HE OR SHE?
By ATWadmin On August 21st, 2009Wonder if anyone has been following the World Athletics Championship? I have and like many 
others I have been puzzled by the physique and performance of the South African athlete Caster Semenya.
She does not look very female and “her” performances leave every other competiting athlete in the shade.
I understand that “gender tests” are underway and there is speculation that Caster may be a hermaphrodite! I heard someone from South African sports being interviewed about this and they were outraged at the suggestion that their start athlete may not be all she seems.
I think that IF you have to ask the question about gender identity in the first place something is wrong and I do question the South African athletic authorities who have determined to let Caster go forward when it is obvous there are issues involved.
This does NOTHING for South African sport, let alone South African womanhood. In my view. Caster may have won a gold medal but this performance is tarnished until we determine whether the she is a he.
My solution to this important issue. All athletic events should be conducted in the nude.
That a ‘sport’ – a supposed amateur pastime to balance the scales of modern living, has been so tarnished by decades of cheating, and other manipulations via drugs etc. to the point where even gender is queried, would surely beg the question – ‘Is it all really worth the effort?’. So much for all that ‘nationlastic pride’ engenderd by such scams as ‘the Olympics’, and ‘World Championships’.
Such a shame to see any sport reduced to the level of such things as dog or horse racing, what pride can there be in going to such lengths to cheat and what pride can there be when the governing bodies are so suspicious of the contestants that they have to resort to such tests?

Given the large number of African athletes, or those of African desent, why do I get the idea that could be problematic in the hurdles?
The problem is obviously she appears to have the sex organs of a female but may infact be genetically a man

Definitely a he, but evidently with "gender identity issues".
Wasn’t there a similar incicdent a few years ago? where an athlete was examined and found to be male by esteemed medical practioners, and yet on retirement she gave birth – twice! Now not even a tranny can do that…

Many athletic events in ancient Greece were conducted in the nude to highlight physical development.
Nowadays of course we are a bit prudish about such things, but nude synchronised swimming would definitely garner my interest.
(Not so sure about nude wrestling though).
