Troll – that last photograph of yourself was clearly the final straw. Who could continue to run a blog that permitted such an offense against humanity on the internet?
I didn’t think it was me, but Have you ever tried giving up coffee? This site is my coffee, and if david is shutting the doors he needs to explain why.
I think running a site when you have to deal with unnecessary nonsense takes its toll. You need patience and time at the best of times. I suspect he’ll rally, if only to lord it over folks like me if Obama loses the election.
Plus he would have to find us another home if he ever gave it up. And who would take us – we’re the Island of Misfit Toys.
Goodnight, am turning in. And I am sure by morning we will return to Elvis Costello’s ode to ATW – What is so Funny About Peace Love and Understanding….
“My Chief Rabbit has told me to stay and defend this run, and until he says otherwise, I shall stay here.”
Troll/Monica
I love that one too! There’s a lot of good quotable stuff in films, and I remember seeing Watership Down for the first time in a cinema in Haifa. The pre-CGI graphics and the music were great for the storyline. Art Garfunkel’s Bright Eyes absolutely wonderful.
Regarding “The Message.”
David has repeatedly reminded us that he has to get on with his life and his projects.
He built this website, and it seems to me that unless we start being a bit more sensitive, WE will bury it.
Please let us show respect to him by showing more sensitivity to each other, and minimise the need for him to step in every now and again.
I think I am one of the few here who has no immediate Irish connections, and I have proved my ignorance on the subject by stepping on sensitive toes every now and then.
What I have picked up from my blundering incursions is that there are some who post here regularly that have more personal feelings/involvement/pain than others.
Whilst I can state my opinion (rightly or wrongly) on the broader issues, I do try to avoid getting into the personal ones. That is going “where angels fear to tread” and I have no right to judge or condemn.
Continuing to argue the point (in my view) is unhelpful and unkind and non productive, regardless of which political pov we hold.
When I sense someone is hurting or angry or stressed, I will try to back off. Winning an argument, making a point or raising a cheap laugh at the expense of causing another person distress is wrong.
I like McMahons. I think if we met, we would find enough in common to outweigh our differences.
I also have no reason to dislike Logical Unionist. (He wouldn’t care anyway!) I think both these gentlemen have experienced stuff that I wouldn’t know how to deal with. So.
There’s room here for all of us -even me.
That’s it. If it sounds preachy or pompous… TOUGH! It’s how I feel. There’s no reason for us all to stop arguing and disputing and talking nonsense over stuff we only half understand anyway. It’s just that sometimes we need to stop and think,
“If I carry on down this road, where’s it going to lead, and will I regret taking it?”
Troll,
Huh!
My “speech” wasn’t aimed at you anyways.
It was a general speech.
You just provided the intro.
btw you can contact me through DV. He has my email address.
But if you do, choose your moment carefully.
PS
I hain’t got pointy ears……
ATW does not operate on fresh air! We have running costs and if you want to give us a hand, once a year, then HIT THE TIP and feed the beast that is our hosting company!
You do not defeat terrorism by rewarding terrorists, regardless of how many bleeding heart liberals argue otherwise. Want to know where that flawed approach leads to? Read UNIONISM DECAYED 1997-2007 - It's my first book and it explains what happens when you seeek to appease terrorists and call it peace. It's available right now for ATW readers so make sure you get your copy by emailing the editor! This is the book that dissents from the herd mentality that doing wrong can lead to being right. It doesn't and this book spells out WHY.
Or you could have chosen this one…

How’s the book going?
ahh you better not even be contemplating leaving.
Look I ask you one question.
Why?
Politics doesn’t scare you, terrorists have never scared you, why now? What’s changed?
Is it us, the group?
Is it me?
If you are truly contemplating ending this, as a Friend which is a word I don’t use lightly.
I ask you, explain yourself.
Troll – that last photograph of yourself was clearly the final straw. Who could continue to run a blog that permitted such an offense against humanity on the internet?
Um, it wasn’t you. relax.
I have two quotes for you
“My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today”
“He fought because he actually felt safer fighting than running.”
You choose
I chose this one.
“My Chief Rabbit has told me to stay and defend this run, and until he says otherwise, I shall stay here.”
Good Lord, someone has been reading too much Watership Down and sniffing too much glue.
I didn’t think it was me, but Have you ever tried giving up coffee? This site is my coffee, and if david is shutting the doors he needs to explain why.
You have been here a long time to my friend.
LOL
aint it great the things that just pop into your head? God I never did anything harder than pot and booze…. just think what I would be like on drugs….
George
Honestly you don’t think he would actually quit, do you?
Patrick

there are times we all cross the line. I honestly hate and love you all.
