Well, I listened to the liberal media going into predictable hyperdrive this evening, expounding the collective wisdom of the Iraq Surrender Study Group. Part of the Fabulous Baker Boy’s report cravenly urges engagement with Iran, as heavily leaked in recent days. Rather than me comment on Baker’s odious report, maybe all those appeasers out there should reflect on Ahmadinejad’s most recent words.

Talking of Iran’s enemies (The US and Israel in particular) he says…

They are angry with our nation. But we tell them ‘so be it and die from this anger’. Rest assured that if you do not respond to the divine call, you will die soon and vanish from the face of the earth. Thank to God’s help, we have gone all the way and are only one step away from the zenith. We hope to have the big nuclear celebration by the end of the year (March 2007),"

Good luck with the dialogue James, it’s 1938 all over again.

  1. It’s quite amazing how middle eastern leaders will be openly aggressive and viciously hostile to the West when speaking in their native tongue to their minions.

I’d like Dinnerjacket to say that to Bush to his face.

  2. What is the source for that?

  3. linked Frank.

  4. Is it still 1938? This is turning out to be the longest year in history.

  5. Indeed, Hugh. But it’ll soon be 1939 again.

  6. DV, I think the whole thing’s pretty ironic and I feel bitter that so much British blood spilled only for us to end up going cap in hand to countries who probably had a hand in spilling it.

Do you have a credible alternative though?

I’m not suggesting Baker is right. I’m just wondering what other ideas are on the table. I’ve already plumped for flooding the country with troops and then partioning it, before withdrawing as soon as decently possible. It may be a unworkable idea for all I know but I’d like to know what other suggestions there are because, of course, we can’t carry on like this.

  7. Gary,

As an American, I also object to the Study Group’s recommendation that the US go "cap in hand to" Muqtada al-Sadr whose militia has killed many US soldiers.

  8. Alan – we agree!!! Although you are probably not prepared to go that extra step:

We should have killed al Sadr at the beginning. Oh well. Maybe he’ll have a little accident or something.

  9. Bush is still president and the group did not claim to present a magic formula for victory. Hopefully when combined with the departure of Rummy we’ll see some alternatives or at least fresh thoughts from the administration.

  10. And another thing, the focus on the madman of the moment does little good. Take out al-Sadr and some other raghead rises up.

  11. "We should have killed XXX at the beginning"

Just about sums up this nest of murderous hate inciters. Tick tock.

  12. You are opposed to killing murderous terrorists?

Doesn’t surprise me. The fact is – we are going to have to kill them all. Every single last one of those murderous terrorists are going to have to die.

  13. >>>The fact is – we are going to have to kill them all.<<<

    apparently there are alternatives.
