IS RACHEL RIGHT?

By ATWadmin On November 19th, 2007

Wonder what you make of this interesting article from Rachel North – a survivor of the Jihad attacks on the London Underground on 7/7?

In essence she does NOT support the additional security measures that UK PM Gordon Brown is planning and I think she makes her argument fairly eloquently. However in one regard she is totally wrong – in my view we DO face a threat every bit as challenging to our lives and liberty as that faced in 140 and this time the enemy are within the UK as well as being outside. Islam threatens the civilised world in the same way as Nazism threatened it in 1940. I do believe that Government has a role to play in protecting it but it refuses to acknowledge that Islam is the problem and as I have asked before; how can we win a war when we deny we are at war?

  1. David,

I don’t agree that the challenge of today is on a par with that posed by Nazism. Nazism had the power to enslave Europe, I don’t think that’s true of Islamists.

I don’t think Muslims living among Britons are a problem. What really bothers people is the seeming inevitability of the rise in the Muslim population. That sense of it being inevitable is because instinctively people know that there are too few young people around so they have to be imported. And, at the same time as the population of W. Europe (& elsewhere in the west) is aging and declining the population in poor Muslim countries is exploding. These migrating Muslims are merely moving to fill a vacuum created by westerners.

That some of these young Muslims (or the off spring of earlier immigrants) hate the west is obvious, but they are a minority. They are a violent, intimidating, murderous minority, but a minority.

Should we do all we can to exterminate this murderous minority, of course. And by we I include those Muslims who are not interested in living in a Saudi Britannia. However, the long term ‘threat’ of Europe being Islamicized can only be countered by a change in the policies and behavior of Europeans so that the population vacuum is filled. Or we have to hope that the Muslim countries adopt similar policies and behaviors so that they no longer have so many surplus young people.

The Muslim ‘threat’ (and truthfully I don’t feel that threatened by it, slightly uncomfortable, but not threatened) is self-inflicted. I don’t blame Muslims for this because it’s the westerners’ fault, not their’s.

  2. "Is Rachel right?"

    No

  3. I agree that we do face a threat, but, directly in the UK it is probably more on par with, murderous workings of the Deputy First Minister of Northen Ireland and his Nationalist Socialist terror squads than with German Nationalist Socialism. On global scale the threat is great, from the twisted ideology if not military.

The scale of the physical threat in the UK is confused by new labour desite to talk it up to scare the population into relinquishing civil rights to the state. While at the same time they talk down the ideological threat for selfish electroal and PC reasons.

  4. "I agree that we do face a threat, but, directly in the UK it is probably more on par with, murderous workings of the Deputy First Minister of Northen Ireland and his Nationalist Socialist terror squads than with German Nationalist Socialism."

That’s a colourful analogy even for your standards, NRG!!

"..That sense of it being inevitable is because instinctively people know that there are too few young people around so they have to be imported"

Native brits know that its ruinously expensive to breed in a high tax, sex-egalitarian economy. But breeding costs for imported muslims are low – before bringing ideology into the picture. There is nothing "inevitable" about the economic distortions that generate divergent reproduction rates. They are avoidable, if we confront the problem.

But we won’t. So I agree with you; so does Mark Steyn.
    We’re doomed.

PS Maybe Global Warming/Climate change is the answer. We’ll all fry together!

  6. Eagle,

I agree with you on one point, Islamism is not on par with Nazism.
however, i then disagree as i think it’s a lot worse, most nazis didn’t want to die, most islamists don’t care as their prize will come in the afterlife.
unless something very radical changes in their religion soon (unlikely to happen as the word of god cannot be rewritten), then the problems will accelerate.
and before you get too comfortable, this cantury looks as though it may be more dangerous than the last, russia is rattling it’s sabres, china is feeling it’s powers and there are people like chavez who have power through oil.
if we sit and think they’re all going to go away without conflict then we’re lost.
    have a nice day.

  7. ooops… should read "this century"

  8. Ya – the fanatic religious ideology and willingness to meet the virgins sure adds another dimension doesn’t it?

I see by several comments that the problem is not recognized by most, and Tripper & Peter haven’t even started! lol.

It’s AGW that’s the big threat. We need lots of government regulation to get that under control.

  9. … most nazis didn’t want to die, most islamists don’t care as their prize will come in the afterlife

    Frakked

I agree that most Nazis didn’t want to die, but most Islamists do. However, the percentage of Germans who were Nazis was far greater than the percentage of Muslims who are Islamists. Or, I should say, to distinguish between Germans and Nazis before May 1945 is senseless because willingly or not (and I say more willingly than Germans like to admit to today) they all served the state.

That’s not true of most Muslims. They can choose not to serve the Islamist cause. However, they can be subject to threat and intimidation, which they (with our assistance) must resist.

I think the percentage of Muslims who want to die in pursuit of some Sharia utopia is very small.

  10. "in my view we DO face a threat every bit as challenging to our lives and liberty as that faced in 140 "

140? Would this be one of the Roman invasions of southern Britain perchance David? 😀

  11. Mr Burns,

My keyboard is giving me huge problems – going to have it repaired!!!

  12. Extra security and bag searches at Railways stations is utterly pointless. Most extra security announcements and tough new detention laws are nothing but an exercise in spin. Let’s be seen to do something and make it visible is the message .

There is only one way to defeat clandestine terror groups. Quiet effective infiltration and intelligence gathering ,everything else is floss.

  13. Colm,

    Lambeth Walk

I went to all that trouble – and you are darned well going to view it…:-)

  14. Eagle…

not sure how many Islamists there are in the world, but even if it’s only 10% (and i feel that’s a low estimate)…. that’s 150,000,000 worldwide.

    recommend this clip from al-jaz….

    http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/1600.htm

a hell of a lot of them seem to want sharia, and despite the sense spoken by the guy in the suit, he’s a minority.

to follow islam you have to follow the koran… it decrees allah as the only god and for true followers we have only three choices :- convert, submit or die!

  15. Thanks ernest, that was enjoyable. Sorry I didn’t go back to the thread where we were talking about that . I can’t even remember which thread that was. That’s one of the frustrating things about responding to comments on a thread that has fallen off the radar. very often good late contributions are missed because the crowd has moved on and the post has dropped off the ‘top ten’ list.

Thankfully the Nazis never did get to do The Lambeth Walk for real.
