Put me down as unpersuaded in this Syrian chemical attack story. It seems to have started this week with Israeli General Itai Brun claiming that victims foaming at the mouth is proof of sarin gas use. It might be proof of shaving cream as far as I can tell, or is it toothpaste?

The US, which had denied having any evidence of chemical weapons use in Syria, suddenly ran with it. Predictably, Cameron has a red line for intervention which has been crossed too. Fancy that. Haven’t we been here before?

  1. Likewise, I am very sceptical. After all, the jihadists in Gaza and elsewhere have, by carefully staged ‘disaster’ photo ops, been assiduous in deceiving the gullible media, who promptly blame the blameless. At the present time, there seems no reason to suppose this incident is other than a set-up. Even the Obama administration, so supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood as they are, feels it has to admit the evidence for an Assad atrocity is extremely shaky.

From Independent’s “Man whose WMD lies led to 100,000 deaths confesses all: Defector tells how US officials ‘sexed up’ his fictions to make the case for 2003 invasion.” In retrospect, the corporate-media has no problem admitting the insidious lies that were told to justify the invasion and occupation of Iraq – the lead up to the war was another story. A verbatim repeat of these admitted lies are being directed at Syria amidst the West’s failure to overthrow the government with terrorist proxies.

It is a repeat of the lies told in 2003 and as recently as 2011 when Libya was invaded.
