Two dead Islamist militants found inside the Algerian gas plant were Canadians, an Algerian security source said today. Algerian special forces discovered the bodies at the In Amenas facility, where the combined death toll of hostages and insurgents rose to 89 today.
The source said documents found on them had identified the two militants as Canadians as forces scoured the plant following Saturday’s bloody end to the crisis. An official Algerian source said previously that the group behind the attack had comprised Arabs, Africans and also people from outside the African continent. A report in Norway’s Aftenposten also said one of the attackers was tall and white with blue or green eyes, spoke English and read the Koran.
The skin colour has no relevance. The Nationality has no relevance. They read the Koran, they seek to kill. WHY?

Now THERE’S a surprise.
No one considers for one moment that the peaceful colonisation of the West by Muslims might be seen as an OPPORTUNITY?
Because they are gits!
The fact that skin colour and nationality can not be relied on is why we can’t put all our eggs in the “profiling” basket. Terrorists know to use people who won’t fit the profile.
No doubt Mark Steyn will have more than a few well chosen words to say about this.

I will stick my neck out and predict that the two Canadians will prove to be of Asian, perhaps Arabic backgrounds.
Don’t use the word ” Asian ” in this context.
Asia is home to some of the great civilizations on earth.
Using it in the wildly limiting sense that the British do – Muslims from India and Pakistan – makes no sense at all in 2013. It is an insult to the Asian continent.
Our race categories are illogical and look like they were produced in a hurry!

Not trying to bust balls, but I know a lot of Asians here, of Chinese, Japanese, Korean extraction, and to the extent that they use racial terms ( rarely ) they’d use the term Asian often enough.
In this era, it is an unintentional slander to use that term – Asian – only to refer to the peoples of only one part of the vast continent, often in the context of situations that involve problems in Britain.
In your press, the term seems to be used as a gymnastic exercise to avoid use of the term Muslim.

No I am not trying to avoid the term Muslim (extremists) but in the UK we tend to refer to those of Muslim Pakistani descent as Asian, but as you suggest should perhaps more accurately be called Muslims from the Indian sub-continent.
Now get off my balls.
This term has become part of the PC Lexicon as a way of avoiding the M world.
Don’t let them control the language.

I hope so too mairin2, but I doubt she will as for some reason girls tend not to take to ATW verbal cage fighting. We had a girl (not literally
) named Sarah who posted a couple of times and disappeared. My own wife is not interested in ATW and every now and again she gives me “the look” when she thinks I am spending too much time here!
I wish more females would join us. I believe women are the civilsers, whether they be Canadian Americans or Swedish Aboriginals….
