Alaska Senator Ted “Gimme Shelter for Free” Stevens has just been convicted on for felony corruption counts by a jury.  Alaska’s best dressed Maverick Sarah Palin has refused to say whether she will vote for him or not in this election.  He’s running for re-election  as a Senator.  Stevens is a Republican whose held control in Alaska for decades.  One would think that a maverick might come out a tad more strongly against him in order to help clean up Washington.  But Sarah says he’ll do the right thing.  Does she know what that is? 

As I write this, there is sleet falling outside and it is only a few degrees above freezing! I’m also packing my sun-tan lotion  as I am going to be away from ATW for the next week on a much needed vacation.

However I wanted to provide you with some material even though I will not be around. So starting tomorrow there will be contributions from me on various topics, longer than normal but hopefully worth a read! Call it a state of the nations….

I do not put my faith in polls but was interested to study the demographics behind the latest IBD/TIPP polling data insofar as it shows Obama with a 3.2% lead (Wow – where’s the landslide, Dem’s) which is presumably within a margin of error that could mean McCain wins.

But more interestingly than that is the fact that Obama seems to carry the majority of female voters who are black. It is a remarkably skewed demographic – with large numbers – and it could swing the election result to The One. This raises the interesting question – with 81% of black voters stating that they are solidly in the Obama camp, does that mean that we can now state that black people vote along racial lines without being called racist? Does skin colour matter more to blacks than whites? There is a story here but the MSM does not seek to pursue it since it shares the same objective of a black man in the White House. I could not care less what a Presidential candidates skin colour is – it is the policies that matter. But it does seem that a large number of black Americans hold a different view. Has their hour come?

I was shocked to read of the assault on two blind brothers in North Belfast..

“A BLIND man has spoken about how he feared for his life when two “nasty” burglars broke into his house and assaulted him and his brother. George Sloan was left with a broken arm and bruising to his body when the two men forced their way into the north Belfast home he shares with his brother Stephen on Sunday night. Stephen, also blind, suffered a black eye and extensive bruising to his body.”

Here’s a simple question for you. If you have gotten yourself into trouble by borrowing beyond your means, what course of action SHOULD you take?

If you listen to the UK PM Gordon Brown – the saviour of the economic universe – you should borrow and spend even more. That is how to succeed in a recession.

This form of economic idiocy is called Keynsism and it is now back in vogue having been thoroughly descredited for more than thirty years ago. The very fact that othewise sensible people now parrot the praises of this madness demonstrates that there are none so blind as those who do not wish to see.

The government has suggested, with a straight-face, that the British taxpayer will see the repayment of the colossal £50 billion loan it has afforded British banks. Oh really?

“Britain’s banks may need to raise capital above and beyond the £50 billion of taxpayer-underwritten money already earmarked for them. The Bank of England’s report into financial stability today suggests that a recession as severe as that of the early 1990s would lead to credit losses of £130 billion for Britain’s six biggest financial institutions and possibly wipe out the entire government-backed funding package. The losses were predicted for the country’s five biggest banks and the Nationwide Building Society if mortgage arrears and business failures rise as high as in the last recession.”

I think there is EVERY liklihood that arrears will surge and business failures rocket – so kiss bye bye to £50 BILLION and thank the Prudence of the Government which told you it would be paid back.

It’s an amazing story. As Richard Littlejohn puts it…

But that is the point. Without this kind of self-perpetuating dysfunctionalism where would the army of social workers be?

In a demonstration of the hopelessly dysfunctional thinking that distinguishes the political left it is said  that Britain should adopt a policy of positive discrimination in favour of disadvantaged whites or face a backlash of right-wing extremism. So Trevor Phillips, the head of the Equality watchdog, has warned.

Is he mad? We need to stop this anally retentive obsession with faux equality. We are NOT all equal in terms of our employment skills – fact. And yet..

“Mr Phillips argues that ministers should allow councils and education authorities to introduce measures favouring young whites unable to compete with highly-skilled immigrants and he says the financial crisis could trigger anti-immigrant feeling in the UK.”

So, we should weight the system and ensure that the less skilled candidates get the job – or there will be race riots. Complete nonsense. I also wonder about all these “highly skilled immigrants” that Phillips refers to? Are they the same tens of thousands working in the fields,  cleaning toilets, serving in cafes……or even clogging up the likes of the NHS with their highly skilled ability to take patients blood whilst chatting on their mobile phones?

I oppose all forms of institutional employment discrimination and yet this is bizarrely what Phillips will bring about if he anyone listens to him. The best man/woman should get the job. End of story.

Ever since Gordon Brown brought back the spin-meisters behind the Blair years we have started to see the same tortured doublespeak from Government.

Yesterday, Jack Straw – our “Justice” Secretary – said he was sick of  the criminal justice lobby putting the rights of criminals ahead of their victims. This was unusual to say the least seeing as how Jack Straw has been to the fore in promoting the Labour concept that criminals are just friends you haven’t met yet for well over a decade. Did ANYBODY believe a word he uttered?

Today, Jacqui Smith will announce “tougher measures” to exclude “extremists” such as neo-Nazis, holocaust deniers, certain animal rights activists and religious extremists from the UK.  One presumes that Muslims hate preachers are bundled into the latter category. Thing is, this is the same government which has sat back and allowed hundreds of Islamic  mullahs to come here and set up shop  without so much as a murmur of dissent. Now, magically, they plan to get tough. Also note the use of neo-nazis and holocaust deniers to obviate the notion that somehow, someway, this government of fools might ACTUALLY do something that offends the ROP.

In the coming months, you can expect more of this as NuLabour purposely stands reality on its head and annouces new policies which are diametrically opposed – in tone only – to current policies. This is how Gordon Brown – the man who has brought this country to its financial knees – is hailed as the economic saviour of the universe. Either the British people are supremely stupid and swallow all these lies OR  the day of judgement draws closer for the wicked government. We shall see.

Next up – Labour to announce it will stand up for small business against EU red tape, Labour to defend British fishing interests, and Labour to declare it is a steadfast ally of Israel….

In the 1950s, Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev made the bold statement “We will bury you without firing a shot.” No one knew exactly what he meant at the time, but we can now see that Russian Marxist-Leninism has manifested itself within not just the Democrat Party at the national level, but within our Congress and Senate and most of our government institutions. Their goals are being achieved, and they have yet to fire a shot. And they are being supported by good Americans who as dyed-in-the-wool Yellow Dog Democrats, simply because his daddy was, and his grandpappy, No other reason. Just vote Democrat.

Since the time Kruschev made that statement It is now about to come to pass.

Senator Joe McCarthy (R-Wis) who conducted investigations in the 1950s for the Senate Anti-American Activities Committee was viciously attacked when he tried to expose Communists in various positions in politics, entertainment, the media and the business world. One example was Alger Hiss, who was a key player in the formation of the United Nations, and who later proved to be a spy for the Soviet Union, just as McCarthy alleged. But the media attack on “Tailgunner Joe” McCarthy and his committee was relentless and to this day, McCarthy and his “McCarthyism” is synonymous with “witch hunt.”

In fact, McCarthy was correct one extreme-left socialist organization that follows doctrine is the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Members of this group include such leftists as: Barbara Lee, Lynn Woolsey, founder Bernie Sanders, Jan Schakowsky, John Conyers, Maurice Hinchey, George Miller, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Bob Filner, Diane DeGette, Alcee Hastings, John Lewis, Patsy Mink, Jesse Jackson Jr. III, John Conyers, Jerrold Nadler, Jamor Owens, Charles Rangel, Dennis Kucinch, Sherrod Brown, Peter DeFazio, Robert C. Scott, James McDermitt, and Barney Frank, to name a few. There are more than fifty members to date, all Democrats. And the most socialistic (read “Communistic”) of our politicians are a band of rabid anti-American socialists: Charles Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Fienstein, Frank Lautenburg, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Harry Reid and others, all Democrats. Of note is the fact that the Communist Party of the USA and the Chinese Communist Party “endorsed” John Kerry in the last election.

A country consists of four major things, Energy, Mineral Resources, Food, and Industry. How it manages them determines the nations success. Since the 50s those resources have been missmanaged largely due to the Democrat party and it’s policies.

The Democrat party has destroyed these 4 basic things with regulation, taxes and lawsuits. The US has lost to the old Soviet Union even though it no longer exists. We are one of the only nations in the world that have enough of the 4 to not only be self sufficient, but to feed and fuel half the rest of the world with our surpluses. If the Obamanation wins, the shoe banging of Kruschev will have been brought to full fruition.

Any country that makes it illegal to use what God has given it to it’s full advantage is doomed. We were blessed by God but damned internally by our own Bolsheviks.
