THE BREXIT BILL IS THE BREXIT LAW

By Pete Moore On March 16th, 2017

The Queen today signed the Brexit Bill into law. The Prime Minister, finally, can notify Brussels that we’ve called a cab. Like most statute laws, it begins thus:

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows …

This is because Parliament is only an advisory body, and the sovereign power to make law resides in the sovereign monarch. As the embodiment of the sovereignty of the people, the monarch is the source from which the law claims its authority.

  1. //This is because Parliament is only an advisory body, and the sovereign power to make law resides in the sovereign monarch. As the embodiment of the sovereignty of the people//

She signed into law the EEC Act in 1972, the Single European Act in 1986, the Maastricht Treaty in 1992 and the Lisbon Treaty in 2007, and now Brexit in 2017.

So it is the British people who are totally schizophrenic or only Her Majesty?

  2. Pete is a big monarchist, which is eccentric as hell and OK by me.

There used to be an incredibly detailed website dealing with the history of all the British kings and queens etc but I can’t find it any more.

  3. The Monarchy has to go. These in-breds would have signed away the entire country had it not been for Brexit.

  4. They haven’t wielded any political power for a long time.

You’re angry at the wrong people.

  5. Phantom – if The Queen had publicly said ‘no’ to handing over more power to Brussels without a plebiscite, do you believe that there would have no political repercussions? That’s political power, and The Monarchy is so much part of the pro-EU establishment that no monarch would have used it. And now, with the Brexit vote, the Queen won’t dare refuse because this time, the people spoke.

  6. It’s not the Queen’s role to influence such things.

    Those days are long gone.

  7. This is interesting so I’ll put it here and see if anybody makes a thread of it:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/08/30/chemotherapy-warning-as-hundreds-die-from-cancer-fighting-drugs/

Patients should be warned about the dangers of chemotherapy after research showed that cancer drugs are killing up to 50 per cent of patients in some hospitals.

For the first time researchers looked at the numbers of cancer patients who died within 30 days of starting chemotherapy, which indicates that the medication is the cause of death, rather than the cancer.

The study by Public Health England and Cancer Research UK found that across England around 8.4 per cent of patients with lung cancer, and 2.4 per cent of breast cancer patients died within a month.

  8. Her Majesty reigns but does not rule.

  9. which indicates that the medication is the cause of death

Not necessarily. It depends on what stage the cancer patient comes to treatment. That’s not to say that chemo is not very tough on the body.

  10. Nobody cares about this topic either.

Investment bankers, Polish immigrants and Putin might be the exception.

  11. Millions in GB care.

Here majesty may not rule, but she is much more than just a figure head. One more step has been taken to solidify Brexit.

The squealing of the Political class has only just begun.

  12. Spicer accused Obama of using GCHQ to spy on Trump today.

    !!!!!

The white house is dumpster fire of massive incompetence.

  13. Very interesting revelations about the fancy general Flynn also

This guy was going to be the national security advisor? After taking money from RT/Russian government?

Trump and Pence sure had a great vetting process

  14. You left Nazi allied Gorka, out of Trump’s nasty mix, Phantom.

  15. ಠ_ಠ

Trump’s DOMB Mick Mulvaney says Meals on Wheels “not showing any results.”

    For fuck’s sake.

A successful conservative public/private partnership initiative to feed housebound elderly people is on the Trump budget block to be defunded because it’s not showing any results?

Other than elderly people without family being fed by volunteers who make and deliver the meals.

Not sure what results this heartless bastards prefers?

Starving old folks to death perhaps?

  16. I am watching this afternoon’s press briefing and Sean Spicer is losing it

He is working for the devil. Can’t be a fun job

  17. Congratulations to Brexit! Hail Britannia!

  18. Way to go hijacking another thread to blame The Russians.

Russians are the New Hitler it appears.

  19. This guy was going to be the national security advisor? After taking money from RT/Russian government?

but it was no Problem that a woman that took millions from the Russians was going to be president.

    you damage your credibility everyday.

  20. What about this and what about that

You should move to northern Ireland, they will give you some sort of medal for your championship in this category

And your statements continue to be completely wrong. You are below the Mendoza line for logic futility at all times. Hillary didn’t take money from any Russians. You fell for Lying Levin’s lies again.

Flynn wasn’t vetted. He took money from the propaganda Russian government controlled RT television channel and he acted as a lobbyist for the Islamist government of Turkey. He broke laws, and Trump/Bannon did not care and you don’t care either because you lick Trump’s boots here daily.
