THE MILK OF HUMAN KINDNESS?

By David Vance On February 18th, 2013

The health bullies are at it again only this time a “Charity”.

Formula milk should carry much larger ‘cigarette-style’ warnings that breast is best, a leading charity says today. Save the Children wants the messages to be big enough to cover at least a third of the packaging. Its proposal would apply to the UK and other European nations as well as the developing world. Campaigners claim, however, that the advice will only pile guilt on mothers who want to breastfeed but are unable to do so.

Save the Children are a particularly annoying fake charity and this idea to treat formula milk as if it were akin to tobacco is outrageous. This is essentially BULLYING women into breast feeding and making them feel guilty if they can’t/don’t want to.

  1. Crazy.

  2. Someone make it stop.

Please, just 24 hours without some parasites demanding more regulation to keep them in a job.

  3. Breast surely is best?
It is from the mother that the baby imbibes all the antibodies, hormones etc that will help that child develop immunities and also help mother recover from childbirth.

If a new mum can’t breastfeed or finds it uncomfortable then she makes a choice to feed formula milk. But that can never give the advantages that mother’s milk can.

It’s the same with caesarean births. There are certain processes which are triggered by the natural birth process that a caesarean bypasses.

I am not saying that formula milk or caesarean births are wrong, but those of you who believe in Convolution must accept that humans like every other living thing have developed in a certain way. Those birth processes are far more complex and important than simply deciding which is more comfortable or convenient.
The real problem here is the commercialisation of everything. That is what puts women under pressure. She is bombarded with all sorts of advertising just when she is at her most vulnerable.
The whole thing should be a matter for the mum to be and her doctor/maternity unit, not the sales department of some company.

  4. boobs good, bottle bad…. lol

  5. Troll,
The milk’s good and it comes in a very attractive and “touchy feely” container.
What more could young Dwight wish for? ;)

  6. I’m surprised women aren’t screaming bloody murder over this idiocy.

Some can, some can’t and some choose not to breast feed – all that matters is the baby gets plenty of proper nutrition.

  7. and some believe they should do it until the kids can ask for it and longer.
