REMEMBER – VIOLENCE DOES NOT PAY

By David Vance On April 8th, 2011

Like so many others, I was touched by those peace processors (who believe placing terrorists in government is the bright shiny future) sending the “powerful” message that “violence does not pay”.  So, interesting to note the following developments this morning;

1. The main motorway from Newry to Dublin is closed because of a suspected bomb abandoned in a vehicle in South Armagh.

2. A bomb scare in a part of Lurgan, near me.

3. A man shot in a mutilation shooting in North Belfast.

Still, as we are constantly reminded, nobody supports the dissidents….

  1. But aren’t you a dissident DV? Most likely why the TUV don’t have a great deal of support either. There are always a few fools around, contrarians out of sinc with the rest of us, but like the poor dissenters will always be with us;) it’s a nice day, go the long way round.

  2. Not such a nice day for those travelling south, those in Francis Street, the man in North Belfast. Still, lotus-eaters keep on smiling…

Sorry for the thread hijack (pun intended).
Could you please explain why those of us (like myself) in North Belfast who wish to support TUV by way of the ballot box are once again denied the opportunity to do so in the forthcoming Assembly elections?

  4. Candidates! I wish we had more, and I wish we had more money to fund it all. As you know, unlike others we get nothing, not a penny.

  5. It’s very disapointing and frustrating that as an Anti-Agreement Unionist that yet again i have no one to vote for?
No Candidate in NB represents what i want?
    It’s such a waste!

Anyone can join and potentially stand for us.

  7. “Anyone can join and potentially stand for us.”

Indeed as seen by the BNP connection, David.

  8. ‘Anyone can join and potentially stand for us.’

I know. Unfortunately, if you remember, i have been ill and would be physically unable to devote the time (or energy) that would be necessary for that to be a possibility. I still have some misgivings about the party but we do ‘sing off the same hymn sheet’ most of the time. Membership is something i’m considering.

    Pinky,
There is no BNP candidate in North Belfast either. If there was (and in the absence of the TUV) there is a strong possibility that they would get my vote. Alas…..now i have no one to vote for (as per usual).

    Indeedy!

  10. Cutting and pasting someone elses post to make the meaning of it different and to suit your own opinion is not big and not clever.

  11. JM, what exact meaning was changed?
