How to “Speak Democrat”

By ATWadmin On June 22nd, 2008

Representative T. McCotter (R – Michigan) offers a primer in speaking  Democrat .

At 2:20:    "Diplomacy" in Global Democrat  means "magic" in plain English.  Used in a sentence:

"Democrats will protect America from Iranian nukes through tough, principled diplomacy"  actually means "Democrats will protect America from Iranian nukes through tough, principled magic."

  1. Maybe Congressman McCotter will take his rock band to play Iran as he did to Iraq to continue his modern day Nero ways.

  2. Mahons: Yes, he is entertaining. He really nailed the meaning behind the meaning with Democrat-speak.

    I also liked this one:

"engage" when used by the Democrats means "appease" In a sentence:

"Democrats will engage America’s enemies" in plain English translates to "Democrats will appease America’s enemies."

    OR

"end" when used by the Democrats translates into plain English to "lose"
    In a sentence:

"Democrats will end the Iraq War" translates into plain English to
"Democrats will lose the Iraq War."

  3. It’s an interesting reflection on his listeners, or on how he thinks himself, that he feels he has to say everything twice.

And even then he can’t get some of them right:

    e.g.

" And this is my favourite one: ‘THE RICH’ means ‘YOU’

For example: ‘Democrats will only tax the rich’ equals ‘Democrats will only tax you’"

And he does go on and on. Although to be fair to his listeners, he doesn’t get even a murmur of laughter for what he thinks is great political wit.

It’s all a good example for us non-Americans of why Republicans are in a minority in the House, and why they are likely to stay that way in November.

  4. Funny as it may be to some of us, it’s pretty sad that this is the level that debate has fallen to. And I say that as a supporter of Mr McCotter’s party.

  5. Noel: "to be fair to his listeners, he doesn’t get even a murmur of laughter for what he thinks is great political wit."

To be fair to the speaker, he’s not trying for laughter among his colleagues in the House. He is speaking on C-Span and for the benefit of the public TV audience; he is shedding light and clarity on the Orwellian Double-Speak Democrat Platform for those who might not follow politics 24/7.

When I first heard Obama say that he would deal with Iran with "tough, principled diplomacy" I remember thinking "what the hell is that?"

Now I know…Obama’s "tough principled diplomacy" is "magic."

  6. Noel – What Patty hints at is correct, there was probably almost no one listening to him "live". Congressman often give these type of self-congratulatory speeches to an empty chamber, but it is filmed. This Congressman is one of those who obviously is more concerned with partisan politics than sending troops into war. It would be funny if it were not true.

  7. Mahons: "more concerned with partisan politics than sending troops into war"

Actually, I think he’s more concerned with truth and clarity than the cliched bromides that the Democrats – and Obama in particular – are so fond of.

Obama, and the Democrats, would have us believe that their "tough, and principled" diplomacy is somehow different? How so, I ask? What will they do that the UN hasn’t tried? That the BUsh Admin. hasn’t tried.

It”s helpful to translate the Democrat empty platitudes into plain English.

Well, helpful for anyone who isn’t a partisan Democrat.

  8. Mahons

"This Congressman is one of those who obviously is more concerned with partisan politics than sending troops into war. It would be funny if it were not true."

you mean like the democrats that all swore in 98 that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction When BC was having dress stain problems, but now deny it, the same ones that voted after 9-11 again to give the President authority to wage whatever was neccesary to defeat terrorism, then accused him of violating the constitution, the same ones that then voted to cut funding to troops in the field, the same ones that said over and over that the surge has failed and Iraq is embroiled in a civil war, while all benchmarks have been met and even the sunnis are turning in al-quada and are know part of the system, the same ones that said Bush lied and our soldiers died as they cut funds for bullits and armor,

those partisons? oh no thats right those were the democrats

  9. Troll – please provide me with the affidavit of any Democrat in Congress who "swore" what you claim.

This guy is a clown whose using the threat of confict purely for his domestic political agenda. Until you can recognize the weak links among the Republicans you’ll continue to have no credibility.

  10. Mahons: "Until you can recognize the weak links among the Republicans you’ll continue to have no credibility,"

    said the partisan Democrat.

  11. Patty: I’ve hit various Democrats more accurately than you’ve been able to, from Obama, to the Clintons to Nncy Pelosi. It is only your manifest ignorance that prevents you from understanding that fact. You are a sad sad robot, incapable of independent or original thought. Have a nice day.

  12. Mahons here is your Democrat testamony

  13. Mahons: hmmmm……your 2:59 tells me that I’ve hit a bull-eyes when I call you a partisan Democrat.

    If the shoe fits, Mahons….

Troll: It’s sweet of you to provide Mahons with a history lesson, but I’m pretty sure he’s not open to any facts which don’t fit his preferred narrative.
