Thought you might like to listen to the words of Sinn Fein “Culture” Minister Caral Ni Chuilin’s special adviser Mary McArdle. As you know, McArdle is a convicted murderer having been part of the IRA gang that murdered 22 year old Mary Travers as she left Mass with her family. A few days ago, McArdle said she “regrets” that the murder happened, claiming it was “a mistake”. (They only meant to murder Mary’s father, so not so bad then ) But here is a video of McArdle in less nuanced mode. In it she plainly states that she “wanted to kill the bastards” – referring to Prison Officers. Her words – delivered direct to camera. She wanted to kill.

and there is nothing better than the crowd at a Jimmy Buffett concert

I don’t like the Nanny State, to be put it l. I don’t like being told what to do by the State. But then again, if the State can help support family values and protect the innocent, I am prepared to support some things. Like this;

High street shops will be told not to sell padded bras and sexually suggestive clothes to children under guidelines to be unveiled on Monday. The tough new rules coincide with the publication of a Government-commissioned review into the sexualisation of children by Reg Bailey, head of the Mothers’ Union. They reflect public disquiet about the marketing of suggestive clothes and sexual slogans targeted at young children. Controversial products have included High School Musical-themed underwear with the slogan ‘Dive In’, Playboy stationery, and crop tops for young girls bearing the slogan ‘future porn star’.

This seems reasonable enough to me but there is one obvious issue not being discussed. WHAT SORT OF PARENT would buy their child a crop top saying “Future porn star”? (Apart from a current porn star, possibly?). I mean how could anyone be so stupid, so morally bankrupt, as to corrupt their OWN child’s innocence? There are more issues in play here than the decadence of manufacturers making these adult themed clothes kids for young children. How do you legislate for poor parenting? With religion in massive decline and an anything goes uberculture, is it not inevitable that innocence will be corrupted?

You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away – Supercreep John Edwards Faces The Music

By 33230715130361 On June 4th, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Democratic Presidential Candidate (and Vice Presidential Nominee) John Edwards is finally facing the musc for his conversion of campaign funds (roughly $925,000) for his mistress and to hide the fact that he fathered a child with her – while his wife was dying of cancer by the way.

Edwards was one of those slick false populists.  He lied about the affair, the child and obviously about the diversion of the campaign money.  The scandal sheet the National Enquirer brought him down, so I’ll forgive them all those stories about Elvis playing chess with aliens in Roswell, New Mexico.

Edwards is pleading not guilty, and I suspect he’ll be convicted.  The money trail is there. It coudn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Woke up with this song stuck in my head

I was reading about the Greek day of protests against further cuts that the Government intends to implement in exchange for the rescue package of the European Union and the IMF.

Convened by the unions, hundreds of workers from the OTE telecommunications company took to the streets on Monday to reject the privatization plans that the adjustment contemplates. Also, the bank workers went on strike for 24 hours as a demonstration against the relief package, which is currently being analyzed by parliament.

Greece is a basket case and no matter what the EU/IMF think or do, it is doomed to default. The Greeks have become hooked on welfare.

Mitt Happens, Part II

By 33230715130361 On June 2nd, 2011 at 6:25 pm

Mitt Romeny announced today that he will be seeking the Republican Nomination for the Presidency.  Say what you will about Mormons, they keep coming and knocking on the door.

This means Mitt has essentially been running for six years, the loneliness of the long distance runner.  As a businessman he would seem to have a head start on the field in these hard times come again no more days, but he has a few strikes against him that will be difficult in the present day Republican primary field.   He had a health care plan that works in Massachusetts that Obama took note of in fashioning his.  Since Obamacare is a rallying cry for the rabid wing of the party, his adversaries will try to pin this success on him as a failure.  Plus the Mormon thing, which I joked about above, is difficult to overcome in the Deep South where evangelicals think it is a cult.  In addition, he’s in the middle or even liberal wing of his party, and those folks are keeping their heads down at the moment.

He has money, and he’s a nominal frontrunner, but he doesn’t inspire passion and passion is driving the Republican primary voters at this time.  Especially in the small states Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina where bloc voting by fringe voters can destroy a candidate due to the overemphasis we place on the results there.  His real hope is that the wack pack (Newt, Sarah, Paul and even Palin) all get in and stay in the race and split up the foaming at the mouth voters.

I heard it on the grapevine!

If you are doing something you shouldn’t be doing, and your search is on an office computer, your problems are only beginning.

According to court documents, Cheng Yi Liang, a chemist since 1996 at FDA’s Office of New Drug Quality Assessment, exploited his access to the agency’s password protected internal tracking system for new drug applications to learn whether and when certain drug applications would be approved. Together with his son, he used the information to buy and trade drug stocks, reaping more than $2 million.

Trouble is, he had been targeted because of suspicions of ‘Insider trading’, so the Health & Human Services investigators put ‘Hidden’ software on the chemist’s computer which logged every search, every keystroke which was made, and proved that the illegal searches and documentation viewed produced a profit of $379,000.00 in just over a month!

Isn’t Our Libyan Adventure Supposed to Be Over?

By 33230715130361 On June 1st, 2011 at 10:09 pm

Excuse me Mr. President, isn’t our limited  intervention in Libya supposed to be over by now?  I ask because apparently people are being killed in Yemen and Syria and, well we don’t seem to be doing much about that.

I mean UNICEF is leading the way regarding condemning Syria’s Assad (where a 13 year old was tortured to death by Mr. Assad’s cronies).  If UNICEF is more vocal then the leader of the free world then something is really wrong.

I mean, is there a plan, or is there simply an unfocused reaction?
