  1. “Tear down this wall – we promise not to send troops to your borders”

Army Staff Sgt. Jason Shick, left, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist with the 82nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, teaches Danish soldiers from Vidar Company, Guard Hussars Regiment, how to use an M249 light machine gun during a multinational weapons training session as part of a rapid response readiness exercise in support of the Atlantic Resolve mission in Tapa, Estonia, March 10, 2018

News for Jason – the Atlantic is far away from Estonia, and Russia is next-door

Kim needs to trade de-nuclearisation for removal of US troops from Korea.

  2. Allan we put our troops anywhere we want whenever we want, and nobody can stop us if we choose it to be so.

  3. Patrick – once again, who is this ‘we’? The post at 9.54pm shows exactly why NK must be very careful in dealing with an entity that reneges on its deals. I still don’t doubt Reagan’s sincerity but those senior to him had a wider agenda, and Trump will be used in the same way. A former President who learned of it said…….

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

…….and it was a warning to his successor who said…….

“For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence–on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.”

and he wasn’t meaning communism for communism was never highly efficient as we now know. “Its dissenters are silenced”, as was he.

So who is this ‘we’ because it certainly doesn’t include you, or any American at ATW, or anybody whom you know personally.
