Just last week the House passed the Obama’s Administration’s “Cap and Trade Bill.”

Talk about central planning!  

As a candidate, President Obama stated that one of the objectives of his Cap and Trade policies would be to encourage “clean” energy sources.  He stated that he would to this by making the production of “unclean” energy, like coal, so expensive through fees, taxation and global warming credits, that producers of unclean energy would have no choice but to abandon their endeavors.  He also stated that his cap and trade policies would increase the price of energy to the consumer. The consumer  absorbs the additional governmental fees and taxes in the cost increases passed on to them in their energy bills.  It was Obama’s thought that energy usage will decrease as the consumer is economically forced to reduce consumption and to be more energy efficient.

Now, Obama’s Cap and Trade Bill is tied to the UN and Al Gore’s Global Warming thesis. But new scientific evidence indicates that manmade gasses might not be the cause of any global warming.

Alan Carlin, a scientist at the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) issued a EPA report stating that the EPA should consider actual science and not politicized summaries issued by the UN as they have done in the past.  

The report was hushed up.  Mr. Carlin’s supervisor sent Carlin an email which said:

“The time for such discussion of fundamental issues has passed for this round…I can see only one impact for your comments given where we are in the process, and that would be a very negative impact on our office.”

President Obama is trying to ram his “Cap and Trade” Global Warming boondoggle through Congress. Meanwhile, the fraudulent nature of the highly suspect “science” supporting AGW panic is exposed in the Wall Street Journal:

 …”It turns out Al Gore and the United Nations (with an assist from the media), did a little too vociferous a job smearing anyone who disagreed with them as “deniers.” The backlash has brought the scientific debate roaring back to life in Australia, Europe, Japan and even, if less reported, the U.S….

…The number of skeptics, far from shrinking, is swelling. Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe now counts more than 700 scientists who disagree with the U.N. — 13 times the number who authored the U.N.’s 2007 climate summary for policymakers. Joanne Simpson, the world’s first woman to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology, expressed relief upon her retirement last year that she was finally free to speak “frankly” of her nonbelief. Dr. Kiminori Itoh, a Japanese environmental physical chemist who contributed to a U.N. climate report, dubs man-made warming “the worst scientific scandal in history.” Norway’s Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner for physics, decries it as the “new religion.” A group of 54 noted physicists, led by Princeton’s Will Happer, is demanding the American Physical Society revise its position that the science is settled. (Both Nature and Science magazines have refused to run the physicists’ open letter.)”

On Tuesday, a NASA satellite designed to measure carbon emissions failed to orbit and crashed into the ocean.

Who among you now dare say that there is no God?

As Mike Cunningham has already posted, three cheers for Northern Ireland’s Environment Minister Sammy Wilson for banning government propapanda on so-called global warming. This is most welcome since, as  a tax-payer, I object to having my money used in such brain-washing exercises. In fact it would be even better if ALL government advertising could be banned and the savings left in our salaries. Government spending on advertising has spiralled massively upwards under Labour as it uses TV to manipulate public opinion, which is none of its business. Three cheers for Sammy for axing this green alarmism, but we need to see much more of this insidious nonsense banned from our screens.

STILL crumbling, situation deteriorating.

I do wonder; when will we pass the tipping point and be able to state that a majority of scientists disagree with the AGW theory? At this rate, that moment cannot be far off. Via Watts Up With That, EU Referendum has the summary of the latest blow to the cause (my emphasis):

First published by the Senate EPW blog prop. Jame Inhofe, this has it that James Hansen’s former NASA supervisor has declared himself a sceptic. Hansen, he says, has “embarrassed NASA” and “was never muzzled”, although he should have been.

Our current hero is retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist, Dr John S Theon. As Hansen’s former supervisor, he joins the rapidly growing ranks of international scientists abandoning the promotion of man-made global warming fears. “I appreciate the opportunity to add my name to those who disagree that global warming is man made,” Theon wrote to the Minority Office at the Environment and Public Works Committee on 15 January 2009. “I was, in effect, Hansen’s supervisor because I had to justify his funding, allocate his resources, and evaluate his results.”

“Hansen,” he says, “was never muzzled even though he violated NASA’s official agency position on climate forecasting (i.e., we did not know enough to forecast climate change or mankind’s effect on it).” He thus embarrassed NASA “by coming out with his claims of global warming in 1988 in his testimony before Congress.”

Theon is also declaring “climate models are useless.” His own belief concerning AGW is that “the models do not realistically simulate the climate system.” There are many very important “sub-grid scale processes” that the models either replicate poorly or completely omit.

“Furthermore,” he says, “some scientists have manipulated the observed data to justify their model results. In doing so, they neither explain what they have modified in the observations, nor explain how they did it.” Theon also charges that these scientists “have resisted making their work transparent so that it can be replicated independently by other scientists.”

This, he adds, “is clearly contrary to how science should be done. Thus there is no rational justification for using climate model forecasts to determine public policy.”

With Jim Hansen being al-Gore’s closest ally and the source of the data on which he relies, if there was any justice in this world, Gore would be well and truly stuffed. The “global warming” gravy train, however, has gained such a head of steam that it is going to take some stopping. But the writing is on the wall.

Oh the writing’s on the wall alright! Despite a decades-long, global propaganda campaign waged by political elites of unlimited resources, public opinion remains dubious at best. The high point of the campaign has come and gone, the future will bring evidence only that we have lived through the greatest of scientific scams.

On the day of reckoning, when the facade finally crumbles into dust and all who propped it up are left exposed for the fools and liars they undoubtedly are, every politician who ever invoked AGW to take a Pound or a Dollar from a taxpayer will – God willing – be charged with Misfeasance.

Interesting to study this hierarchy of priorities for the new US President as seen by the American people. Shall I leave it to you to break the bad news to the Environ-mentalists?

A New Year and some new hysteria from the the global warming alarmists. This time they have decided that things are SO BAD that we need a “Plan B” to save the planet and they have some ideas!

“The plan would involve highly controversial proposals to lower global temperatures artificially through  schemes that either reduce sunlight levels by man-made means or take CO2 out of the air. This “geoengineering” approach – including schemes such as fertilising the oceans with iron to stimulate algal blooms!”

So, the arrogance of the AGW hordes becomes manifest. They may not understand the complexity of  climate changes but they are going to change it themselves by manipulating the elements using highly dangerous and unknown schemes. So, they will inject suphur particles into the upper atmosphere, they will pollute our oceans and send vastly expensive mirrors into outer space. It really is time these Gaia goons were stopped in their tracks before THEY cause climatic disaster.

Ok folks, I’m off to Belfast shortly and hence to the UTV environment debate that is broadcast live at 10.40pm! If you get a chance do tune in – it’s been a LOOOOONG day for me but I promised UTV I would turn up and provide a major sceptical point of view on AGW. The trailers for the show use all the cliched imagery, so you can imagine how popular my views will be! I’m not on the panel of “experts” – merely in the studio of those with what is labelled as “opinions”. That said, I think the Polar Bear suit will add gravitas to my point of view, perhaps holding a glass of scotch with melting ice??

Thank goodness for global warming…

“NORTHERN Ireland can expect 50 years of benefits from global warming, with a milder climate, after which worsening changes will bring skin cancer, storms and severe flooding, an expert has predicted. Writing for the News Letter, Galway academic Dr Kieran Hickey says that over the next half century farmers will benefit from a longer growing season and refuced frost.”

Chances are that yours truly won’t be resident on earth in 50 years time so I’m taking this as good news and I only hope he is right.
