  1. So, I’m not the only one up during the night, Nice post Patrick, apt for these fun times we live in
Is it just me or are we on our way to hell in a basket with no brakes. I’m pressing but they just don’t work……

  2. Life is good and it’s getting better. Think optimistically and happiness will follow 😎

  3. Hey Steve, I’m usually up in the middle of the night sorry I missed your comment. I don’t sleep and it’s usually just me and occasionally Phantom bouncing around at that hour.

I think the master cylinder is cracked we keep pouring brake fluid in but it just leaks out….

The glass is halfway Colm whether it’s half full or half empty depends on whose winning the game.

  4. Who’s the quote attributed to Pat?

It’s interesting In the sense that I wonder what learning history ‘correctly’ entails?

(No doubt the usual non Holocaust suspects will be shouting the odds on this one at some point).

  5. A fictional character in the future

  6. Just remember no one gets out alive, so enjoy your time on this side of the grass

  7. Amen

  8. The grass is always greener on the other side 🙂

  9. Let’s learn what happens when free speech is censored…….

James O’Keefe’s undercover crü got Twatter employees to admit the company shadow bans, reads your private messages for crimethink, bans pro-Trump accounts outright, “downranks” thought criminals, and in general uses machine learning algorithms to censor political viewpoints at odds with the views of Twatter’s Bluehair and B1ndi Brigade.

In the latest undercover Project Veritas video investigation, eight current and former Twitter employees are on camera explaining steps the social media giant is taking to censor political content that they don’t like.

Sounds like a bunch of immigrants who hate America and want to control our speech. Sickening.

Whoa! Big brother in real time… It’s notable that almost none of these “engineers” appear to be American born & bred.

A whole load of Indians and middle-easterners have been imported to implement a political censorship of conservatives in the US.

  10. Let’s learn what happens when free speech is censored

You mean like when Fox censors discussion of climate change?

  11. you can’t censure what doesn’t exist…..

  12. //The grass is always greener on the other side 🙂//

Brilliant! I’m going to use that.

I think the quote is meaningless. There is no “correct” was to learn history. History is constantly being revised and reinterpreted in the light of the changing information available, different social perspectives and improved knowledge of the situation at the time.
People generally forget that we know (or at least are able to know) more about the past than did people who lived at the time.

Also, learning history is always a good idea but never necessary. History doesn’t repeat itself. And a happy people will live for today and tomorrow, and can be prosperous and at peace without bothering about the past.
In fact, a society that dwells on the past is usually not a happy or peaceful one.

  13. Peter – I posted aerial images of the border of Haiti and the Dominican Republic and I invited comment from ‘environmentalists’ though none were forthcoming. You don’t really care about the environment though you’ll use it as a means to signal virtue

  14. you’re wrong Noel there is a correct and a wrong way to learn everything….

  15. Here’s my modest contribution to this thread:

    Adios European Union.

  16. Eddie.

    All religions are child abuse.

  17. Talking of Europe..

What part of “your sorry arses belong to ze Germans now” do the Greeks not get?.

    BREAKING: Athens in chaos –

Police fire TEAR GAS as protestors hurl petrol bombs
GREEK police have fired tear gas at protestors demonstrating outside the parliament building in Athens.

Thousands of people have been outside the building today to protest planned austerity measures.

The Greek government is also considering reforms which would limit the rights of workers to strike.

The Parliament building in Athens is located in the centre of the capital.
