JUST HANGING AROUND……

By ATWadmin On December 27th, 2006

795151-536769-thumbnail.jpgSo, Saddam is to hang within a month following the rejection of an appeal against his death sentence.

Good.

I know it is a harsh thing to welcome the imminent death of any person, no matter how evil, but Saddam dead is a better proposition than Saddam alive. I imagine the MSM will have a international day of mourning when this monster swings – but for those hundreds of thousands of families whose next-of-kin he ordered slaughtered, justice will be done and seen to be done. And THAT is the point – in this morally relativist universe, justice DOES need to be seen to be done.

That is why, for example, I would like to see mass murderers like the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, hanged. Indeed it would also be good if the terrorist godfathers who have commanded the IRA for decades, and whose indentities are well known, were also hanged by the neck. As a society, we have become soft, unable to face up to the fact that those who deliberately take life, forfeit their life. In exchange for our squeamishness, we allow far too many killers to get away with their dark deeds. Saddam will not be quite so lucky.

  1. I know it is a harsh thing to welcome the imminent death of any person, no matter how evil

Its the Christian thing to do Eh Dave.

  2. It’s called Justice, Subby. I take no delight in his death but I believe justice will be done when this evil man swings. Liberals can moan all they want, I wonder how long before we hear "Saddam dead is more dangerous than Saddam alive" and the rest of the tripe that some spew forth on this one.

  3. As per usual submariner you have no cogent argument to present just your usual snide comments.
Any chance of you having the courage to give your real name or are you really a comic book character ( after all your contributions to this blog are certainly amusing).

  4. I am against the death penalty in this country because the bar would have to be raised to a level where guilt and intent are established beyond any doubt. Furthermore, it is clear that the left would be wanting ‘Nuremburg-type trials’ for their own imaginary crimes such as producing CO2, fox-hunting, voting BNP etc.
However, in the case of Saddam, he is special because he is guilty beyond any doubt of mass murder – he can hang.

  5. I am against the death penalty in this country because the bar would have to be raised to a level where guilt and intent are established beyond any doubt

Heaven forbid that someone would have to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt before they were strung up what must our courts be thinking of.

I was tinking it strange that an alledged christian the religion of peace and forgiveness would delight in the death of another Human being.

As for the name i post under it has more to do with my profession than a comic book.

  7. When you say Saddam dead is better than Saddam alive does that mean that violence will subside after Saddam’s death? Or are you considering Saddam in isolation without looking at the more important realities in Iraq?

  8. Speaking of death, Moonbatreturns, you should go to
    http://atangledweb.squarespace.com/httpatangledwebsquarespace/why-the-death-penalty-is-just.html

and see the comments where Aileen says:

Good job Adrian isn’t about !

  9. Moonbatreturns (Hi Adrian!!)

No, it means JUSTICE will be done.

  10. moonbatreturns are you Adrian ;). If so ignore Alan’s comments.

  11. it has more to do with my profession

Is submariner a euphemism for sewage worker?

  12. Aileen,

If it IS Adrian and he is still in India (cloistered or not), he should be asleep by now. Anyway, his profile makes reference to Adrian Mascarenhas.

  13. While I’m on this thread, can someone tell this confused Yank what a "Free" Presbyterian is? Where I come from, that would be the following at no charge:

    PRESBYTERIAN
    # a. Highball glass, filled with ice
    # b. 1 oz. Bourbon
    # c. 1/2 fill with Ginger ale
    # d. 1/2 fill with Soda
    # e. Stir, if desired
    # f. Lemon twist garnish

  14. Alan David is one so it is propably best that he explains it. It is Ian Paisley’s church.

  15. Allan posted:
"it is clear that the left would be wanting ‘Nuremburg-type trials’ for their own imaginary crimes such as producing CO2, fox-hunting, voting BNP etc."

Allan, you left out reading the Daily Mail and voting Tory 🙂

  16. We may joke about it now, Peter, but a link to such a demand by a leftist outrider for Nuremburg-type trials for oil company directors was posted on this site. Very soon, there will be death penalties for being a white infidel in a muslim area where sharia is imposed.

I’m sure that there would be more crimes to add to that leftist death list

  17. Of course this ignores the inconvenient fact that it’s the left that opposes the death penalty and the right which wants to restore it!

  18. Is submariner a euphemism for sewage worker?

No its a euphemism for Submariner.

  19. Alan

I forgot to say that that didn;t sound very Presbyterian to me. – more loke one of us decadent anglicans 😉
