This is What Mobocracy Looks Like!

By Patty On March 17th, 2011

Public Employee Unions scream:  “This is what Democracy looks like!” but what they obviously mean is:  “This is what Mobocracy looks like!”    Pro-Public Union Madison person writing to  Madison blogger Ann Althouse:

“…NOTICE – YOUR CITY OF MADISON PRIVILEGES HAVE BEEN REVOKED….
We understand that you like to eat on the square. You like the Baked Potato at the Old Fashioned, do you? There were five of us in there last Tuesday. You like to eat at Fresco? We’re in the Overture eating, serving, cooking, playing, and performing. At least twenty of us have worked for Food Fight. You like to fucking drink at FAIR TRADE  do you? At FAIR TRADE? You are citizen-BANNED from Fair Trade. We will Walker you  straight out of the place whenever you show up. We are at every coffee shop on State, open to close, all the time. We will hang up wanted posters of you everywhere you like  to go. We will picket on public property as close to your house as we can every day.

We will harrass the ever loving shit out of you all the time. Campus is OCCUPIED. State street is OCCUPIED. The Square is OCCUPIED. Vilas, Schenk’s Corners, Atwood, Willy Street – Occupied, Occupied, Occupied, Occupied. Did you really think it was all about the Capitol? Fuck the Capitol, we are the CITY.”

Death threats. Intimidation. Vandalism. It’s Public Employee Unions versus the Priivate Citizen Taxpayer —  and the Public Employee Unions have “taken it to the streets.”   Mobocracy.
Where are President Obama’s Civility Policemen when you need them?

  1. How come when the tea party does this you think its a great display of democracy nut when working people do it it is the definition of anti-democracy

  2. Because the Tea Party never did this, Pimpernal.

The Tea Party Protests were orderly and….wait for it….CIVIL.

There weren’t death threats, intimidation tactics and a flaunting of the democrat electoral victory in 2008.

The Tea Partiers recognized that elections do have consequences and they rallied to the polls in 2010 – these Union thugs are trying to annul the November election results by bullying and intimidation. — all the while screaming: “This is what Democracy looks like!”

  3. Some of the rallies opposing Obamacare were pretty ugly. Many “patriots” turned up toting guns and with menacing anti-Obama posters and slogans. It was almost as if they were trying to anul his victory in November 2009 in which (what became) Obamacare was one of his most prominent campaign pledges.

  4. Nothing like this. The lamestream media did its best to portray the Tea Party as a “racist mob” but it never stuck because there was no video, witness or proof that the characterization of “racist” and/or “mob-like” had a basis in reality.

Now these public unions have really stepped over the civility line with clear mob like intimidation tactics – the lamestream media doesn’t care, of course, because they’re on the same side.

And Obama is in the pocket of the public union bosses – he dares not whisper a word against them.

  5. Ann Althouse has been an actual eyewitness to the events playing out in her backyard. I think she’s been more than fair in her blogging of this story and she’s not considered a friend of the right wing/tea party set. Ann has always been a steady middle of the road conservative who’s taken serious, nasty hits from Patty’s end of the ideological aisle over the last two years.

Ann’s an honest blogger who hasn’t buckled her principles under intense pressure from right wing bloggers. She’s been a truly good source on this story.

  6. So what, Peter?

People get passionate over politics. As long as nobody’s dead at the end of day, it’s all good.

  7. “.. nasty hits from Patty’s end of the ideological aisle over the last two years.”

!! sweet jab from the side, missed however. 🙂

  8. Althouse on Palin (she no likey) shows Daphne’s point.

  9. Patty, no offense intended, but Ann isn’t a blogger you’d naturally take a shine to under other circumstances. She just happens to reinforce your position on this particular issue.

You’d probably take her to task as a Rino, conservative lite, republican elitist on nearly every other topic. The woman’s definitely not your cup of tea on a daily basis, but she serves your purposes for the moment.

That’s cool. Always use the sharpest tool at hand.

  10. Let me tell you how orderly and civil a Tea Party protest really is Patty.

I escorted my son’s class on a trip to the Capitol in Albany in 2009. The price of the trip was $28 a head, no exceptions. We were there at the invitation of the school’s State Representative to see how government works.

When we arrived there was a Tea Party rally going on. While the kids were making their way to the Capitol building, Tea Partiers were handing them leaflets. When I asked one to stop, the question I was asked was “What are you, some sort of f–kin’ pinko Mick?” Apparently he didn’t know the difference between the Scots and the Irish, but whatever. Anyway, that drew another couple of them over, and, thinking I was a teacher, they began calling me a parasite and a bottom-feeder. I had to laugh, which seemed to upset them even more. Eventually a police officer came over and moved them.

Here endeth an example of the order and civility of Tea Partiers, as witnessed my me.

  11. You may want to reconsider your handle there

Stormfront has meanings you may not be aware of

    Death threats. Intimidation. Vandalism. Mobocracy!

  14. Daphne: you have all sorts of notions about me that have no basis in reality.

That’s cool. No biggee. I’m sure I have all sorts of ideas about you that aren’t true.

But that’s why I always find it more useful to stick to the topic posted – and not the person posting.

  15. Yo Patty

Heading your way ( Orange County CA ) next week!

    Newport Beach / Irvine area!

  16. Surf’s up, but the water’s cold. Bring your wetsuit!

  17. Patty. Will you be running in slow motion across the beach for Phantom in your red Pamela Anderson baywatch swimsuit ? 🙂

As posted above by Stormfront, and ignored by Patty.

    QED?

  19. Does any of us know who Stormfront is? Is this a credible report?
