It’s obvious that the Eurozone as currently constructed cannot sustain itself. In the process small countries like the Republic of Ireland are being consumed from within on a bonfire of economic vanity and folly in equal measure.

The Irish Times reports that the European Central Bank yesterday denied claims that it was close to calling for the activation of the eurozone rescue package for Ireland.

EUobserver notes that the move would run contrary to the framework agreement for the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), which says that member states must first make an application for aid before the ECB and the European Commission can make a decision.

However, concerns over the stability of Ireland’s economy are mounting as rating agency Moody’s yesterday downgraded Anglo Irish Bank’s rating to Baa3, just one notch above junk status, reports CityAM. The Irish government announced that it will disclose the final expenses of bailing out Anglo Irish Bank this week to try to calm investors’ concerns.

An article in the Irish Independent reports that German MEP Sven Giegold has said that Ireland now has a “moral responsibility” to change its tax policy and stop operating as a haven for tax evaders.

Part of the Celtic Tiger’s growth was based on Ireland’s attractive tax climate but it looks like the ending of this is part of the price being asked to bail out bankrupt Ireland. I take no pleasure from this whatsoever as I want to see the Republic prosper but it seems to me that it is the EURO itself which is killing off any prospect of Irish economic recovery.

The inherent absurdity of the political relationship between Peter Robinson and his co First Minister “Machine Gun” McGuinness is laid bare yet again today for all the world to see. Naturally the lapdog MSM will not focus on this unduly, so I will.

You see Peter and Marty are off the London today to meet with George Osborne and the discussion will be about the local economy. Mr Robinson said that they would probably also discuss the dissident terrorist threat and the importance of ensuring that there is adequate financial resourcing put against it. McGuinness, true to form and showing just what a statesman he is, said that this was just a “notion“ Robinson had and that it would NOT be discussed at this meeting.

Several points here to be made;

1. If McGuinness says is won’t be discussed than it won’t be discussed. Speaks volumes about who calls the shots, if you’ll pardon the pun. 

2. What is it about seeking to provide sufficient resources to fight TERRORISM that offends McGuinness so? (Apart from his lifelong commitment to terrorism, that is)

3. The prima facie evidence of a First and co-First Minister who cannot agree on even such a basic thing as providing adequate financial resources to protect the citizens of this land from republican killers proves the utter dysfunctionalism that lies at the top of government.

Machine Gun McGuinness is “putting manners” on the DUP and the latter are so fixated on power that they go along with it.

Led by the enemies from within, the communists that have been working to destroy America from within are having two rallies on October 2nd. One in D.C. and one in LA. The Idea was to provide an opposition demonstration to Becks Rally, but where Becks Rally was a call to Faith, this March is a call to hate and intimidation.

Paid Union Activists, the Gullible, and the Criminal will all be there. In a last chance gasp to muster the rabble before the Election they will cry, and try in their desperation to stem the flow of blood that will figuratively flow from their political throats in November.

Except the Republicans don’t have enough votes in Either House of our Government to block ANYTHING.

“The DUP leader Peter Robinson has said legislation to replace the Parades Commission has been put on hold after the Orange Order refused to review their decision to reject it.

First Minister Peter Robinson said it is now inevitable that the Parades Commission will be reappointed for another year. 

“I am disappointed by the outcome as considerable effort was made at Hillsborough to solve the issues around parades and protests. 

“We had developed a new and improved framework to deal with parades. ”This framework was based on specifications outlined by the Orange Order,” he added.

Oh yes, with such top notch “negotiators” as Jeffrey Donaldson and Stephen Moutray, how COULD the Orange Order not have jumped at the prospect of…erm…legislation which would have threatened civil liberty and freedom to protest for EVERYONE? The DUP roll over has not been complete thanks to those in the Orange Order who have wisely refused to do Robinson’s bidding.

JIM Allister has strongly indicated that he wants to personally fight next year’s assembly election, as the TUV saves money for the election battle. The TUV leader, who many pundits assumed would leave politics after losing heavily to Ian Paisley Jnr in North Antrim at the general election, said he wanted to see the TUV fight across the province.

With the DUP presiding over savage cuts and a shattered economy, the UUP trying to hold their middle with the liberals within it worrying about the big issues such as GAA games, I think it reasonable that positive principled unionism is there for the electorate, don’t you? 

Thing is, you can’t buck the market! Keynesians please note!

Demand for UK housing dropped by 2.9pc in September, which is the third month in a row that demand has fallen.

The survey, by Hometrack, also shows that the volume of buyers registering with agents has fallen by 6.5pc over the month of September to date.

The average time that a property is on the market is 9.3 weeks, the highest level for a year. This compared with an average time of 8.9 weeks in August and 8.7 weeks in July. The increase is due to the widening gap between supply and demand. Over the past six months the supply of homes for sale has grown by 16pc while demand has fallen by 1.6pc.

This is nothing to be worried about and is a long overdue correction to what was a grotesquely overheated property balloon. Mind you, anyone foolish enough to have bought in August 2007 will have to wait for about another decade to get BACK what they spent!

I for one would like to see British Service Personnel applauded in OUR airports. I would like to see our Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen in Full Uniform whilst they on leave, so that they may be thanked by the general public.

Thanked for performing the truly thankless task handed them by the scum who pose as politicians.  Instead of being ordered to stay in ‘civvies’ for the duration of their leave, in case they may be attacked!
