Back in Black

By Mahons On February 2nd, 2019

Someone finally has a more damning yearbook than Brett Kavanaugh. At least Brett Kavanaugh was only three sheets to the wind instead of wearing a sheet.

Virginia’s Governor Northam is facing calls for his resignation for a yearbook photo in which he has admitted to being a student in blackface or the student in a Klan robe in a photo of two students in what may have been from a Halloween party in the early 1980s.

How no one ever mentioned it before is presently a mystery. Stuck be a rock and a hard place he hasnt identified which one he is, but he’s hugged the third rail. He is in sufficient denial to think he can still serve as Governor, as Republicans, Democrats and Presidential contenders call for his head. I doubt he makes it to sunset.

It is rather ironic to note the Democratic side is attacking him as if he was George Wallace’s zombie returned to eat brains. These are the same people who were silent when he essentially ADVOCATED infanticide last week. His career in the military, as a doctor and a rising star in politics will not save him.

The opportunity to denounce bigotry in a cotton state is cotton candy to the crop of Democratic candidates. Each denouncement needs to be more extravagant than the next. Candidate Harris said prejudice can not be allowed to stain the halls of goverment. Ok, sure. Was he going to wipe his blackface on the walls of the State House?

A roman candle of a political death, ignited by the Governor decades ago. Physician, you can not heal thyself.

  1. Mahons,

Nice title! It’s interesting that of his comments about infanticide and wearing blackface in high school, it’s the latter that is more damning in our society.

  2. sad but true Charles

  3. I don’t know if that’s the case Charles and always found that kind of ‘condemnation of A is dependent of condemnation of B’ as a bit of a false narrative.

I also don’t know if you can base such claims on what’s written on a blog, e.g, as I’ve explained before I’m pretty pro choice but personally absolutely disagree with the extension of time limit although I didn’t comment on it as what happens in a southern American state isn’t really applicable to where I live.

  4. It’s never a good day for you in American politics if the public can’t decide if you’re the one under the Klan hood or the one wearing blackface. Marry this with the fact that he condoned infanticide a few days before, and you have a governor on the way out. I don’t think this Democrat is going to be able to “slip the noose”!

  5. I’ll lay odds he does….. He’s a Democrat.

If he was a Republican he’d be gone already.

  6. Patrick

You may be right. I just read that he vows to carry on as usual. What a twerp!

  7. Back in black
    I hit the sack
I’ve been too long I’m glad to be back
    Yes, I’m let loose
    From the noose
    That’s kept me hanging about
I’ve been looking at the sky
    ‘Cause it’s gettin’ me high
Forget the hearse ’cause I never die
    I got nine lives
    Cat’s eyes
Abusin’ every one of them and running wild

    AC/DC (of course)

  8. Charles – it is my fondest wish that you wrote that from memory.

  9. Mahons, I almost got it right, but I needed a little help!

  10. lol

  11. An honorary Young brother.

  12. The former Louisiana Governor Edwards once said at a press conference when asked about his randy life that he only had to worry if the voters found out he was in bed with a live boy or a dead woman.
This Northam seems to have exceeded that.

  13. Can an elected Governor be made to resign ? Is there an impeachment process for State Governers ?

  14. On the bright side, Allan has now found a democrat that he likes

  15. Colm

Each state has its own rules, but a quick search shows that governors have been impeached before

I might imagine that Virginie has such a process, I would speculate that it would be run by the legislature

  16. Mahons

It’s a good thing you didn’t use the title “Going Down”! 🙂

AC/DC is a little secret from my misspent youth.

  17. Colm

There is an impeachment process in Virginia

  18. Thanks Phantom.

  19. Phantom

It’s interesting that your link mentions that the Lt. Governor of Virginia is black. It would be some sort of karmic justice if he came to the governorship through the resignation of Northam.

  20. Yes

To swim against the tide a bit – I don’t necessarily think that he was being racist

Insensitive I guess, But I don’t exactly see racism here

  21. To swim against the tide a bit – I don’t necessarily think that he was being racist

Actually, neither do I. I was in College those years as well, and the fraternities were always holding questionable, Animal House like parties. Never went to one though. It may have been just stupid peer pressure to conform to the group.

Like I said, I’m more outraged over his infanticide comments as governor than pictures from 40 years ago.

  22. He is apparently going to claim now it wasn’t him or that he has no recollection of it being him. Who among us can recall if we wore a Klang outfit (quiet Allan) or wore blackface and posed for a photo that we featured in our yearbook?

  23. Good post, Mahons. and good comments the thread.

Dressing as a zombie doesn’t actually make you a zombie and dressing as a KKK clansman doesn’t actually make you a clansman…even if you are a Democrat! lol. I don’t actually give a damn what ill-advised costumes he wore in college. This whole brouhaha is another illustration of why politics suck

The disgusting infanticide comments, however, are another story, entirely.

  24. Well said Patty.

  25. Yes

  26. Its not -just- politics

It’s blacks pretending to be offended about a perhaps insensitive goofing around by young people, and Democrat and Republican politicians and the media going along for the ride

The media here are uniformly referring to this as a “ racist incident “

If this guy is such a racist, he must have have committed many racist acts throughout his lifetime. I’d like to see a list of these incidents.

On the radio now, Some rent a protester was quoted saying that the governor had to resign so that the process of “healing “ could begin. What a load of hogwash.

  27. True Patty. Frankly a Governor discussing killing infants is far more worry some than some college kid acting stupid.

  28. Left-wing political theater has boomeranged.

Or, worse, maybe these people obsessing over everything politically incorrect or off-color are serious?

I am now understanding in a small way how Mao’s Cultural Revolution reached the fever pitch of insanity that it did.

  29. The photos were on Northam’s medical school yearbook page. He likely supplied them. It does not matter if he is in them, it is his yearbook page. He should have resigned immediately with explanation and apology. Now the Democratic party will force him out and he will eventually go with his reputation destroyed. His ‘godfather’ Terry McAuliffe has called for his resignation.

It amazes me that Northam did not long ago confront this and make some type of excuse like someone dared me to do it and I stupidly did. If he had done that he would not be in the no-win position he is in today. Could he be so foolish to think this would never surface?

  30. I don’t actually give a damn what ill-advised costumes he wore in college. This whole brouhaha is another illustration of why politics suck

The disgusting infanticide comments, however, are another story, entirely.

Yep. The costumes aren’t even a problem, in my opinion. Not while Che Guevara images are chic anyhow. But it’s instructive that some are outraged at the old costumes and not what he advocated recently.

  31. Pete: Agree.

It’s disgusting that so many care so much about this black face costume nonsense and yet care so little about his comments promoting late term abortion and even abortion after birth (after making the baby “comfortable” ).

Who are these barbaric, evil people?

  32. Democrat Joe Biden weighs in: “Governor Northam has lost all moral authority and should resign immediately, Justin Fairfax is the leader Virginia needs now.”

    Got that?

Northam didn’t lose moral authority when he advocated from murder of the just born, but lost moral authority because he was photographed wearing an ill-advised costume in college.

    Wow. Just. wow.

  33. It’s also disgusting that so many in the USA oppose abortion in all circumstances and are determined to ban it completely.

  34. These people the progressive left….. the product of 50 years of our higher learning centers being run by and courses taught by people who believe in a dogma not based on reality or history.

Diversity, Political Correctness, and Socialism have been their guiding stars the results are coming to fruition.

  35. For the ‘progressive left’, a cankerworm is more important than a live baby – and I’m not joking

The Democratic Virginia delegate who has recently come under fire for sponsoring a bill in the Virginia House of Delegates that would allow the termination of a pregnancy up to 40 weeks old, is also the chief patron of a bill that would protect the lives of “fall cankerworms” during certain months.

Democratic Virginia Del. Kathy Tran introduced “House Bill No. 2495 – Fall cankerworm; spraying prohibited during certain months” on Jan. 9, the same day as “House Bill No. 2491 — Abortion; eliminate certain requirements.”

Todd Gilbert (R): Where it’s obvious a woman is about to give birth…would that be a point at which she could still request an abortion?

Kathy Tran (D): My bill would allow that, yes

Tran’s other piece of legislation aims to protect insects such as “gypsy moths” and “cankerworms.”

According to Virginia’s Legislative Information System, House Bill No. 2495 is:

A BILL to amend and reenact § 15.2-2403 of the Code of Virginia and to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Article 1 of Chapter 9 of Title 15.2 a section numbered 15.2-926.4, relating to cankerworms; eradication; prohibition on spraying during certain months.

  36. ………the product of 50 years of our higher learning centers being run by and courses taught by people who believe in a dogma not based on reality or history.

    It’s termed Cultural Marxism……

By corrupting the educators, Frankfurt Marxism secured its ascendancy over the elites. Education, the media, publishing, politics – all the commanding heights have been occupied by the cultural Marxist forces of anti-civilisation. The targets are vestigial Christianity, traditional institutions, national identity, the family – seen as an intolerable rival to the intruder state – and relations between men and women. The instruments of subversion are mass immigration and multiculturalism, to abolish homogeneity and national identity; the imposition of politically correct language (foreseen by Orwell as “Newspeak”) to prevent the articulation of dissident ideas; hate laws (also predicted by Orwell as “thought crime”); feminism, designed to alienate women from traditional motherhood and family roles; and promotion of the homosexual agenda (because anti-family). The introduction of “aggravated” offences has ended equality under the law.

    And the result is this……

A photo showing a 10-year-old Canadian drag queen posing next to a half-naked adult performer sparked outrage online. But the boy’s mother thinks it’s all OK and the child is not overtly sexualized.

    and this……

There’s a new line of underwear on the market, and it’s helping ‘transgender’ boys as young as five hide their penises.

“Tuck Buddies” were created to be a “comfortable underwear option for transgender kids.” The product is designed with an extra layer at the front to “provide a bit of padding and coverage for young trans kids.”

“My five and a half year old trans daughter has pretty much always presented as a female,” one customer said. “As an infant everyone assumed she was a baby girl.”

“Around five, after transitioning, she really started noticing her penis more, and complaining about it ‘bothering her in all kinds of different ways.”

  37. The Biden quote is especially hypocritical. In 2010 he eulogized Senator Robert Byrd who had been actively in the KKK.

  38. Uncle Joe wants to be Prez…..

  39. But the KKK already have their POTUS. They endorsed Trump, son of a Klanner and a nailed-on racist.

  40. Robert Byrd I believe apologized for his KKK past

Al Sharpton has never apologized for his many racist incidents

And he is a king maker in the Democratic Party of New York state and nationally, More connected than anybody

  41. //his comments promoting late term abortion and even abortion after birth (after making the baby “comfortable” ).//

Did he say that? That’s pretty rough.

It’s weird how long the US has been pulling itself apart on the abortion issue.

  42. Noel, yes he said that. Pretty disgusting.

  43. Byrd made many strides to disavow his past and make amends but some stains can never be washed away whether guilty at your heart or innocent. Being a Klansman is one of them.

  44. This KKK (ooh, scary) thing is an absolute joke. If the jew-owned FBI hadn’t infiltrated it to the point that it’s just a branch, they would have started it themselves.

  45. Well you guys support the son of a Klansman

    So have fun with that

  46. I have to laugh Phantom the fact that this carney barker is president is going to leave permanent scars on you…… breathe deep the gathering gloom and just watch the show once in awhile.

  47. I’m only reporting the facts

Fred Trump was arrested at a Ku Klux Klan rally in Queens New York.

Fred and Donald Trump were involved in a number of racially tinged incidents, wat more than Byrd was

  48. Byrd was active in the Klan, it was no Halloween moment for him.

  49. Worst case of TDS I’ve ever seen! Sadly, there is no cure, lol.

  50. http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Al+Sharpton/Hillary+Clinton+Addresses+National+Action/YHpWAceaq4z

Al Sharpton was involved in two race riots where Jewish people were murdered. ( Crown Heights, Freddy’s ) as well as the hugely divisive Tawana Brawley hoax, When an innocent police officer was accused of rape

Yet he Remains a revered political kingmaker in the Democrat Party

If you vote Democrat, you vote Sharpton.

Every contender for the democratic party nomination will kiss his ring

  51. Michael Moore says on Fox that AOC is now the de facto leader of the Democrat Party, and that there is no longer room for moderates. Is this true?

  52. Sharpton is far worse than Northam on racial issues. And immune.

  53. Its mostly true

She knows nothing, but she is the spiritual head of the Democratic Party now

She is in everyone’s head now

  54. Charles – moderates seem to be diminishing 8n both parties.

  55. Yes the bomb throwers rule

  56. Look whose name appears first

  57. Phantom

    Wow! Clinton’s role usurped by a no-nothing. I guess it’s true.

  58. She has great charisma

She stands out, she really is the shiny object

I’d think that many establishment Democrats Are afraid of her, don’t know what to do with her

  59. couldn’t ask for a better gift than AOC or Northam and Cuomo
