Listened with a mixture of resignation and fury to the dregs of the Left, in the shape of the thoughts and words of Yoko Ono as she dribbled her stupid ideas all over the airtime of the foremost political commentary programmes at present operating in Great Britain.
Ono, herself well known as the only known person to be afflicted with senility at the age of ten, sends reporters to a failing ‘New Age’ settlement somewhere in ‘kiltieland’, then a swift trip to Iceland, where we were advised that the environment would be so much better if we all used geo-thermal energy for power, heating etc., despite the fact that the presence of this particular type of power is overall, rather rare in places like Burnley, from example! Onwards and ever downwards towards a spiritualist retreat where all was explained, as it were; and then a swift critique of the American Constitution, again from the particular viewpoint of this silly, failed slapper whose only true claim to fame is that she married a dead ‘pop’ star, and a pretty weird one to boot!
As a rebuttal, or even an opposition viewpoint, I am still hoping for the trenchant tones of, say, Frederick Forsyth or any number of right-wing commentators, but then,
Well done to the American soldiers who have caught and are holding at least four Iranians in Iraq including men the Bush administration called "senior military officials". They were seized in a pair of raids late last week aimed at people suspected of conducting attacks on Iraqi security forces, according to senior Iraqi and American officials in Baghdad and Washington.
Iran is a major contributor to DESTABILISATION in this region – although James Baker and his so called "realist" pals believe that Iran can be a stabilising force. Who’s being unreal?
Did you see The Queen’s Christmas message earlier this afternoon?
Her Majesty called for more understanding between generations. The Monarch, who turned 80 this year, also said the elderly need to be shown respect and young people need to be "nurtured and guided".So far. so good. She then moved on to say that…..
"It is very easy to concentrate on the differences between the religious faiths and to forget what they have in common – people of different faiths are bound together by the need to help the younger generation to become considerate and active citizens."
Sorry, but that’s so much garbage. And this is where the Queen falls down. She should be speaking up unequivocally for the Christian faith, she should be an unapologetic "defender of the faith" and this ecumenical nonsense spouted about all great faiths being so-concerned to help the younger generation sits ill at ease with one particular faith that encourages its young people to detonate themselves in pursuance of paradise.
I think I’ve worked out WHY the Spanish electorate behaved in such a cowardly fashion after the Madrid train bombings in May 2004.
Traces of cocaine can be found on 94% of euro banknotes circulating in Spain, a study has suggested. An analysis of notes from a selection of Spain’s major cities showed that each one carried an average of 25.18 micrograms of cocaine. Spain has one of the highest rates of cocaine use in the world, with about 475,000 regular users, El Mundo newspaper reports.
Euro banknotes have only been in circulation since January 2002.
You see the connection? Euro’s are introduced, cocaine is widespread, high Spaniards choose lowdown surrender!
I’m looking out the window and there isn’t a snowflake in sight! No White Christmas here.
It’s a grey sky, and a typical December morning – cool, no wind, uninspiring.
And yet all across the land, families are gathered together, presents unwrapped, turkeys prepared for the feast to come!
My kids are too old to believe in Santa Claus – though we kept that one going with them almost until their teenage years. My daughter is kinda sad that there is no kindly Father Christmas – I used to convince her that she could make him out flying across the sky on Christmas Eve. Lost innocence.
I hope YOU have all got whatever it was you were looking for this Christmas. (I got a back massager chair. ideal for my achy breaky middle-aged joints!)
I’ll be visiting my father who is still in hospital later on then returning to play some daft games at home!
I’ll blog a few stories later so pop by – see you then!
May you only receive what is kind, and good, and well-meant and -wished on this, the best day of the year for all Families, of whatever size, or composition, or character!
May your dreams be only of good times, of happiness, of laughter and of light! May the music of joy ring throughout your homes and hearts at this commemoration of the birthday of He who many believe to be the truly Risen Lord; and if your beliefs lead you elsewhere, may your path be given the solace that you seek!
If your thoughts extend that far, spend a moment with the many who do not have the luxury of a quiet mind; and lend them your prayers, so that they may understand the peace which pervades the very air around those lucky enough to be blessed with the richness of happiness and love of a family who are together at this, the very best day of the year!
Christmas Eve. A magical time for kids and a wonderful time for those of us who celebrate the birth of Christ.
This is a wonderful Christmas hymn – written by Charles Wesley, with a melody borrowed from the melodious Mendelssohn. My favourite lines are towards the end and they send a tingle down the spine when sung by a choir as we think of why we have this holiday …
"Born to raise the sons of earth Born to give them second birth Hark! The herald angels sing "Glory to the newborn King"
There are so many churches here and so many nativity scenes but i thought this one looked so pretty and peaceful. There were two in just this one church. Life is winding down here. And so am I! Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas….
Yes, we all know that Islam is the religion of peace. And love. So that must be why the fundamentalists in Mogadishu’s Union of Islamic Courts have issued a global call to arms to "foreign fighters" for their campaign against Ethiopia, whose troops are in Somalia to prop up the powerless interim government based at Baidoa, north-west of the capital.
"Our country is open to Muslims worldwide," Yusuf Mohammed Siad "Inda’ade", the Courts’ defence chief, said yesterday. "Let them fight in Somalia and wage jihad, and God willing, attack Addis Ababa."
It appears that this siren call from the Islamists is having a good pick up rate and I dare say some of our very own home grown British Islamists will answer the call and make their way to the region – to kill for Allah. Across the globe, Islam is on the offensive. It’s the new totalitarianism – but seemingly more effective since it is wrapped up in the comfort blanket of alleged religion.
At least the Somalis realise they are under attack by the Islamists – most of the West still lives in denial.
The "cease-fire" between Israel and the Palestinian hordes is doing REAL well.
The 50th and 51st Qassam rockets since the ceasefire began exploded on Israeli soil Sunday morning. The attack woke up terrorized residents of the southern Israeli town Sderot as alert sirens were raised.
Despite the continuing attacks on Israeli civilian populations, gutless liberal Prime Minister Osloid Olmert held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in which he pledged to release $100 million in tax returns to the Palestinians and ease travel restrictions from terrorist-riddled Judea and Samaria (West Bank).
Memo to Olmert – you can’t BUY OFF Terrorism.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Williams has nothing to say about these murderous attacks on the Joooos.
You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.
