DHIMMI TIME…
By ATWadmin On August 31st, 2009Here is how Islam gains our submission – without so much as a self detonating Jihadist required…
Faulks, who turned to the Koran while researching his latest novel, said: ‘It’s a depressing book. It really is. It’s just the rantings of a schizophrenic. It’s very one-dimensional, and people talk about the beauty of the Arabic and so on, but the English translation I read was, from a literary point of view, very disappointing.
To this:
I know that to Muslims the Koran is different; it is by definition beyond criticism. And if anything I said or was quoted as saying (not always the same thing) offended any Muslim sensibility, I do apologise – and without reservation. It was never my intention to offend my Muslim friends or readers, and if you read my novel I think you will see how I have shown the positive effects of the Koran on a kind and typical Muslim family.

Maybe he is just the kind of guy who apologises for giving offence. Saying he was sorry as long as it wasn’t an apology would have been fine in my book. As a default position most people are sorry fo something they do causes offence, even when they think they have done nothing wrong.
Maybe he’s running scared. Maybe it’s a bit of both.
Although with nonsence like this
‘Attacks on Islam are nothing new, but the danger is this will have a ‘drip, drip’ effect.
‘People don’t seem to understand the consequences of saying things like this could be quite severe. History tells us it can encourage hatred."
I could see why he might be worried. I can’t see anyone stired to hatred of Islam by contemplating that its holy book is boring. I can see this guys (not Faulks) comments stirring up hate though and all along the spectrum through disgust down to plain umimpressed. If I was a Muslim I know who I’d be most annoyed with. Although in fairness to the spokesman, you can’t rely on this being a totally accurate quote
DV, knowing what you now know and having read, not just from Faulks but from anyone else who has dared to criticise islam, would you agree that Nick Griffin is courageous?
David
I’m glad you posted this because it was a small item in the news last week and needed a bit more cover.
And yes, Faulks cravenly caved in and issued an apology, probably on insistence from his publisher.
One gets pretty tired of the "hate" tag, when all he wrote was a mild critique of their oh so precious koran.
Pass the sick bag alice.
Saying he was sorry as long as it wasn’t an apology would have been fine in my book
Eeeehhhhh….. ok!
Allan,
I think everyone who dares to stand up and expose the scandal of Islam is courageous. I think that most of our political class are total cowards in that regard and so Griffin dares raise the issue.
AJ. So when you are telling someone who is bereaved that you are sorry are you aplogising? You think that saying sorry always means an apology?
For what it’s worth I’m sorry that anyone was offended by his comments. I certainly aren’t aoplogising for me or for him.
The book is a joke no matter what language its in.
I wrote about both Faulks’ initial comments and his cowardly capitulation at my blog, at the two links below:

I agree that Nick Griffin is courageous. No other Party leader would dare say out loud what the rest of us are thinking and what the rest of us want. He speaks for the British people but is lambasted from all quarters for bringing the matter out into the open.
"He speaks for the British people" – no, he speaks for one sector of the British people. There are a great many British people for whom he does not speak.
What’s courageous about him? Wogbashing’s hardly brave. If he was really brave he wouldn’t have stopped saying what he really thinks about jews.
"he speaks for one sector of the British people."
Yep. Morons.
Sorry Jimmy, but your inflammatory remark is ‘moronspeak’ and shoots down in flames any point you were trying to make.

Really….you’ve some balls to admit that mallory
“I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that six million Jews were gassed and cremated or turned into lampshades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the earth is flat…I have reached the conclusion that the ‘extermination’ tale is a mixture of Allied wartime propaganda, extremely profitable lie, and latter day witch-hysteria.” – Nick Griffin
