My father died three years ago on this date. Of course I miss him and this is for his memory.
I try to do what is right and of course I often fail but I hope he would be proud of me.
And Millions of Gallons of Oil pour into the Sea due to his inaction, Everyone in the South will be Suffering From This.
David Kernell, son of a longtime State Democratic Senator from Tennessee, hacked into Sarah Palin’s email account while she campaigned on the Republican ticket during the 2008 Presidential elections. After gaining access to her account, he changed her password to “popcorn.”
Kernell has been found guilty of felony destruction of records to hamper a federal investigation and misdemeanor unlawfully obtaining information from a protected computer.
There appears to be “more than a tenuous connection between David and Barack Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe.”
Sinn Fein/IRA published their General Election manifesto. Some of the commitments, such as those on transport, payments to cancer sufferers and extending free school meals are entirely possible. Others, such as the desire for a referendum on ending the United Kingdom, introuding the euro within Northern Ireland and a harmonised Corporation Tax rate are simply unachievable garbage – and the Shinners know it. Whatever realms of unreconstructed fantasy these aims are anchored in, there is one point that for me stands out above all others and gives the truth to what this party is beneath the unconvincing veneer of peace processor groupies. On policing and justice, Sinn Fein/IRA state the following:
‘The removal of MI5 operation and an end to the Serious Organised Crime Agency.’
Like the referendum and the euro pledges, this objective is about as possible as a reincarnation of Elvis. MI5’s most important centre outside of London is located at Palace Barracks. In my opinion this building is the single most important totem of the endurance of the Union. You don’t open a base of this importance if you think your sovereign remit is going to come to an end in the foreseeable future. However, the pledge to remove both MI5 and SOCA speaks volumes about the unadulterated reliance purely on democratic means.
Sinn Fein/IRA saw to it that the most important intelligence gathering structures of the RUC were abolished at their behest. Consequently, so-called ‘dissident’ republicans now pose a more dangerous threat to the social structure of Northern Ireland than at any time since the Omagh bombing. MI5 and SOCA, whatever their imperfections, are at the forefront of the fight against these monsters. Rather than support their aims, Sinn Fein want to end their role. We can only conclude from this that Sinn Fein – even if we take them at their word that there is no link between them and the new waves of republican killers (a contention as shady as Eminem’s nickname in my book) – actually do not want the total destruction of the ability of Irish republicanism to perpetuate terrorism in one guise or another, as they can incrementally make new demands on the excuse that violence can be ended or substantially lessened by UK government acquiescence to such demands.
Irish republicanism, like Islamic fundamentalism, thrives on instability and division. If these conditions did not exist, republicans would have to invent them. The last thing Sinn Fein wants, notwithstanding dubious claims to the contrary, is a fully-functioning Northern Ireland polity totally at ease with itself. For so long as the incubus of violent republicanism hovers in the background, operating under whatever ridiculous title its adherents can pluck from the dictionary of delusional self-importance, then for so long will Sinn Fein have a proxy Sword of Damocles to hold over the heads of everyone else. Thanks to the treachery of the DUP, a future Minster of Justice with this mentality could be in place within a few years. Sobering, eh?
I have a dream that the Democrat Party in America will stop provoking and lying about Tea Party racism that doesn’t exist. And I have a dream that the Congresssional Black Caucus will apologize for making up the story that racial epithets were hurled at them by the Tea Party crowd protesting the ObamaCare bill. I have a dream that the Democrat Party and the statist Left will allow lawful assembly and valid, honest disagreement by the opposition, without trying to intimidate. I have a dream.
In the meantime:
A reality check here for those who suggest that now is NOT the time to take action against the ever-rising public sector debt…
An increase in the retirement age from an average ago of 53 to 67, a three-year wage freeze and cuts in public sector pay are understood to be among the austerity measures agreed to by the Greek Government in exchange for a €24 billion (£21 billion) rescue package. The measures include severe cuts in Civil Service wages, with public servants losing their “13th and 14th” months’ salary and pension entitlements, a reduction of state benefits and tax increases on alcohol and tobacco to help cut the deficit.
Did you see that Belgium became the first European country to impose a full ban on wearing a burka last night.
Its parliament approved a draft law which states women can be jailed for hiding their faces in public. The bill – which must be rubber-stamped by the Belgian senate – is set to become law by July. Centre-Right MP Daniel Bacquelaine said last night: ‘The notion of recognising people in the street is essential to maintain public order. ‘It’s also a question of human dignity. The full face veil turns a woman into a walking prison.’
A sensible decision by Belgium. Or does this make them bigots?
The hyping of Alliance East Belfast candidate Naomi Long continues, now she is being cast as a cartoon superhero! Up up and away, bolding travelling into a shared future vacccum, powered by hotair.
I was shocked to read that well known Irish broadcaster Gerry Ryan has been found dead. I have met Gerry a few times, enjoyed his programmes, and am sorry to read this.
