Watching the talking head programs, and reading the headlines I tried to place the time period whenthe Democrats truly lost the American Dream.

They have always had a leaning toward communism, being the original party for labour you would expect that and understand it. The communists have always walked hand in hand with them, whether they called themselves communists or progressives. Other than the fact that as an economic system it doesn’t work I can understand the attraction to the false ideals that it offers, and why there will always be people drawn to pursue it.

However I don’t understand how regular people like Mahon’s (just because I know your a D, nothing personal) can sit back and watch their party be destroyed. Do they believe as this current administration does, that white America is responsible for all the evils in the world? Do they no longer believe in the Republic, as it is undermined by the appointment of non elected people making policy decisions? Do they honestly believe that making a profit is bad? Do they really think that the best course for this country is the complete dismantling of our infrastructure by denying it the lifes blood of oil that it needs to function? Lastly do they think that the way of fixing health care billing for 15% is to remove health care for the other 85%?

When did they lose their minds?

Allow me to let you into a secret. I wake up to Sir Terry Wogan each morning. To be precise, to his BBC Radio 2 show! There are MANY things I dislike about the BBC but Wogan has been a gem in their tarniashed crown.

His constant good humour, non pc views and eccentricity appeal to me, and millions of others, called TOGS (Terry’s Old Gits!) but comes the news he is stepping down next year. This is sad but not unexpected news. Even worse is the revelations that Terry will be replaced by Chris Evans. Oh god. Nope – I will not be tuning in from next year and I forecast ratings will plummet as those of us who prefer the Wogan blarney seek other destinations for our wake up call.

The reason that the Equality and Human Rights Commission exists is to create grievance that the Equality and Human Rights Commission can then investigate, to the general delight of the political left.

And so it is today we see the silly headline that Women earn around 80% less than men in performance-related pay at some of the UK’s leading finance companies, revealing a “shocking disparity”, according to an official inquiry by the Equalityand Human Rights Commission.

What is shocking is that this unelected quango takes our taxes and then produces this sort of third rate garbage dressed up as an enquiry.

Let’s cut through the nonsense here.

For starters, the 80% headline grabbing figure is contrived by implying that women who, off their own choice, take considerable (paid) time out of their jobs should somehow, magically, be in receipt of the same bonus payments as men who do not. The propensity to earn is lessened by the obvious career-break, is that not clear? It also suggests that there are numerically the same number of women as men at the highest level of decision-making in these organisations if the financial comparison is to be validated. There are not. Why? Please check out the number of women who take time out of their career structure compared to the number of men who do so.

The feministas behind this are trying to suggest that “big business” discriminates against women. It doesn’t. The legal consequences of such discrimination are already legion but there is also a more fundamental point here; those who work longest, hardest and most successfully are entitled to earn more than the average, be they male, female or otherwise. It is in the State Sector mindset epitomised by this Commission that everyone must be on the same pay scale, get the same rewards regardless of other circumstances, and yet take as much time out of the business as they want.

Effective Companies reward success – that is what most irks the leftists behind this report. To them, this is almost criminal behaviour and so they use faux reports such as this to blacken the reputation of the Financial sector further (And mind you, it has done plenty itself in that regard!) and advance their “equality” agenda which is little more than the subversion of capitalism.

I see that former PSNI Chief Contable Sir Hugh Orde has said that “life should mean life” when it comes to the sentencing of murderers.

Apart from in Northern Ireland, where life did not mean life and where released convicted murderers and convicted bombers all represent part of the rich legacy that Sir Hugh leaves behind.

Hypocrite.

I always welcome fresh economic thinking on the state of the US economy and here is an interesting article that we can be sure the MSM will ignore. Writing of Obama’s approach… 

His policies even have the potential to consign the US to a similar fate as Argentina, which suffered a painful and humiliating slide from first to Third World status last century, the paper says.

There are “troubling similarities” between the US President’s actions since taking office and those which in the 1930s sent the US and much of the world spiralling into the worst economic collapse in recorded history, says the new pamphlet, published by the Institute of Economic Affairs.

In particular, the authors, economists Charles Rowley of George Mason University and Nathanael Smith of the Locke Institute, claim that the White House’s plans to pour hundreds of billions of dollars of cash into the economy will undermine it in the long run. They say that by employing deficit spending and increased state intervention President Obama will ultimately hamper the long-term growth potential of the US economy and may risk delaying full economic recovery by several years.

The study represents a challenge to the widely held view that Keynesian fiscal policies helped the US recover from the Depression which started in the early 1930s.

The authors say: “[Franklin D Roosevelt's] interventionist policies and draconian tax increases delayed full economic recovery by several years by exacerbating a climate of pessimistic expectations that drove down private capital formation and household consumption to unprecedented lows.”

I would further add that anyone who believes that the Keynesian fiscal policies helped the US economy recover in the 1930′s is living in a fools paradise. Obama, encouraged by a largely economically ignorant media and political class, IS making the same mistakes that FDR made but just as FDR was arrogant so is Obama. There is no pleasure in watching the US sink to the same level as economic wrecks like Argentina but unless common sense prevails then that is exactly where it is headed. You cannot spend yourself out of spending induced depression. 

Did you read that more than 250 primary schools will have to be built over the next four years to provide places for the children of migrants?

An MPs’ pressure group said the schools will be needed for 67,000 children who have a foreign-born parent and the cost to taxpayers will be around £1billion. The bill for the schools is just one element of the impact on taxpayers and families of ‘uncontrolled immigration’, the Cross Party Group on Balanced Migration said.

Birmingham’s top Muslim leader urged his followers to “vent their feelings” against anti-Islamic protesters during a weekend rally that ended in violence and dozens of arrests.

Muslims were encouraged by the Birmingham Central Mosque to counter-demonstrate during Saturday’s protest in the city, which was organised by the patriotic English Defence League (EDL).

It is understood that Muslims were encouraged to confront the protest against the advice given by the West Midlands Police to community leaders to stop their followers from attending. 

Mohammad Naseem, Birmingham Central Mosque’s chairman, considered to be the most senior community leader in the West Midlands region, said yesterday that he encouraged members of his “congregation” to attend the rally, at which about 80 people were arrested, to express the Islamic community’s solidarity.

Solidarity with what? And any sign of those moderate Muslims condemning such violent confrontation? Or might it be that Naseem is the authentic voice for Muslims in this region – determined to confront any Brit who dares to stand up to Islamic aggression?

It just gets worse.

Their time has gone. It is his promise, Allah shall prevail this religion over the rest.“There are tens of millions of Muslims in the European continent and the number is on the increase. The number of indigenous Europeans is falling drastically.“This is the clear indication that the European continent will be converted to Islam. Europe will one day be a Muslim continent.”

A mock funeral was held yesterday in Pleasanton, California to bury the HealthCare Bill, and the Cap and Trade (Global Warming) Bill.

It was campy political theater, complete with black-clothed mourners, a line of hearses, a eulogy, and a rousing rendition of “God Bless America.” Newsbusters reports:

Accompanied by a limousine and about 40 cars, the funeral procession began across the street from Rep. Jerry McNerney’s (D-Cal.) office, travelling through Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, and Alamo, making a brief stop at Rep. Pete Stark’s (D-Cal.) office before ending at the Lone Tree Cemetery in the Hayward hills.
