IN WHICH I PRAISE IMMIGRANTS

By Pete Moore On March 10th, 2018

So I had the motor serviced and MOT’d this morning. Anyone of my age at least remembers when these things cost a fortune. Getting your car done would send you halfway to bankruptcy.

Not anymore for me, because for the last few years I’ve been going to a pair of Polish mechanics. They set up shop in London, near where my parents live. They’re open round the clock. They work hard. Drive by at anytime and the doors are open, the lights on. They’re decent and pleasant. It’s always a smile and a welcome. And not only do they not rip you off, they charge bargain prices.

You have to book the motor in a couple of weeks ahead because they’re so busy. But hey, people who do a good job for a good price are busy. So I dropped the motor off at 9.00am and picked it up three hours later, serviced and MOT’d for less than I paid years ago.

I hope they’re making a load of money.

  1. Well done Pete. I get my car washed by (I think) Romanians. They charge £5 for about 15 minutes of hard work, and the results are always excellent.

The prime site was empty for years, but it seems that no locals could be arsed to set up a car-wash business.

  2. That’s your Free Market for you right there.

  3. I’ve always marveled at the way immigrants come to this country with a dollar in their pockets, set up a private business, and in 10 years own the neighborhood. Hard work still pays off.

  4. If I need building work done my first preference will be a Polish tradesman every time.

  5. Peter, I assume that’s in Belfast? Where?

  6. I managed the blokes who built my brother’s house in Poland. I know Polish delivery drivers, HGV drivers, warehouse staff and I know Poles who grow and package alot of the cut flowers for the UK market.

They’re like machines. They turn up on time, work hard, get the job done. Every day.

It’s a testament to the destructive power of communism that it could make a country full of Poles unproductive and poor.

  7. They’re like machines. They turn up on time, work hard, get the job done. Every day.

As it should be with everyone.

    Agreed to an extent.

  8. Here Putin says it’s the Jews fault……

  9. Paul

Shore Road, near to the Abbey Centre.

  10. Cheers Peter.

The Shore Road also has one of the best chip shops in Belfast.

  11. One error made by the EU was that opening up borders to other Europeans made us realise that they are Europeans – just like us. The others, however, are not…….

In Vienna, a 23-year-old Afghan child fleeing the Syrian conflict stabbed several people because he was unhappy:

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/03/08/afghan-asylum-seeker-admits-vienna-stabbings-bad-mood/

The 23-year-old Afghan asylum seeker who was arrested in connection with the stabbings of four people Wednesday night in Vienna has confessed to the attacks, saying he stabbed them because he was “in a bad mood”.

The man was arrested Wednesday night after two separate stabbing attacks in Leopoldstadt, the second district of Vienna.

Can anybody claim that the influx of Afghans has improved their country?

  12. This mass-murder attempt in London last year was carried out by an Iraqi “asylum-seeker” who showed his gratitude to Britain by signing up for Jihad:

“An Iraqi teen on trial over the Parsons Green bomb confessed to making the device and leaving it on a train when questioned by police 24 hours after the attack. Thirty people were injured after an improvised device filled with screwdrivers, nuts and knives partially detonated during rush hour last September on a Tube train at Parsons Green station.”

  13. Pete, are you praising the poles because they’ll do the job quicker and cheaper than the UK equivalents? Basically, you’re just happy to exploit them.

I worked in Poland for over two years, and I found the Polish people to be pretty similar to those in the UK and other countries that have also worked in.
In my experience, most people are hard-working. And that includes UK workers.

  14. Dave Alton –

I take their skills, labour and time. In return they take my money. We trade. There’s no exploitation.

  15. Pete.

My comment to you was partly tongue-in-cheek. However, a great many Poles and other immigrants are exploited on the UK job market. I watched an interesting program about it recently.

  16. That’s a shame. If we were in the EU then no-one would be exploited. Remainers are clear about that.

  17. Whatever the circumstances or political system, certain people will always exploit other people.

  18. Most of the hardest working employees I had were immigrants, and to head allan off at the pass it didn’t matter what their skin colour was, they showed up and went to work, they had ambition and a thirst to advance

  19. Probably the reason that the EU wanted to make it compulsory for all cars to be maintained by authorised dealers. Big business comes first, particularly German big business.

  20. Probably the reason that the EU wanted to make it compulsory for all cars to be maintained by authorised dealers

Is that claim legit or an urban myth EP? I can’t find anything to verify it.

  21. EP

Pqrobably the reason that the EU wanted to make it compulsory for all cars to be maintained by authorised dealers. Big business comes first, particularly German big business.

It was the car manufacturers who wanted to make it difficult to get your car serviced at a garage other than an expensive main dealer. They wanted to make the Warranty invalid if you didn’t use their approved dealerships.
From what I read, the EU actually stopped them doing this and said that as long as the car was serviced at a qualified garage, then they had to honour the warranty.

That is most certainly the case with Landover, if you even change a bulb, and use a cheaper bulb from Halfords, it can affect the dealers warranty, or any extended warranty.

  23. and to head allan off at the pass it didn’t matter what their skin colour was, they showed up and went to work, they had ambition and a thirst to advance

Sure EP- those Somalis that you took on must have been as good as any Poles, Britons or Germans that you worked with.

The reality is that EP’s bullshit is just bullshit. If these darkies had been what he claims, the shitholes that they come from would not be shitholes. As Plato stated……

This City is what it is because our citizens are what they are.

That explains Germany, Norway, the anglosphere – and Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan…..

  24. Then explain Aberdeen if you are one of its citizens

  25. The Poles were coming to Ireland in droves back about 15 years ago when I was resident there. They are decent hard-working people (well maybe a little naughty after consuming Vodka). The Irish farmers treated them like lots of American farmers treat the Mexicans, both legal and illegal……LOUSY. They use to pay the Poles below minimum wage, put them up by the dozens in inadequate housing and then charge them half the inadequate wage as board. Simon Legree tactics. I’d take one Pole over 100 Muslims, or Irish folks any day.

  26. Back about 15 years ago when I was resident there.

    Ireland’s loss.

  27. I’d take one Pole over 100 Muslims….

    But think of “Ireland’s loss”:

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/03/11/mirror-revealed-police-failed-act-1000-girls-beaten-pimped-raped-even-killed-40-years-britain-worst-grooming-scandal/

Victims told the Sunday Mirror that the abuse — which is said to have begun in the 1980s — carries on to this day, and notes that police failed to investigate one recent case five times before a Member of Parliament directly intervened.

“I hated what was happening and my abusers made my skin crawl but I was told that if I said a word to anyone they’d come for my little sisters and tell my mum I was a prostitute,” said one 14-year-old victim, whose phone number had been sold to paedophiles.

“Night after night, I was forced to have sex with multiple men in disgusting takeaways and filthy houses.

“I must have been getting the morning after pill from a local clinic at least twice a week but no one asked any questions.

“I fell pregnant twice and had two abortions. Hours after my second termination, I was taken by one of my abusers to be raped by more men.

“The worst moment came just after my 16th birthday when I was drugged and gang-raped by five men.

“Days later, the ringleader turned up at my house and told me he’d burn it down if I breathed a word of what had happened.”

This is what is going on in all of Britain’s cities. It appears that the fathers of these thousands of girls just don’t care and are more interested in their football teams

  28. As I said on another thread, Telford is going to dwarf the Rotherham paki child rape Atrocities.

Telford along with Rotherham, are just the tip of a very large iceberg heading our way, once again we have whistleblower’s being sacked, shut up, and ignored.

The police once again we’re made to feel more frightened of their own shadows for fear of being branded “racists”.

Political correctness, liberalism, and multiculturalism, has utterly failed

Sheffield will possibly be the next big one to come out.

But the list is getting longer…

‘Conspiracy of Silence’: Britain’s Towns Where Girls Were Raped by Muslim Grooming Gangs for Decades

Newcastle has joined a list of British cities where grooming gangs, made up of predominantly Pakistani Muslim men, systematically rape and abuse vulnerable, white girls.
A nationwide pattern emerged after the first prosecutions in Rotherham, and then Rochdale, where a “culture of silence” and political correctness led to inaction by authorities who feared being called “racist”.

  29. But think of “Ireland’s loss”

Indeed. Ireland’s loss that Eddie left and Ireland’s loss that you were never there.

  30. Ireland’s loss that you were never there.

I’ve been to Longford several times as I explained, and had a week in Dublin in 2012. Ireland gained!!

  31. Talking of Ireland.

    I’m shocked…shocked I tells ya!.

  32. In an exclusive interview with Breitbart, a resident of Lisdoonvarna, Michael Walsh, had much to say…

…[The asylum seekers] are starting to come in this week. The hotelier who had publicly said ‘if the people of Lisdoonvarna don’t want this I won’t sign the contract’ has signed the contract. He’s now weaselled back on it.

  33. Harri – when a politically-connected millionaire hotelier with a criminal record wants money from the dupey Irish taxpayer to destroy an iconic Irish village, he gets that money by whatever means necessary. Embedded within Harri’s link:

    http://www.clare.fm/podcasts/contracts-signed-lisdoonvarna-direct-provision-centre/

Contracts Signed For Lisdoonvarna Direct Provision Centre

    6th March 2018

A contract has been signed to allow for the opening of a direct provision centre at the King Thomond Hotel in Lisdoonvarna next week.

Despite there being a 93% vote against the opening of the centre, hotel owner, Marcus White, has confirmed that the hotel will begin taking in asylum seekers and refugees very soon.

  34. It looks as though Lisdoonvarna is going to get some of the Telford-treatment. This is what they do, everywhere. But think of what Ireland could have lost if Marcus White hadn’t bought whoever needed to be bought?

  35. Lisdoonvarna is going to need a bigger post office.

115 baby machines doctors, nurses, and engineers all queuing up for their ill-gotten gains “benefits” on a Monday morning, is going to cause mayhem.

  36. I’ve been to Longford several times as I explained

Based on the shifting sands of your conveniences in previously supporting your opinions I simply don’t believe that.

  37. It’s all too late.

The horse has bolted, the rot has set in.

Great Britain, along with most of Europe, are well and truly fucked.

  38. Ooops!.

    Wrong thread.

  39. Paul – I shall re-state. I have visited Longford several times and the reason why is below. Unfortunately, with the Cameron factory closing (they made ‘chokes’ – pressure-control equipment for wellheads) I will have no reason to return. Now – do you believe that?

    Allan@Aberdeen, on February 28th, 2018 at 10:23 PM Said:

I’ll have far fewer visits to the RoI even after the oil industry picks up – and it’s a pity because Longford was quite a place though there was a definite ‘darkening’ going on:

    https://www.irishmirror.ie/news/irish-news/cameron-factory-longford-close-loss-8986033

Cameron factory in Longford to close with loss of 170 jobs

The firm said in a statement that “the oil and gas industry is going through the most severe downturns of the past 30 years

Jobs out: blacks in – and no Irishmen here (plastic or real) have any problem with that.
