YOU GOTTA PAY FOR THE WINDMILLS…
By David Vance On August 7th, 2012I loathE the windmills that deface our green and sometimes pleasant land. Worse, I loath what is will cost us all to appease the Green brigade;
Britain’s ‘obsession’ with wind farms will push up family electricity bills by more than £300 a year, a report claimed today. The Government’s green energy plans for the next eight years are a £124billion ‘blunder’ that will hit every UK household, a senior British economist has also said. In a stark warning Professor Gordon Hughes, who has produced a study on how wind energy will hit energy costs, said that British consumers simply cannot afford to subsidise wind power.
I would love to see every windmill knocked over, they are monstrous carbuncles, an utter scam. Yes I know some people are making a fortune from putting them up care of generous existing subsidies. That is also a disgrace, Let’s ensure all subsidy is pulled from these 21st century abominations.

“Let’s ensure all subsidy is pulled from these 21st century abominations.”
Wellll,
Can’t we put it off until I’ve received enough (subsidised) payments to cover the cost of my investment..
I only bought one for it’s aesthetic appeal and,
on dull boring days when there’s nothing on television, I sit on a chair and watch it go round, whilst talking to the goldfish….
Actually,
it goes deeper than that. We signed up to the EU 2009 Renewable Energy Directive
http://www.livosenergy.com/wind-turbines/renewable-energy/#.UCERWXLh4vg
as a direct result of the Kyoto Protocol on combatting climate change..

So I doubt the world’s politicians are going to pull the plug on this investment any time soon
Useless for generating electricity but first rate at generating taxpayer subsidies and therefore income.
Once upon a time in this country we used to have such things as water powered mills. Lots and Lots of them. It kick started the industrial revolution. Now water is much more suited to generating power.
Take the River Colne. In Castle Park there is Middle Mill, Water falls about a metre lots of water, consistently 24/7 sometimes a great deal of flow. Is any of this vast amount of potential energy actually used? Nope.
Why not? Much more reliable then the Eco Crucifix’s to the Gaia Cult.
Out of fashion..we prefer windy stupidity.
Why is this thread still displaying one comment when I posted my comment yesterday at 1:06pm, before Dogis….?
