The Clock is Ticking

By Patrick Van Roy On August 25th, 2011

Last week the Egyptian military aided terrorists that crossed into Israel and attacked civilian targets, at least seven Israelis were killed and dozens were wounded in a sophisticated multi-stage terrorist attack, believed to be perpetrated by almost two dozen attackers and launched from Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula into southern Israel last Thursday afternoon.

The attacks commenced at about noon on Thursday, when three terrorists wearing military vests and armed with assault rifles, RPGs, roadside bombs and bomb belts, crossed into Israel near the Netafim Border Crossing along Route 12 between Mitzpe Ramon and Eilat.

The terrorists spread out about 200 meters from one another and began attacking passing vehicles. They first opened fire on Egged Bus 392 which was packed with civilians and soldiers. At least 10 passengers were wounded, most of them lightly to moderately, after the bus driver continued driving.

Moments later, one of the terrorists opened fire at an empty bus that drove by and detonated the bomb belt he was carrying, killing himself and the bus driver. Another terrorist opened fire at a passing car and killed the female driver.

One of the two remaining terrorists opened fire at a passing car, killing four people. An IDF jeep from the Golani Brigade then arrived at the scene and ran over the terrorist, killing him.

Egyptian military fired across the border at the responding Israeli Soldiers, the Israelis crossed the border and killed 3 members of the Egyptian Military and destroyed two Military Jeeps.

Add to this yesterdays statements from the Mad Little Persian:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran was determined to eradicate Israel, ISNA news agency reported Thursday.

“Iran believes that whoever is for humanity should also be for eradicating the Zionist regime (Israel) as symbol of suppression and discrimination,” Ahmadinejad said in an interview with a Lebanese television network, carried by ISNA.

“Iran follows this issue (the eradication of Israel) with determination and decisiveness and will never ever withdraw from this standpoint and policy,” the Iranian president added in the interview with the Al-Manar network.

The remarks by Ahmadinejad came one day before the annual anti-Israeli rallies named Qods (Jerusalem) Day, which are held nationwide in Iran on the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Ahmadinejad on Monday said that Iranians and Muslim nations worldwide should hold Qods rallies and show their willingness to dispose of this “infectious tumor and this regime full of rascality.”

The Iranian president provoked international condemnation in 2005 when he said that Israel should be eliminated from the map of the Middle East and transferred to Europe or North America.

It’s Time to stand up and be counted, lock and load fellas.

  1. Israel has taken the step of apologzing for the deaths of the Egyptian military members. The Egyptian military actually oved thousandof troops into the area to counter Al-Q. Israel recognizes that can still work with the Egyptian military. No need to make thngs worse than they actually are.

  2. The Sinai may become ungovernable by Egypt.

There’s a lot of talk about that.

  3. Why is Israel firing on Gaza when the attacks came from the Sinai?

  4. Mahons did you see the video of the protests before all this that took place outside the Israeli Embassy?

They were carrying swastikas and signs that said the gas chambers were ready.

  5. Daphne, because the rockets that were being fired by the second group that day were coming from Gaza, where should they have attacked Paris?

  6. It’s Time to stand up and be counted, lock and load fellas.

It’s time to consider first that Ahmadinnerjacket’s words might be aimed at the domestic nationalist and religious idiots who lap up the war talk.

  7. This lie gets repeated often enough to warrant repeated correction. This line…

“The Iranian president provoked international condemnation in 2005 when he said that Israel should be eliminated from the map of the Middle East and transferred to Europe or North America.”

…is a total falsehood. The original line, “The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time” was taken and twisted and used for war propaganda so many times that it’s sickening. You wouldn’t want to inadvertently keep propagating that lie, would you Troll?

  8. A depressing part of all this is that it is so hard to get reliable info. on these attacks – the BBC here are not interested when Israelis, even Israeli children, are murdered. We rarely hear their names on the TV, unlike say the blessed Rachel Corrie. The attacks on civilian Israelis got a 2 minute mention – Israel’s response made the headlines of course and they are automatically tried and blamed. I read the Daily Telegraph and I don’t think that covered the story very prominently either. Considering we get wall-to-wall coverage of Libya I would have thought this story of at least equal significance.
Of course we also get no coverage of the hate-filled London demos against Israel.

I am still not clear on the precise details of what happened – Troll’s outline is the clearest I’ve seen it presented.

  9. How very dare the ‘evil joo zionists’ defend themselves from harmless peaceful terrorists…er civilians! Apologise now!

Maybe those Terrorists were the ever present heavily armed and suicide vested ‘wedding party’ so beloved of al jah-beeb-ah. If only that paragon of neutrality Mustaffa Jeremy al Bowen was here to explain it all.

Not only must we ‘not take the law into our own hands’ and meekly submit to evil, but we must condemn those who do combat evil. Evil must be allowed to triumph. Thus endeth the lesson in being a modern Brit.

Well sorry but I’m an old traditionalist. Do evil unto me I will respond massively. Just like Israel. So good for Israel.

  10. PM and IM,

When it’s about the 30th time that the guy has said plain out and out we will destroy Israel maybe he might really mean it, also look up (if your capable) the speech the mad little persian made back in 2005 where he was standing infront of a graphic of an hour glass.

I guess hitler never marched the jews into ovens either, and he had smarts to not talk about it, or I know he was drowned out in the news by all those fake stories about London being bombed

  11. Troll –

If someone had promised to punch me in the gob 30 times without backing it up I might start to think he’s bluffing.

Look,Iran is struggling to come up with one warhead. Even if it manages to do so Israel still has many warheads. You don’t commit your one warhead for the promise of annihilation at home. The point of getting one is to bring it to the negotiating table. In any case, the Israelis are more than capable of preventing an Iranian bomb without the US obliterating the region.

When Amadinnerjacket talks big you should bear in mind two things.

The first is that he’s talking as much to Iranians as to anyone else. His position isn’t that strong in Tehran and he’s trying to shore up support with the oldest political trick in the book – pointing to The Other. That Iran isn’t a paradise is blamed on outsiders, foreigners, the Great and Little Satan. It’s their fault, not the Islamic Republic’s fault. Cheer you peasants.

The second is that he’s addressing the Iranian Troll, the type who loves war for war’s sake. The type who feels big as long as the military is in a fight somewhere.

You and the Iranian Troll both ought to knock that shit off.

  12. When someone says he’s going to kill you, take it seriously.

History is very clear on that point.

  13. Phantom –

History is very clear that a threat is likely to be BS.

Anyway, what threat is Iran to the US? It is no threat. It has pop guns which can barely reach the Med. For crying out loud, have you been asleep for the last decade?!

You have lost thousands of young men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tens of thousands have been wounded and maimed. Why are you already so keen on war with a nation more powerful than Iraq and Afghanistan?

It’s a nation full of people who are not our enemies and you can’t wait to bomb them.

    Stop it!

You were fed a pack of lies over Iraq and thousands of Americans died there. Osama bin Laden is dead and your president announces that troops will remain there for another fifteen years!

Stop believing the crap these criminals tell you.

  14. It appears that the US is threatened not only by Iran but also by China:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/8722150/China-rises-US-warns-Beijing-is-expanding-its-military-power.html

Now, if US-Military Inc. didn’t have forces based around Iran and near China, there wouldn’t be a threat because there would be nothing to be threatened. It is USMI’s exercises held in the Yellow Sea (look at the atlas) that are the threat to China. The US is half the world away and it’s holding military exercises in the Yellow Sea? Exactly what is the threat to the US? It parks its corporate forces in Iraq (oil) and Afghanistan (opium, mining) around Iran and yet it is Iran which is the threat to the US – it’s pure military imperialism run wild.

For Israel, the question is different. Why not simply admit that the hatred is so bad that the enmity will be permanent. That way, Israel can at least state categorically that it will retain all territories around it which are necessary to win a defensive war. .

  15. Re China

Speak to the Japanese, Koreans, Philippines, Singapore and to the Vietnamese.

They are very concerned about Chinese military adventurism in relation to various Pacific territories, some which are nowhere near China.

China is taking an aggressive posture – according to all the Pacific neighbors, except North Korea.

  16. China is taking an aggressive posture

In how many countries are there Chinese military bases?
In how many countries are there US-Military Inc. bases?
In how many wars in how many countries have Chinese military been involved?
In how many wars and in how many countries have USMI forces been involved?

Simply by asking and answering such questions noting that USMI’s budget is circa 8x that of China’s should put the block quote above in perspective.

  17. PM
If your neighbor said he was going to blow up a building, and started stock piling dynamite, and every month showed the press that he was making better and stronger dynamite, you would be a fool to ignore him.

Which is what you are doing with Iran.

You are also applying western logic to a man that believes the messiah lives in a well, and you can get him to come out if you bathe the world in blood.
