Now here are the words of a British patriot. I refer to Sir Gulam Noon…

“After his father died when he was 10, he worked in the family sweet shop in Bombay until he had enough experience to start a chain. Within 40 years of arriving in London and falling in love with Piccadilly Circus he was producing a quarter of a million curries a day for British supermarkets and turning over £100 million a year. He supports England, rather than India, in Test matches but he has never lost his love of his birthplace, to which he regularly returns. This week he was staying at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel when it was attacked by terrorists.

As a moderate Muslim he is horrified by the rise of extremism in Islam. “This isn’t real Islam — there is no religion or caste or creed that believes it is right to terrorise people.” The British Government should, in his view, be much harder on extremists. “Britain is a soft target because we are mollycoddling these people. You start mollycoddling them and they take it as a sign of weakness. I have told all the Home Secretaries you send 50 imams back home and that will send a very strong signal. Forget about their human rights — what about our human rights? They don’t fit in my society.”

Excellent comments from a genuine BRITISH entrepreneur. You can be sure government will ignore him.

We touched on this the other day and it is NOT going away…

“Until the other day, it was regarded as harmless to nip across the Irish border to pick up a bargain. Now suddenly it is being denounced as “the ultimate act of patriotic sabotage”. A heated battle between patriotism and the purse is breaking out in the Irish Republic as the Irish government struggles to overcome its greatest economic challenge in decades. And things are so bad in southern Ireland that those who motor into Northern Ireland to shop are being publicly pressurised to confine their purchases to their own jurisdiction.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Eibhlin Byrne is among those urging an exercise of “civic patriotism” and asking people not to cross the border to pick up Christmas bargains. She declared yesterday: “These are critical times. People need to be aware that when they make the decision to go north they are taking their spending out of the city and there will be repercussions.” So far, such appeals have had little visible effect, since the signs are that more southerners than ever are making their way north since the collapse in the value of sterling against the euro.”

There can be only one solution. Time to erect a 20 foot tall policed border between North and South and make sure that the unpatriotic Irish are hemmed in rather than permitted to enter the shopping nirvana that is Northern Ireland. Either that or drop Irish VAT from 21.5% to 15%. Oh, and leave the Eurozone.

Excellent article by Chris Booker on Obama’s eco-suicide plans..

“If the holder of the most powerful office in the world proposed a policy guaranteed to inflict untold damage on his own country and many others, on the basis of claims so demonstrably fallacious that they amount to a string of self-deluding lies, we might well be concerned. The relevance of this is not to President Bush, as some might imagine, but to a recent policy statement by President-elect Obama.”

Say it ain’t so…

“Tomorrow, delegates from 190 countries will meet in Poznan, Poland, to pave the way for next year’s UN conference in Copenhagen at which the world will agree a successor to the Kyoto Protocol on climate change. They will see a video of Mr Obama, in only his second major policy commitment, pledging that America is now about to play the leading role in the fight to “save the planet” from global warming. Mr Obama begins by saying that “the science is beyond dispute and the facts are clear”. “Sea levels,” he claims, “are rising, coastlines are shrinking, we’ve seen record drought, spreading famine and storms that are growing stronger with each passing hurricane season.” Far from the science being “beyond dispute”, we can only deduce from this that Mr Obama has believed all he was told by Al Gore’s wondrously batty film An Inconvenient Truth without bothering to check the facts. Each of these four statements is so wildly at odds with the truth that on this score alone we should be seriously worried.”

I fully agree with Chris Booker when he concludes..

“Alarming though it may be that the next US President should have fallen for all this claptrap, much more worrying is what he proposes to do on the basis of such grotesque misinformation. For a start he plans to introduce a “federal cap and trade system”, a massive “carbon tax”, designed to reduce America’s CO2 emissions “to their 1990 levels by 2020 and reduce them an additional 80 per cent by 2050”. Such a target, which would put America ahead of any other country in the world, could only be achieved by closing down a large part of the US economy.

Mr Obama floats off still further from reality when he proposes spending $15 billion a year to encourage “clean energy” sources, such as thousands more wind turbines. He is clearly unaware that wind energy is so hopelessly ineffective that the 10,000 turbines America already has, representing “18 gigawatts of installed capacity”, only generate 4.5GW of power, less than that supplied by a single giant coal-fired power station.

He talks blithely of allowing only “clean” coal-fired power plants, using “carbon capture” – burying the CO2 in holes in the ground – which would double the price of electricity, but the technology for which hasn’t even yet been developed. He then babbles on about “generating five million new green jobs”. This will presumably consist of hiring millions of Americans to generate power by running around on treadmills, to replace all those “dirty” coal-fired power stations which currently supply the US with half its electricity.

If this sounds like an elaborate economic suicide note, for what is still the earth’s richest nation, it is still not enough for many environmentalists.”

I always find Jenny McCartney an interesting read and once again she proves well worth your attention….

As you walk down any British high street this month, you will hear their sibilant voices whispering in your ear. They will be saying “Go on, you deserve it” or “Isn’t it really time you upgraded to a superior model?” or “Why not get another one in the same colour?” They are the voices of Messrs Brown and Darling, and you may very well choose to ignore them. The Prime Minister and his Chancellor are desperate for Britons to carry on spending like it’s 1999, even as the thunder-clouds of unemployment and repossession mass over our bowed heads. Their logic appears to be that if we all try our hardest to pretend that a recession isn’t here, it might just give up and go away. The trouble is, of course, that if it doesn’t – and surely even Brown and Darling can’t honestly believe that it will – then the brave, patriotic folks who are out doughtily splashing their endangered cash around this Christmas are going to end up in an even worse fix than everyone else.”

Jenny is quite right. The Brown plan is insane and yet it is being positioned as the only solution to the woes that afflict our economy. When in a borrowing led recession, you stop borrowing.  Unless, that is you forget why the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was so generous with the sweeties…

A banned Islamic terrorist group funded with cash raised in British mosques is believed to be behind the Bombay attacks. Kashmiri separatists Lashkar-e-Taiba, ‘The Army of the Righteous’, which has strong links to Al Qaeda, is accused of previous terrorist outrages in India. And intercepted telephone and radio communications before and during the latest attacks apparently suggest a link. The UK link to Jihad attacks is no surprise. After all the UK government seeks to deny that there is even such a thing as Islamic terrorism, it is in thrall to Islamic advocates and it shows little self-awareness that the UK itself – through it’s Pakistani connections –  is terror central.

I see that British men and women are now the most promiscuous of any big western industrial nation, researchers have found.

In an international index measuring one-night stands, total numbers of partners and attitudes to casual sex, Britain comes out ahead of Australia, the US, France, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany. The researchers behind the study say high scores such as Britain’s may be linked to the way society is increasingly willing to accept sexual promiscuity among women as well as men. They also believe that, among certain age groups and at certain times, men and women are equally liberal. The researchers say that cultural developments have meant women are now as able to engage in no-strings sex as men. “Historically we have repressed women’s short-term mating and there are all sorts of double standards out there where men’s short-term mating was sort of acceptable but women’s wasn’t,” said David Schmitt, a professor of psychology at Bradley University, Illinois, who oversaw the research.

So, promiscuity is just dandy in 21st century Britain. The decay of Christianity, the breakdown of the family  unit, the anything goes moral relativism, the lack of fidelitym, the acceleration in STD’s, the rocketing of abortions –  what a triumph for liberals! And even better, British women sleep around as casually as British men.  Equality at last.

SOUND ADVICE for anyone caught up in a Bombay-style siege –

National Security Guard chief J.K. Dutt Saturday appealed to people who find themselves in a hostage situation to draw open the curtains of their hotel rooms to enable them to be quickly identified by rescuers.

“Please draw out your curtains if you are caught in a situation like this. It makes the work of security agencies much easier,” he told reporters here.

You’ll know me, chum. Just look out for a fella wearing a leprechaun hat, waving an Irish passport, performing Riverdance at the window while holding a pint of Guinness. However it looks like some people rather went beyond drawing the curtains.

“We get to know who the genuine guests are and our snipers can neutralise any terrorists that are there in other rooms,” he added.

Neutralise away mate, neutralise away. Neutralise all day and all night, however you like.

Besides Politics

I have a passion for Graphic Novels, in other words Mega Comic Books. I have been a fan since I was a wee yonker. Before my reading became obsessed with history I read comic books still do today except the ones I read are now called Graphic novels.

My favorite has always been the Batman. In an article I saw in the Sun they say they are going to kill him off. I find this quite disturbing especially in the manner that they are choosing.

THE world’s most famous comic book hero has breathed his last Bat breath.

Bruce Wayne – who by night is Batman – gets murdered by a man claiming to be the father he thought was dead.

I find the whole thing very disturbing. Below is one of my very first posts as a Blogger. I hope you enjoy or at least comment.

The True symbol of The US

The true symbol that represents the US is not uncle Sam, or the Eagle. The Flag may be our label but the symbol of the Heart of America is embodied in one of our comic book hero’s. The Batman. Think about it he is just a man after all yet he fights for what he feels is right. He doesn’t fight fair, he scares the hell out of those that he chooses to oppose. No super powers, just determination, an unbreakable will, a lot of really neat high tech gadgets. and the willingness to get bloody in the fight for justice. With an inner heart that truly believes that he can make a difference along with the understanding that he must do what he does because he can. Like him we are viewed as the vigilante and like him we don’t care because the rules weren’t made so as to allow evil to get away with evil even though that is how other nations seem to want to apply those rules. So you must sometimes break the rules for what is good and right. the end can justify the means.
