You Can’t Go Home Again

Michele Bachmann has announced she is suspending her campaign and pulling out of the race for the nomination for the Republican Party Presidential Candidate.   It makes sense.  She has been in a free fall and would not be doing herself or her party any good if she remained in the race.  I would not have voted for her in a million years, but I will credit her for entering the race and making the attempt to secure the nomination.  It is much harder to be in the game than on the sidelines, and some respect is due to those who participate in the process.

  1. I feel bad for her, though like you she’s not my cup of tea ( har har )

    And the others Huntsmann ( a sharp guy who sure never caught on ) and Rick Perry, who I have liked more and more over time. Perry had the gross misfortune to have a brain freeze when all were watching. Could have been me if I’d been up there I tell you that. He’ll be going home soon, and I wish him well.

    She was treated unfairly- especially that song that was played when she appeared on a late night show.

  3. Pinky, Yes, that was a truly disrespectful moment. If it had happened to a Female Democratic candidate the outcry would have been much greater.

    Phantom – Tha twas the quote I had in mind, but I didn’t want to be accused of citing a Rino (wink, nod).

  5. I’m not sure why her campaign stalled so much. With the other flavour of the month candidates you could pinpoint reasons their support collapsed- Trump & the birth certificate, Cain and sexual harassment allegations, Perry brainfreeze, Gingrich counterattacked by Romney.

    Michelle Bachman though didn’t make any major mistakes after winning the straw poll that would have made former supporters become opponents.

  6. Well, I liked her and am sad to see her go but agree it is the right decision. I heard her comments announcing her withdrawal and thought she spoke well! Being gracious in electoral defeat is not easy, let’s face it, I know!!! ;-)

    Mocking God? Me? Certainly not, but these hucksters and gangsters certainly mock God when they claim their candidacy is inspired by revelation.

  8. Bachmann has already served God and the country by slamming Paul’s foreign policy stances in the debates.

    I’m not sure what Cain did.

    Can you enlighten us on those attacks? It seems they were quite effective, the biter bit so to speak.

  13. A lot of what I saw excerpts of brutally honest and mocking points about the money he took from Fannie and Freddie and about the fact that he was censured by a Republican House of Representatives
