  1. The human species evolves in strange ways. Other species evolve strictly to strengthen the survival of their particular species. It’s seems our unique ability to reason has resulted in developing an evolutionary process that substantially weakens that survival ability.

  2. Sad but true….. today JFK would be considered a tea party conservative.

  3. And Nixon would be considered a RINO.

  4. On a serious note it is part of our culture that people are becoming famous for being famous. AOC’s rise is much like Trump’s.

  5. except she won’t get as far…… we hope

  6. Nixon was to scary to ever be considered a RINO, but his domestic policies were exactly that.

  7. AOC is different. She isnt atypical standard ugly boring unsexy old fart politician like most of them. She is a breath of fresh air. If you were wandering around the House and got trapped in a broom cupboard with a member which one would you prefer ? 😉

  8. It’s not easy to say How one who died so long ago would react to today’s environment

But it’s very hard to see JFK being at home in the pro handout/ pro illegal immigration / identity politics driven Democratic Party of today

But it’s also hard to see him being in any way comfortable with. A Republican Party that is under the spell of an unprincipled and utterly dishonest reality show guy who doesn’t believe in our international alliances, who befriends those who are still our enemies, who disrespects friends who have done no wrong.

“ Ask what you can do for your country “ is not something that any members of the base of either party believe in any more. The Democrats want free stuff, that’s a given, But the Republican base is no better. They for decades have wanted want their own free stuff ( wars for fun, farm subsidies ) but they don’t want to pay for it via tax.

JFK was a pro America, pro NATO, pro growth intellectual who asked people to sacrifice, one who did not pander. I know of no one in modern American political life Who fits this description.

  9. I agree except with this one part.

“ Ask what you can do for your country “ is not something that any members of the base of either party believe in any more.

I disagree. I believe that exists on both sides of the aisle it’s just not called on by any politicians anymore.

  10. JFK would be thrown out of the Democratic Party of today

    They’d hate him

But generally he would have damned little in common with Beto, Cortez, Sanders, Gilibrand, Harris…or Trump.

He’d have a little in common with say the anti communist Marco Rubio..or hate to say the interventionist Hillary Clinton

  11. A totally different frame of mind from then till now.

  12. //THEN AND NOW….//

    Or how about this……

  13. beside this ??

  14. If JFK were around today he’d be a left-liberal, because politicians easily conform to the zeitgeist.

The actual JFK, if he were around today, would be derided as an alt-right nationalist. This is a measure of how deep radical-left nostrums have seeped into our societies. There are remarkably few – hardly any – politicians in the UK or US who are truly conservative.

  15. In the good old days David would actually articulate an argument here at ATW. Now he posts internet memes.

  16. This is what happens when you become Iran’s ally Russia’s fuel controlled puppet….

MUNICH (AP) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel robustly defended European nations’ decision to stand by the Iran nuclear deal in a spirited backing Saturday of her multilateral approach to global affairs, but U.S. Vice President Mike Pence promptly accused Europe of once again undermining the United States.

Merkel’s comments at the Munich Security Conference, an annual gathering of top global defense and foreign policy officials, followed days of tensions between Washington and Europe over Iran.

  17. The Europeans have a different opinion on this

I don’t think that this has anything to do with fuel dependency

The fact that they are American allies does not require them to agree with Trump on all matters.

His highly disrespectful attitude to them has minimized any influence that he may have had on the matter with Europe

  18. The Democrats want free stuff, that’s a given, But the Republican base is no better. They for decades have wanted want their own free stuff ( wars for fun, farm subsidies ) but they don’t want to pay for it via tax.

Exactly. See Trump’s tax cuts for millionaires which have added trillions to the US government debt already.

  19. Pat I know this goes completely against your blinkered view but just consider for once that turnip is on the wrong side of history when it comes to the Iran deal.

Every one including American intelligence agrees that Iran is honoring the agreement

  20. EP consider this he’s not……

Iran should have been put a stop to in 1979, and their day is coming.

  21. they celebrated the 40th Anniversary just the other day…. we should have provided the fireworks.

  22. we should have provided the fireworks.

Yes Patrick, nuke them. You know you want to and Bolton is your man. Aided by Bibbi.

  23. This is Senator Chuck Schumer addressing AIPAC, and saying loud and clear that God made him a guardian of the wall – Israel’s wall, not a wall that would protect the US, but Israel which is clearly his priority. This should be made compulsory viewing for all white dupes in the US:

As a US Senator, he should be the guardian of the United States of America or move to Israel.

As a US Senator, he should be the guardian of the United States of America or move to Israel!!! Should Israeli Dual-Citizenship’s be allowed in the US Government? Is it AOK to have a Russian Dual-Citizenship, or how about a China Dual-Citizenship?

  24. JFK – ” Ask what you can do for your country “
Trump – “Ask what your country can do for you”

  25. Literally correct

Refused to serve in the military, despite being an athlete at that time, etc

  26. //JFK – ” Ask what you can do for your country “//

Senator Schumer – ”Ask what you can do for Isr’il“
