So, those pesky dissident republicans have been blamed after a suspected mortar bomb was fired at a police station in Northern Ireland.
The device missed the barracks in Craigavon, Co Armagh, and caused no injuries. A year ago a policeman was shot dead by the Continuity IRA not far from the scene of last night’s attack. Dissidents were behind last week’s murder of Kieran Doherty, 31, in Londonderry as well as a number of other attacks on police stations.
Sinn Fein assembly member John O’Dowd (Pictured left) said: “This attack was wrong and should not have been carried out.”
Quite right, John, it was wrong, But here’s a question for you. Back in June 1998, two RUC officers were brutally murdered in nearby Lurgan town centre. They were shot in the back as they patrolled the town. Was THAT wrong, John? Was it WRONG when the IRA did it, or is it only wrong when others carry out such crimes. When the IRA bombed the same Police Station, was that WRONG?
The problem for Mr O’Dowd is that he speaks with a forked tongue and his words of condemnation would mean a little bit more were it not for the fact that the IRA carried out even worse atrocities and Sinn Fein hail the scum that perpetrated such events as heroes.
