Well, I’ve tried… I’ve tried to judge the POTUS candidates on his/her merit.  I’ve tried to ascertain and judge based on experience, policy and philosophy rather than likeability, gender and race. I’ve largely ignored the Siren’s call to vote for the “First Female President, ” and the almost irresistible daily appeals  to “heal” America by electing America’s  “First Black President.”

I’ve tried…and now I’m just giving up. 

No, I’m not moving to Canada… ….I’m getting in the sandbox and I’m linking to a website that gives the American white man/woman his/her due.  What IS it that makes American white people so…well….white?

Please note: The "white people" referred to above is actually a smallish subset of American "white people." For the most part, this subset  lives in San Francisco, LA or Manhattan… In other words, Democrats.

I’ve only recently noticed this story, but think it deserves some attention even though it’s a bit old by now. According to the Merseyside and Cheshire Cancer Network and the Liverpool Primary Care Trust, reports the Mail, as many as 60% of teenage girls in Liverpool are using sunbeds to such an extent that they are risking cancer.

And why? Because they are being mercilessly, relentlessly bullied over their complexions. Because they are too white. Hideously so, you might even say.

My question is, what’s wrong with being white? In this world of ‘anti-racism’ this and ‘anti-discrimination’ that, why is it ok to make someone’s life a misery just because their skin is whiter than yours? Is Fjordman right, and Caucausophobia an accepted anti-white racism? Might one even go further and say that an element of anti-white sentiment is socially mandatory today? It’s not so insane as it first sounds when one remembers all the verbal hoops a white has to jump through in public speech and interaction to avoid being labelled a ‘racist’, the last taboo of all.

In the face of ‘white racism’ way back when, the slogan ‘black is beautiful’ was touted and has since become a byword for the idea that all races have their own beauty and dignity. In the (cancerous sunbed) light of this slow-motion self-harm by Liverpool’s teen white girls, I wonder might it be an idea for those entrusted with the minds of the young to start a ‘White is beautiful’ awareness campaign? After all, in these enlightened times, it is surely only right that these children "not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character"?

William F. Buckley died today at the age of 82 in his Stamford, Connecticut home.  He was the founder of National Review and the star of television’s Firing Line.  An editor, writer, novelist, sailor, harpsicord player and one time candidate for Mayor of New York City (If elected he said he would demand a recount).  I can think of no other individual in the 20th Century who better made the case for conservative causes than Buckley. 

He came of age after World War II when the conservative movement and its isolationist leanings had been essentially vanguished by the New Deal and the War.  Buckley, with charm wit and brillant argument, charged into the liberal status quo.  He was an icon who was not afraid to be alone on an issue, and was a dedicated anti-Communist.  His friendships ran the political spectrum, and he was not afraid to take on the ultra right of his party – he is rightly credited for pushing the John Birch Society out into the fringes where it belonged.  It wasn’t always easy to agree with him, but it was never hard to like him.              

At first I thought little of the head-line "Burglar walks into Downing Street" since I naturally assumed this was a reference to Gordon Brown, who has been helping himself to our hard earned cash for YEARS now – all in the name of the redistribution of wealth, or "theft" as it is more commonly known!

But I was wrong. It transpires that it concerns a serial burglar who broke into 10 Downing Street has been given a final opportunity to avoid prison! Obadiah Marius, 45, sparked a major security alert when he was found wandering around the Whitehall Cabinet Office last June. The break-in came three months after he strolled into private chambers at Snaresbrook Crown Court and walked off with some judges’ laptops. Sentence was -  quelle surprise – postponed to assess his suitability for drug rehabilitation. Marius, from Stratford, east London, who has more than 30 previous criminal convictions, admitted one count of burgling the court in March last year, and a second charge, burglary with intent, relating to the Downing Street matter

I’m not saying that EVERY Christian couple is perfect. Indeed we are all fallen creatures if you choose to believe the Bible and it is only God who can lift us up to a higher level if we confess our sins and frailities. But I wonder what you make of the devoted foster parents with an unblemished record of caring for almost 20 vulnerable children,  Eunice and Owen Johns, who  have been forced to abandon their good work because they refuse to tell children as young as ten that homosexuality is an acceptable lifestyle. To do so, they say, would go against their Christian beliefs.  The devastated couple withdrew an application to their council to continue as foster carers after being told they must condone homosexuality to adhere to gay rights laws. The Equality Act (Sexual Orientation), which came into force last April, makes it illegal for any business or organisation providing a public service to discriminate against anyone because of their sexuality. The council says its fostering panel felt it would not be following the regulations if it placed a child with a couple who could not comply with the Act. The couple’s case comes at a time when there is a chronic shortage of foster parents, who work on a voluntary basis. Around 8,000 more are needed nationally. So, better kids go without foster parents than offend the sodomites out there. Quite sickening. 

So what is to be made of the news that the Rep of Ireland, a country that used to export its Catholic clergy around the world, is running out of priests at such a rate that their numbers will have dropped by two thirds in the next 20 years, leaving parishes up and down the land vacant!? The decline of Catholic Ireland, for decades the Pope’s favourite bastion of faith in Europe, has been regularly predicted, as the economic successes of the Celtic Tiger brought growing secularisation. But new figures have starkly set out the fate of the Irish priesthood if action is not taken by the Church to reverse the trend.

One-hundred and sixty priests died last year but only nine were ordained. Figures for nuns were even more dramatic, with the deaths of 228 nuns and only two taking final vows for service in religious life. Based upon these figures The Irish Catholic newspaper predicts that the number of priests will drop from the current 4,752 to about 1,500 by 2028.

It’s his big moment – his special moment! Yes,  Jeffrey Donaldson - the Daniel O’Donnell ringer – has been sworn in as a junior minister in the Northern Ireland Executive following the resignation of Ian Paisley Jnr. Jeffrey is Peter Robinson’s man and this installation is further evidence as to which way the wind is blowing in the DUP.  I have sent a public challenge to Jeffrey Donaldson and hopefully it should appear in the pages of The Newsletter in the next few days.  This little pipsqueak appears to believe that he is beyond reproach and I have taken the time to point out why he is a gross political hypocrite.  Now, sing the song Daniel…"I wanna dance with you…."

Nice non-work if you can get it!  The National Trust is giving its 170 employees in Northern Ireland the day off on Friday – but asking them to do something to improve the environment. In a campaign called "Leap forward for the climate", the charity wants its workers to use 29 February to help reduce their carbon footprint. It is also urging its 260 volunteers in Northern Ireland to take the day off and try to lead greener lives. All workers will be encouraged to switch to low-energy light bulbs and make other home improvements on their day off.

I wonder has anyone told the National Trust that the energy-saving, mercury-containing CFLs can cause health hazards, especially for children and pregnant women, suggesting use of the bulbs over carpeted areas should be avoided. If bulbs break over carpeted areas, the cleanup may require cutting out pieces of the carpet to avoid toxic exposures.Mercury is needed for the lamps to produce light, and there are currently no known substitutes. Small amounts of the toxic substance is vaporized when they break, which can happen if people screw them in holding the glass instead of the base or just drop them. Mercury is a naturally occurring metal that accumulates in the body and can harm the nervous system of a fetus or young child if ingested in sufficient quantity.

I wonder if NT workers could sue the NT for encouraging them to engage in such dangerous behaviour? Must remember not to give any more money to this organisation – if they can afford to give their employees time off for such indulgences.they clearly already must have enough cash.

I note that planned talks between Lord Eames and Gerry Adams have been put on hold – just hours after the IRA (aka Mr Adams and pals) moved to rule out a meeting with the Consultative Group on the Past! According to a source a "formal request" for a meeting with the IRA leadership was to have been made this morning – in scheduled private talks involving the retired Church of Ireland Primate and the Sinn Fein President. But it now seems that a face-to-face meeting at Stormont was postponed at the last minute at the request of Lord Eames. The talks are to be rescheduled when the co-chair of the Consultative Group has had more time to reflect on yesterday’s republican briefing. That was not conducted by the IRA’s ‘P O’Neill’, but by a senior republican source.

Look this is all nonsense. Eames is an IRA appeaser, cut and dried, but the IRA is not happy with even this and so is challenging his suitability. It shows that once you pay the  Danegeld…
