Keeping Whitey “on the hook”

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 7:45 pm

Obama plays the race card:

Yesterday in Missouri, Obama predicted McCain and the GOP would use racially tinged attacks against him.  “What they’re going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama said. “You know, he doesn’t look like all     those     other presidents on the dollar bills.”

Falsely accusing the McCain campaign of racism seems very devisive at this stage in the game.    Silly me.  I thought Obama was interested in uniting, not dividing.

A Deep Question

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 8:47 am

Over at House of Dumb, Jon asks the pertinent question about Harriet Harman’s latest pronouncements on partner/spousal abuse.

How exactly does this mesh with the libs’ last great assault on
marriage? Will gays have to register which of them is the wife and
which is in the wrong ?

He certainly has a point. I remember on a previous occasion where the police had to be called to remove my ranting ex-wife from the premises, the incident triggered the wheels of bureaucracy to send me leaflets on domestic abuse. However things then became slightly surreal as whomever sent them noted the fact that they were being sent to a male, and accordingly sent me leaflets which made the assumption that the antagonist in my situation must therefore also be male and I gay, as the idea of female-on-male abuse obviously did not exist in their worldview.

A very good friend of mine is a social worker with over a decade of experience. In his native US, he specialised in domestic abuse cases. When he started working in this area due to that specialisation he was assigned such work, and in that capacity visited each of the local Women’s Refuges within a large radius. At each when he asked what provision was made locally for female-on-male abuse, he was greeted with total incomprehension and shock that such a possibility would even be raised. One official informed him outright that ‘we do not accept that such a thing exists’ and made a complaint against him for raising the issue.

How long before the first unhappy woman decides that she can invent a history of spousal abuse and just get rid of the problem? Murder is murder, ladies and gents, no matter the provocation. There exists in this country a superb network of support and infrastructure for women who wish to escape relationships that are controlling and/or abusive (as long as they aren’t Asian, at least. But the tendency of Asian police officers to utterly fail to do their jobs in DV cases involving other Asians is a whole other story). And if any woman was that trapped, that utterly frustrated, then I am damn sure that any judge and jury would take this into account under those specific circumstances in our current climate.

Creating legislation to deliberately move the goalposts in favour of women, or any other group, is nothing more than another perversion of what is left of our laughable ‘justice system’.

Where’s The Dawk When You Actually Need Him?

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 8:32 am

In the midst of the faux controversy about Obama’s prayer note (did he deliberately release it to the press, or didn’t he), the ever-observant Melanie Phillips points out that there is, as usual, a gaping hole in the media where a fairly major story should be.

One final thought. President Bush was said to be a dangerous
nut-case because he allegedly spoke to God – ie, prayed – from whom he
imagined he was taking instructions. Barack Obama, however, has
actually asked the Almighty – in a handwritten note that he purportedly
imagines will be read by the Divine eyes — to

make me an instrument of your will.

Well now, there’s a point. An accusation by a former Palestinian Authority man and subseqently denied even by the PA themselves that Bush had proclaimed that he had heard the ‘voice of God’ was literally front page news in the Indie, complete with lurid speculation as to the possible mental health of the President. Yet, as Mel points out, there is nary a peep from them or any other MSM outlet when Obama says things like he is going to ‘heal the oceans’ or wishes to be an instrument of God’s will.

Bush’s supposed religious mania has been (no pun intended) an article of faith with the Left ever since that point, yet their great anti-religious champions such as the Dawk and the Indie are utterly silent on the matter, as they are with so many of the utterances of their new political Messiah. No such excoriation for Obama – once again the media proves that it is full of the most blatant hypocrisy imaginable.

THE DARK NIGHT…..

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 7:57 am

Did you read that the socialists that run  Spain has introduced a swingeing series of energy-saving measures which may be a foretaste of the kind of policies which will be forced upon an energy-hungry industrial world in the coming decades if we follow the green agenda? To howls of protests from motorists and mockery in parts of the press, the Socialist government plans to cut motorway speed limits to 50mph and town speeds to 25mph. New austerity rules will be imposed on the air conditioning and heating of all public buildings. Street-lighting will be cut by half. (Bet the criminals will just love that!) The lights are literally going out across Spain as the full implications of Greenism emerge. It is about State Control. It is the watermelon movement, green in the outside, red on the inside. How long before the lights start going out across the rest of Europe?

CHASING STATISTICS, NOT VILLAINS…

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 7:50 am

It’s not surprising to read that defence solicitors in England and Wales have warned
serious offenders are getting off lightly because police are chasing
performance targets, not villains!
Th
ey said on-the-spot fines and cautions are overused to boost convictions and avoid court cases. The latest Home Office figures for fixed penalties show a 37% increase in 2006, with a 17% rise in cautions.

The Ministry of Justice said “it is not always necessary” for crimes to be dealt with in court. You can say that again, particularly when the same neo-Orwellian Ministry is driven by a desire to manipulate the crime figures so that a worried populace is lulled into a false sense of security. It’s the same scam they use in the Education and Health areas – it is the corruption of statistics, the setting of targets that are then met by re-defining standards, and the ongoing amelioration of public confidence.

AN OLYMPIC SHAME…

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 7:44 am

Did you see that the Chinese government has confirmed what journalists arriving at the lavishly outfitted media center here had suspected: Contrary to previous assurances by Olympic and government officials, the Internet would be censored during the upcoming games. Since the Olympic Village press center opened Friday, reporters have been unable to access scores of Web pages – politically sensitive ones that discuss Tibetan succession, Taiwanese independence, the violent crackdown of the protests in Tiananmen Square and the sites of Amnesty International, Radio Free Asia and several Hong Kong newspapers known for their freewheeling political discourse. On Wednesday – two weeks after its most recent proclamation of an uncensored Internet during the Summer Games – the International Olympic Committee quietly agreed to some of the limitations, according to Kevan Gosper, chairman of the IOC press commission.

I think the IOC is a gutless immoral fraud. Going along with this outrageous Chinese political censorship is shocking.  There is much talk about the noble ideals of the Olympic movement but collusion with the tyrants that run China shows this to be just empty words. If the IOC cannot stand up for freedom, it should shove its’ rings.

ATTACK OF THE LADETTES…

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 7:17 am

The vulgarisation of our society is exemplified in the news that the number of violent attacks by women has doubled in just five years. Last year 87,200 women and girls were arrested for attacks – the equivalent of 240 every day. It is the first time in British history that violence has been the most common crime among women and girls, taking over from theft. The Ministry of Justice report, released quietly on to the internet yesterday after MPs had left for the summer recess, also includes alarming figures on the scale of violence by children.  Youngsters between ten and 17 were arrested for more than 230 violent attacks or muggings every day last year. The number of muggings alone leapt by 22 per cent, compared to the previous year, to 17,900 arrests. Violence against the person – which includes knife crime – was up by almost four per cent, to 67,000 arrests.

The reality is that the rise of the binge-drinking anything goes culture has now produced a widespread societal lack of respect for the rule of law and a lack of self-respect.  So what if you get drunk and attack someone? Men, women and children are all coarsened by this prevailing climate of moral relativism and the crime figures tell the awful tale.

WHERE DOES THE HATRED COME FROM?

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 7:10 am

I see that  there was a 9% rise in anti-Semitic incidents in the UK in the first half of 2008 compared with the same period last year, a charity has reported. Incidents involving Jewish students or academics and at colleges rose 88%. The question that is not asked is who is committing these acts of racist hatred?  Is there a particular section within overall British society that hates the Jews with a vengeance? If so, why is the media so coy about detailing who the offenders are?

A QUESTION OF LUDICRIS JUDGEMENT…

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 6:53 am

Obama is on record as as stating that Ludacris is one of his favourite rappers and has him on heavy rotation on his iPod. He has said he likes Ludacris’ ‘artistry’. The two met one time and discussed family values and being a good role model. So, Ludicris has released a new song demonstrating his “artistry” ……

“Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant,” say the lyrics

. “McCain don’t belong in ANY chair unless he’s paralyzed Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped.”

The song also celebrates Obama’s rise. “The first black president is destined and it’s meant to be,” go the lyrics, calling on voters to “paint the White House black.

Naturally the Chosen One has been forced to come out and  condemn this ludicrous song but the fact is that here is a man, Ludacris, who Obama has presented as a role model and his judgement has proven seriously flawed. Not for the first time. Remember The Rev Jeremiah Wright – the race-hater who was Obama’s spiritual guru?

Too many examples of too little judgement.

Who Are More Intolerant? Liberals or Conservatives?

By ATWadmin On July 31st, 2008 at 4:10 am

I think Liberals are far more intolerant than Conservatives, or Republicans.  A few small examples: as  a resident of “Hollywood,” a Conservative, and a Republican,  I have been humiliated at dinner parties when like-minded liberals whisper in front of me regarding my “unsavory” political beliefs.  Driving around town with a Republican bumper sticker is an invitation for a car “keying”  and rude hand gestures.  I know Boy Scouts who have been called “Nazis” because they were wearing their uniforms. … I could go on, but I won’t.

Orson Bean was a Communist in Hollywood during the 1950’s and is now a conservative Republican. Orson Bean agrees  with me regarding the intolerance of the present-day Liberal. Quoting Orson, Andrew Breitbart writes:

“When the blacklist hit, I saw actors walk across the street to avoid me. The doorman at 485 Madison Avenue (former CBS headquarters) turned his back as I walked by. But I never felt hated by the ring-wing blacklisters. They just felt we were terribly wrong,” he said.

“These days, the left doesn’t just disagree with right-wingers – they hate them. People actually shudder when I tell them I’m a Republican. I should have to carry a bell and yell, ‘unclean.’ It doesn’t bother me, though. I’ve been on both ends. Being hated is like voodoo. It only works if you feel hated. And I just won’t. I know it will pass.”
