself, but at least it marks a full life lived.  Clarence Clemons, the great saxophone player, checked out today.  Clarence helped give Bruce Springsteen his sound, and the solos on Thunder Road, Born to Run, and Jungleland are among rock’s best.   RIP Big Man.   He played with Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Jackson Brown, Twisted Sister and Ringo Starr.    A musician’s musician.

Changing Tides: Research Center Under Fire for ‘Adjusted’ Sea-Level Data

Is climate change raising sea levels, as Al Gore has argued — or are climate scientists doctoring the data?

The University of Colorado’s Sea Level Research Group decided in May to add 0.3 millimeters — or about the thickness of a fingernail — every year to its actual measurements of sea levels, sparking criticism from experts who called it an attempt to exaggerate the effects of global warming.

“Gatekeepers of our sea level data are manufacturing a fictitious sea level rise that is not occurring,” said James M. Taylor, a lawyer who focuses on environmental issues for the Heartland Institute.

Steve Nerem, the director of the widely relied-upon research center, told FoxNews.com that his group added the 0.3 millimeters per year to the actual sea level measurements because land masses, still rebounding from the ice age, are rising and increasing the amount of water that oceans can hold.

“We have to account for the fact that the ocean basins are actually getting slightly bigger… water volume is expanding,” he said, a phenomenon they call glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA).

Taylor calls it tomfoolery.

“There really is no reason to do this other than to advance a political agenda,” he said.

Rory McIIroy, age 22 and breaking a 111 year old Record

By 33230715130361 On June 17th, 2011 at 5:43 pm

Not the biggest fan of golf, but I am a fan of achievement.  Northern Ireland’s Rory McIIroy has just set the record for the best first 36 holes of golf in US Open history.   Now if he can hold out and win the whole damn thing (if he fails will some here blame the Peace Process?).

Oh to be 22 and on top of the World.  Good luck Rory!

Study War No More? Obama’s Libyan Adventure

By 33230715130361 On June 16th, 2011 at 6:05 pm

The President claims that the War Powers Act does not apply to the military action regarding Libya.  He is wrong.

The United States Constitution requires a Congressional Declaration for War.  See for example, FDR’s classic address to Congress after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.   In recognition that the modern age requires Presidents to move more quickly and respond to much more divergent conflicts.  Over Nixon’s veto Congress approved the War Powers Act which (in general) provides that the President may act in the interests of the US but must seek (and obtain) Congressional approval within 60 days.

The distinction of no ground troops or that the mission is NATO led is not grounds to essentially ignore the Act.  He is not following the spirit or the letter of the law.

It is a grave precedent to allow this to go unchallenged, and Congress should rise up and use its ability to cut the purse strings to stop this now.  That is why we have a seperation of powers.

Colder in the heat?

By Mike Cunningham On June 16th, 2011 at 7:46 am

Just thought I’d highlight a piece from the Global Warming Policy Foundation which criticises a report from the IPCC. Now the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) itself is no set of angels, but surely they should have at least scrutinised the people who were writing the report to ensure that there was at least a balanced bias; but no, the clowns are in the ring once more.

Seems as though the report was heavily steered so as to embellish the credentials of power from ‘Renewable’ sources, but supporting documents also indicated that world-wide power requirements would FALL over the next forty years. The Foundation also states that the claims that ‘Renewables’ would overtake nuclear were derived from a joint study by Sven Teske, a climate change expert employed by Greenpeace, which opposes the use of nuclear power to cut carbon emissions.

The report was also savaged by the Foundation for stating  “Close to 80 per cent of the world’s energy supply could be met by renewables by mid-century.”, but later on revealed that, at its lowest estimate, renewable energy might account for only 15 per cent of primary energy supply. Surprisingly, these items were not picked up by the Guardian, the Daily Mail or, forsooth, the BBC!

Boehner up, Weiner down.

By 33230715130361 On June 14th, 2011 at 9:33 pm

The Speaker of the House John Boehner has sent a letter to the President asking him for legal justification for the military action regarding Libya, citing the War Powers Act.  Whatever your view of operations there (I myself am not in favor) the Speaker correctly has invoked the War Powers Act and rightly demanded an account from the President.   I’m not saying the Speaker is about to morph into a Dove, or is above politics in his request, but his motive is not as important as the fact that he is in the right.  Let us see what the answer will be.

But enough talk about pulling out, what about Weiner?  Well Congressman Weiner is trying the “I am going into therapy” defense, which might work if there was thearpy for lying (The Richard Nixon Clinic?).  He’s getting rightfully dogged by everyone it seems, and I can’t see how he retains his office at this point.   Every day his story gets worse.  I think he has to resign before the week is over.
