Just a Little note from Persia
By The Troll On June 30th, 2012IRAN: THERE WILL BE WAR – AND WE’LL WIN
More than 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of reaching U.S. bases
By Reza KahliliJust days after the breakdown of talks with the West over Iran’s nuclear program, the deputy chief commander of the Revolutionary Guards announced that there soon will be war – and that Allah will ensure his forces are victorious.
The Revolutionary Guards have more than 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of reaching all U.S. bases in the region, all of Israel and some capitals in Europe. In collaboration with China and North Korea, they are also working on intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Salami said the Guards are on high alert, adding, “Our forces in relation to our internal security will complete their mission with all of their capability.”
Gen. Hossein Salami, in a televised interview, boasted that, “Iran has complete control of all the enemy’s interests around the world and is on a path to reach equivalency with world powers.” The commander emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is irreversible, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.
Salami said Iranian ballistic missiles can travel at several times the speed of sound and cannot easily be tracked and destroyed. “Our defense inventory is so great that at times our brothers in the Guards face limitations with space.”
Hmmph I wonder which Capitals in Europe. Nice people those Persians all guided by the Religion of Peace

Indeed they are nice people. Have you ever met any Iranians?
Propaganda and the simple minds that believe it
I’ve worked with Iranians. Highly competent, likeable and at Christmas, they committed what is in the US a subversive act: they sent me an email wishing me not ‘Happy Holidays’ but ‘Merry Christmas’.
//that there soon will be war //
I suppose after the victory of Obamacare and various other disasters, one has to talk up whatever few comforts are left.
Troll – you’ve been predicting war with Iran for about then years. When do you think it’ll actually happen?
Like all governments, Tehran is guided by self-interest and realpolitik. This Gen. Hossein Salami sounds like a bombastic chap. I wouldn’t believe all he says.
By the way:
“More than 1,000 ballistic missiles capable of reaching U.S. bases”
That’s hardly a statement of their capability. A pop gun fired from Iran would a few US bases.
Pete is correct at 1:52
except for the line in blue the statements come out of Iran.
Iran is controlled by a death cult, They believe their death and the death of others is a good thing.
I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. They are a threat. They are saying they are going to shoot you. How you choose to take that statement is entirely up to you.
As for when the fight with Iran would come I don’t know. I know the planes were in the Air from both the US an GB back when Bush was President. They were recalled when a false Intel Assessment was printed in the NY Times.
Eventually it will happen, I would prefer we strike first. Less people will die that way, but more than likely Iran will strike first and then escalation is inevitable.
Oh and just for the record I have been predicting and advocating a war with Iran since 1979.
Oh and I do know Iranians here in the states, they all fled when the Ayatollah took power, and they are nice people.
Troll , Just as a matter of interest how many missiles does the U.S. and Israel have pointing at Iran ? Or is it America’s God given right to intimidate and bully the rest of the world ?
The US military complex (it used to be military-industrial but the industry has gone because corporates moved manufacturing to China) is a death cult. This is Paul Craig Roberts, former member of the Reagan Administration describing the moves to corral Russia AND China:
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=31669
Russia’s Putin understands that Russia itself is threatened not only by Washington’s funding of the “Russian opposition,” but also by the strife among Muslims unleashed by Washington’s wars against secular Muslim states, such as Iraq and Syria. This discord spreads into Russia itself and presents Russia with problems such as Chechen terrorism.
Russia is vulnerable, because Putin is demonized by Washington and the US media and because Putin’s Russian opposition is financed by Washington and serves US, not Russian, interests. The turmoil that Washington is unleashing in Muslim states leaks back to Russia’s Muslim populations.
It has proved to be more difficult for Washington to interfere in China’s internal affairs, although discord has been sowed in some provinces. Several years from now, the Chinese economy is expected to exceed in size the US economy, with an Asian power displacing a Western one as the world’s most powerful economy.
Washington is deeply disturbed by this prospect. In the thrall and under the control of Wall Street and other special interest business groups, Washington is unable to rescue the US economy from its decline. The short-run gambling profits of Wall Street, the war profits of the military/security complex, and the profits from offshoring the production of goods and services for US markets have far more representation in Washington than the wellbeing of US citizens. As the US economy sinks, the Chinese economy rises.
Washington’s response is to militarize the Pacific. The US Secretary of State has declared the South China Sea to be an area of American national interest. The US is wooing the Philippine government, playing the China threat card, and working on getting the US Navy invited back to its former base at Subic Bay. Recently there were joint US/Philippines military/naval exercises against the “China threat.”
The US Navy is reallocating fleets to the Pacific Ocean and constructing a new naval base on a South Korean island. US Marines are now based in Australia and are being reallocated from Japan to other Asian countries. The Chinese are not stupid. They understand that Washington is attempting to corral China. -
Doctor… wouldn’t per chance be Who would it?
anyway Dr. the US and Israel have had missiles pointed at everybody for decades, we have never threatened to use nukes as a first strike weapon and neither have the Jews.
In both cultures they are weapons of last resort.
The Persians threaten to use them as first strike weapons.
Are you of the school of thought the American Military might has been used over the past 60yrs or even at any point in the past 260 to dictate over other nations? If so please list examples.
Very perceptive Troll , I have watched Dr. Who since the first episode and still watch it , however I think that the latest stories are too contrived .
As for a list , this is from memory I’ve probably missed quite a few ; Cuba ,Panama , Grenada , Nicaragua , Columbia , Vietnam , Libya and Syria .
Alan what have we unleashed against Syria? Russia created it’s own Chechnyan problem not us. Putins internal problems come from the fact that he is KGB and the russian people still fear their own government.
As for american assets causing trouble in either Russia or China this has not been the case in decades. The church commission stopped all that activity, the US has done no internal spycraft in decades, We can see and hear everything that takes place anywhere on the globe, and we may give money to native trouble makers to help them along, but internal human activity, regretfully none.
The positioning of our military is always based on physical threat China has trippled it’s military arms, and the middle east and southern asia is arming themselves with long range nuclear weapons. What we should just sit at home and dismantle our weapons as you lot have?
As for economics the US is one decade away from being the worlds largest exporter of Oil and Coal, we are 5 years away from rejuvenating our economy. All contingent on Obamas loss in November of course,
The future problems China faces internally make the russian ones look like childs play. As their economy grows so grows want for freedom. They have a few billion headaches waiting for someone to blame and it’s not going to be their biggest customer it’s going to be Beijing.
I prefer the Tom Baker days myself, as for your list except for Libya you can’t make that case. In every one of those countries we responded to a threat. and in none of those countries does our flag fly over the Capital.
Libya was the action of a rogue President and if the law was followed he would have been impeached. What was Britain and Frances excuse in Libya?
And I ask what have we done in Syria?
Troll -
Come on.
” .. except for Libya you can’t make that case. In every one of those countries we responded to a threat.”
What, from Cuba, Panama, Grenada, Nicaragua, Columbia, Vietnam? On what planet were those countries (and Iraq) any threat to the US?
The Planet Earth
Vietnam was part of the cold war, Cuba pointed nuclear missiles at us, The rest were minor excursions that shouldn’t even be on a list of a use of US military power.
Iraq we have debated a million times, and I repeat which of those nations is under US control? We did what we needed and left.
Vietnam was none of your business.
Cuba didn’t have any missiles on the island when the US nabbed Guantanamo Bay or screwed up at the Bay of Pigs.
The rest, however minor, are sovereign nations and you had no right pushing them about.
I know what you’d have been saying a decade ago, that Iraq is a threat and we must attack. It’s the same old line and now it’s the turn of Syria and Iran.
Vietnam was part of the Doctrine of Credibility it was a piece of the cold war. It also ended US Military surrogate fighting involvement as part of our strategy in the cold war.
Guantanamo Bay The United States assumed territorial control over the southern portion of Guantánamo Bay under the 1903 Cuban-American Treaty, which granted it a perpetual lease of the area.
The bay of pigs was invasion by cuban refugees that the US military abandoned, so how is the an exertion of our military strength?
Iraq was a terrorist state, it had active terrorist training camps and over 7 tons of Uranium, it is no longer a threat and the Uranium is in Canada.
No one here in the US is calling for involvement in Syria, the President and Hillary would like to but there is no support and no need.
Iran is a threat and will be dealt with.
“Indeed they are nice people. Have you ever met any Iranians?”
As ever, that is NOT the issue.
The real heart of the matter is,
“Are their leaders nice people?”
There are many “nice” people all around the world, but they usually do what their leaders tell them to do – good or bad.
It very much is the issue because Troll tarred them all with the same brush.
oh bull Petr your just looking for an excuse to find fault.
Besides I said PERSIANS not Iranians if you want to be literal
I note the word ‘all’ and the term ‘Persians’ rather than ‘some Persians’.
Petr,
people tar everybody with the same brush, get over it!
We Brits are the most maligned, misunderstood, philanthropic, good natured people in the universe…
We are all shaped by the culture we grow up in, and the values of that culture. It is men and women of conviction and courage that change things, but in general and nearly always, the majority of people do what their governments tell them to do.
people tar everybody with the same brush, get over it!
And others point it out. Get over it.
The leaders of Iran are people who avoided the very good chances for martyrdom under the Shah or in the Iran-Iraq war. These are people who despite their rhetoric have shown consistantly that they don’t won’t to die.
Off topic (sorry) but Yitzhak Shamir has died.
Agi
“people tar everybody with the same brush, get over it!”
Not everybody does. Don’t tar us all with the same brush
the Leaders are the Persians the People are Iranians, so just kill the Persians …. with a very wide brush.
Happy?
Troll -
“the Leaders are the Persians the People are Iranians”
What does that mean?
Troll – would that be a 5-year-plan? Do you really think that Romney is going to be so different from Obama and that the hollowed-out US economy will recover?
“Iran is a diverse country consisting of people of many religions and ethnic backgrounds cemented by the Persian culture.[231] The majority of the population speaks the Persian language, which is also the official language of the country, as well as other Iranian languages or dialects. Turkic languages and dialects, most importantly Azeri language, are spoken in different areas in Iran. Additionally, Arabic is spoken in the southwestern parts of the country, although Arabs constitute a minority in these regions. The exact ethnic breakdown of Iran is unknown as there are no official numbers, however some organizations have made estimates. The World Factbook released the estimate: Persians (61%), Azerbaijanis (16%), Kurds (10%), Lurs (6%), Arabs (2%), Balochs (2%), Turkmens and Turkic tribes (2%),[232] Laks, Qashqai, Pashtuns, Armenians, Georgians, Persian Jews, Assyrians, Circassians, Tats, Mandaeans, Gypsies, Brahuis, Kazakhs and others (1%).[119] However according to them Persian is spoken as first language by 53%, while Azeri and other Turkic dialects is spoken by 18%, Kurdish by 10%, Gilaki and Mazandarani by 7%, Luri by 6%, Balochi by 2%, Arabic by 2% and that some 2% have other languages as first language.[119]”

first off a President only sets the agenda, the real power lies with the congress, The President gets the blame or the credit but congress holds the financial reigns of power.
Clinton got the credit for Newt, Bush got the Blame for Pelousy. That’s not saying that the President can’t screw things up or help, but it’s very rare that a president can override the will of Congress and he can only do it by going to the people in the last 100 years there have only been two men that had that kind of power FDR, and Reagan. Thats it.
Now the only thing that is hurting and holding back the second industrial revolution in the US is High corporate taxes, and low fuel production.
The November Elections are going to see a sweep of Congress. The trick will be wrestling control from the beltway insiders of both parties. People like Boehner are as much of the problem as Reaid and Pelousy.
If they get two things accomplished in the next 4 years the American economy will be barreling like a freight train on tracks of gold.
First corporate tax rate must be brought down to 15%-20%, penalties on re-patronizing foreign funds must be zeroed out. It would be nice to see the end of capital gains tax. but that won’t happen in my lifetime.
Second all regulation by the EPA from the past 6 years must be rolled back and the entire dept dismantled.
Those two goals will spur growth in our economic system to the levels it was between 1870-1900. Also the lifting and rebirth of the american economy lifts all economies.
Romney will be an efficient President, but congress must be held above the fire.
Ross
No these are people that have shown that they are consistently willing to convince others to die for them in the name of Allah
