GROWING THE ECONOMY

By David Vance On August 7th, 2012

Well, just HOW is Arlene Foster and Ministry of Truth gang getting on rebuilding our economy? I mean they have had 6 years now…so let’s catch up;

“Almost 11,000 jobs have been lost in the private sector in Northern Ireland in the past two years, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers report. Its Economic Outlook report predicts the Northern Ireland economy will shrink even further this year. It said Northern Ireland’s economy was lagging behind the UK as a whole…”

Remember, come the next election, if you want Jobs, vote DUP?

  1. What are the main private job engines there now? Which ones have promise going forward?

  2. Sign painting around the border ;)

  3. Hmm

I guess no one has interestbin this one!

  4. Phantom

Retail is the main private sector employer in the north with Tesco as the biggest employer after the British government. The British pay the public service and the diole and the money gets spent in Tesco is essentially how the economy is kept on life-support.

Southern shoppers looking for bargains is the only dynamic element and as the euro heads for parity with the US$ that flow may well reverse again.

  5. They need a plan.

  6. Phantom,

They need a plan! – something similar to this one perhaps?

‘while the president of the United States was pumping and dumping Facebook stock.’

From an article reviewing the latest IPO crookery…

  7. You are sounding rather Allenish today.

Can you advise what you are talking about is, and what your source is?

  8. WE have a problem with the ownership of the supply of money and credit. We can fix the problem. But it is Taboo to address the source of the problem and how to fix it. The Taboo is actually an indicator of the truth of the problem. Everything is put in our path of discovering what this problem is, but when you discover it, it just becomes so obvious. If I reveal the problem I will be censored. No politician or leader has the courage to talk openly about it. The problem is omnipotent and omnipresent and it has dramatically increased in hegemony since the end of WWII when the last people who tried to fix the problem were brutally raped and genocided. Many bad and false things have been said about these people and their leadership. They have been accused of a big big crime that they ,in fact, never committed. If I tell you what it is, I will be arrested. If we don’t fix the problem, we and are children are really, really screwed big time because the problem is alot more sinister than our tribal minds are able to fathom.
I have the strength and courage to address this problem openly. But it seems I am the only person in Ireland willing to do this. This really hurts and confuses me. I am proud of my family, my tribe and and race. I cannot understand why my fellow kinsfolk are not, and why they attack me, and why they take the side of the problem. I admit, I am hurt, and isolated, but I also know that I have no other choice but to continue on this path.

  9. Enough about the economy, what about these sign posts on the border?!

  10. How appropriate that Arlene is potographed outside the Titanic building. This will be the latest white elephant drain on the taxpayer. But it is kept in the public sector and run by civil servants, as is our “water service”.

Sell both of these off to the private sector and give enterprise a chance. The water infrastructure needs replacing within 20 years. At the present rate of investment it will take 100 years. But of course the politcians don’t want to get the blame for the (unavoidable) water charges. Much better to tell lies about free lunches and get the applause.
