THE NEXT LEADER OF THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY?

By David Vance On August 2nd, 2012

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, is frequently touted as the next leader of the Conservative Party. Here he is, trapped on a zip wire, at the Olympics yesterday. If this is what British “Conservatism” looks like, spare me it.

  1. On a certian ‘unmentionable’ news channel this a.m. Boris was described as akin to the illegitimate nephew, twice removed, of Louis XVIth.

It was part of a critique of the Games as being an elitist excercise to keep the peasants happy while the economy was going to hell in a handbasket. One of those ‘While Rome burns, Nero fiddles’, sort of things.

Of course they may well have been recommending a return of Madame Guillotine…

  2. This will increase Boris’s popularity amongst the X-factor voters and there are more of them than of discerning people.

  3. I saw this and all I could think of was the who’s Boris the Spider

  4. Not the only Conservative MP I’d like to see hanging from a wire 😉

  5. I despair.
