Because Friday night is Music Night

Another week done at the coalface of capitalism. True public servants, we heroes of the productive economy deserve a well-earned rest.

Have fun whatever you’re up to. I’m kicking my weekend off with a none too shabby driving track. As always, feel free to share your fav sounds down below –

My emphasis:

The EU Commission is proposing to end the practice of adjusting clocks by an hour in spring and autumn after a survey found most Europeans opposed it.

Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said millions “believe that in future, summer time should be year-round, and that’s what will happen”.

The Commission’s proposal requires support from the 28 national governments and MEPs to become law.

In the EU clocks switch between winter and summer under daylight saving time.

We’re reminded that prior to the EU Referendum, Remainers assured us, many times, that the EU is “just a trading club”. We were told that it hardly interferes in anything, really. What’s the fuss about?

Then the moment Brexit won the job of untangling ourselves from the vast web of laws and directives “would be impossible, so we’d better call it off”. We’re reminded that it’s a vast web. It’s so vast and deep that even doing away with the stupid Daylight Savings Time “requires support from the 28 national governments and MEPs to become law.”

There is a better way. Each country should decide for itself what its clocks should say.

This is outrageous.

A man arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenager in Southampton has been jailed for withholding his Facebook password from detectives.

Lucy McHugh, 13, was found stabbed to death in woodland last month, a day after she disappeared.

Stephen-Alan Nicholson, 24, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with an order under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, requiring him to disclose the Facebook password.

He was sentenced to 14 months in jail.

The murder investigation continues, the sentence relates only to the refusal of the suspect to divulge his Facebook password. Yes, the prosecution for that is outrageous. Americans might be thinking about the 5th Amendment here, and the right to not incriminate oneself. The Fifth derives ultimately from the English common law. It was enshrined in Law in 1641 and included into the (English) Bill of Rights of 1689. From there it found its way into the Virginia Bill of Rights and then the US Constitution.

That we have a murder suspect is of no significance. Such protections exist to protect us all. It’s typical of the modern so-called “liberal” politician to so casually chip away at them. In fact Blair was a radical authoritarian. RIPA, his government’s creation, is a typically nasty Blairite statute.

If the police wish to see that Facebook account then I have no problem with them taking a court warrant to Facebook. I don’t believe that Facebook cannot get into it. Incarcerating people for what is nothing more than maintaining their age-old right to silence is not acceptable.

When Race is the first card you play…..

By Patrick Van Roy On August 30th, 2018 at 10:19 pm

If you are a Black Democrat running against a White Republican it is guaranteed that at some point during the campaign you’re going to throw the race card.  It’s just a fact. It’s usually a measure saved for when you need a bump in your poll numbers or you need to hurt your White Republican Opponent because they are running away with the election.

Well not this time…… The Democrats in Florida have picked a Black Socialist to run for Governor Andrew Gillum.  The Republican is Ron DeSantis a Trump backed Candidate.  In his victory speech DeSantis had the NERVE to use the word Monkey in a sentence. He didn’t call his opponent a Monkey but he used the word….. and of course if your white and you use the word Monkey well you’re calling black people the N word…..

Here is the statement, please give it a listen and tell me if you hear racism in the following comments.

and here is the reaction.

So no racial remark was made, but Gillum plays the race card while then saying he’s above it…..

If you have to start your campaign by playing the Race Card even if you wind up winning you’re a Loser.

When a respected commentator, Guardian columnist and BBC regular like Yasmin Alibhai-Brown gets nervous about the rise of the right, we should all be worried. Oh yes, this is “scary”.

In other news, Diane Abbott is reported to be worried that her position as “dumbest woman on the planet” is about to be usurped.

Moderate Dutch patriot Geert Wilders was going to host a cartoon contest. Of course some pius muslims didn’t like that. Showing all the tolerance for which they’re famed, there were protests and death threats. So now it’s cancelled.

The situation is quite clear: any muslim who cannot tolerate free speech must leave the West. Their views are not compatible with civilised life. They simply must go.

Good news at last!

I shudder to think what Marxist drivel and eco-voodoo children are being subjected to, so the news that there’s a “severe” shortage of teachers is cheering.

Of course it takes government to stuff up on such an epic scale. Ever since 1997, when Blair came up with the idea to indoctrinate young adults with left wing propaganda, it’s been government policy to get up to half of school leavers into university. The Tories are so dumb they’ve never noticed what the true purpose of the policy is.

And 21 years of this policy has left a shortage of maths and science teachers, but thousands of burger-flippers who can tell you all about intersectional feminism.

Academics have made off like billy-o. Everyone else ha been swindled.

Monkey business…

Veteran Labour MP Frank Field has quit the party’s group in Parliament, saying the leadership has become “a force for anti-Semitism in British politics”.

The Birkenhead MP also blamed a “culture of intolerance, nastiness and intimidation” in local parties […]

In a letter to chief whip Nick Brown, he said the anti-Semitism row in the party was reason enough to resign, suggesting the leadership was “becoming a force for anti-Semitism in British politics”.

“Britain fought the Second World War to banish these views from our politics, but that superhuman effort and success is now under huge and sustained internal attack,” he wrote.

“The leadership is doing nothing substantive to address this erosion of our core values. It saddens me that we are increasingly seen as a racist party” […]

Labour’s deputy leader Tom Watson described Mr Field’s resignation as a “serious loss to the party” which “reflects both the deep divisions in the party and the sense of drift engulfing us”: He added: “It is a major wake up call. We cannot afford to lose people of such weight and stature.”

Frank Field is one of very few decent MPs, respected both in Westminster and in the country. He’s been an MP since 1979, so he’s Labour to the core. Even so, he couldn’t take the antisemitism and abuse from Corbynites any longer.

His letter is a devastating critique of the Labour Party, which is now a hate group. If it was regarded a right wing group the Shadow Cabinet would be under arrest by now.
