STAND DOWN, MEN

By Pete Moore On January 11th, 2019

The American Psychological Association (APA) has released guidelines that teach psychologists working with men and boys that “traditional masculinity is psychologically harmful.”

The same bunch of cranks that came up with thousands of reasons why crime is supposedly not the fault of criminals have concluded that men should look and behave like Liberace. Courage, aggressiveness, risk taking, determined problem solving, and masculinity in general, they say, is toxic and “harmful” to us all.

I can’t wait for them to discover that they only exist because their forebears were more masculine than the competitors they killed along the way.

Pretty sure they didn’t. There report indicates that men are a diverse group and pigeon holing all men into one narrow group is not healthy. That bottling up your emotions for fear of being perceived as weak is not healthy. That traditional attitudes as to what it means to be a man have led to a sizeable increase in negative health outcomes for men – including substantial increased rates of criminality, violence and suicide.

  3. Aah Seamus, you really shouldn’t deflate Pete’s Big Man sized cheek especially with his tongue planted firmly in it. Harri on the other hand….. 😉

APA : Being a woman who thinks she’s a man is OK.

APA : Being a man that thinks he’s a woman is OK.
