Subrosa has an interesting post here on the issue of Gordon Brown’s declaration that his government will provide a network of supervised homes for 16-17 year old mothers. The question posed is WHY have abortions spiralled upwards since 1967?
“We’ve gone too far with our liberal attitudes and we now have a few generations with too many having no concept of shame or right and wrong. We have youngsters drinking themselves senseless and lying in gutters – they think that’s ‘normal’ behaviour because society appears to condone it. Any dissenters are told they have unpleasant prejudices.”
Shame is a powerful emotion which, for no sensible reason, we do not visit upon our young anymore. Political correctness considers that inducing feelings of shame is harmful to their development whereas I consider the opposite to be true.
Whatever happened to personal pride? Whatever happened to teaching children responsibility?
It looks like they went out the window when the liberals and their "everyone’s a victim" mentality took over.
Red Diamond, if this site is anything to go by, I’d say the "Conservatives" are if anything more guilty.
Mr. Cunningham, I don’t think there’s that much of a difference between them, to be honest. I think we can call it pandering to the lowest common denominator.

This figure is nonsense about 10,000 foreign nationals come to the country from abroad to have abortions where it is illegal most of these are in fact from Ireland so it is completely impossible for the above statistic to be true. This kind of statement can only be explained by either a very uncritical mind or racism.

Also in general about this piece what is it about liberal policy that is making the abortion rate go up.
The growth in abortions is terrible but to blame liberalism is it seems to me unfounded. One of the most liberal countries in Europe the Netherlands has the least abortions per head of capita, likewise when you look at the list of countries that perform more than we do they certainly could not be said to be less liberal in fact if anything the statistics when compared country to country seem to indicate that the more conservative a country the more likely they are to have a high abortion rate. I am not pointing out that conservatism leads to more abortions I think the situation is more complicated than that but I do think the idea that liberalism caused it completely not in keeping with the facts.
