GENERATION RAUNCH
By David Vance On June 1st, 2012 at 12:27 pmPorn may be more readily available today than at any time in history care of this Internet thing but just how corrosive is it of young minds?
A generation of youngsters may be developing a skewed view of sex from pornography, a court has heard, after a 12-year-old schoolboy raped and sexually assaulted a younger girl after copying a hardcore film he watched on the internet. The High Court in Edinburgh heard the boy, now aged 14, was allowed “unfettered” access to adult websites before forcing a nine-year-old to perform a sex act on him.
My question is who letS a 12 year old have “unfettered access” to hard core porn? If the answer is his parents then one wonders should they also not face a day in Court? There are two issues here; Accessibility and Responsibility. As regards the first, we have to accept that porn is everywhere on the net so a filter that stops children accessing it seems a wise investment. And that brings us to the second point – namely responsibility. That lies with Mum and Dad and it is they who must exercise parental control. Young minds must not be corrupted by the vile images of sex that Porn revolves around.
