AltNewsMedia made headlines around the world today when The Sun reported our exclusive insight into the choice of name that Shamima Begummade for her new baby.

Here is what we originally tweeted…

In further good news, the UK Government has contacted the Begum family and told them it is revoking the claim of their Islamic State terrorist daughter to British citizenship.

AltNewsMedia now understands that the REASONwhy the Home Office has taken this decision may be because – (get this) – she was solely a Bangladeshi citizen at birth!

The new ruling certainly suggests so.

Her Wikipedia page says that her father only moved to the UK in 2007, when she was around 8.

Now, if her mother had only recently moved to the UK and was still a Bangladesh citizen, then Shamima Begum would have been a Bangladesh citizen at birth (ie 2 Bangladesh parents).

So in that case, she would have acquired UK citizenship a few years later through residence

“Begum was born to Bangladeshi parents in Tower Hamlets, East London, England in 1999. She was largely brought up by her mother Shahnaz Begum until 2007, when her father, Mohammad Uddin, moved to Britain. She grew up in a two-bedroom council flat in Bethnal Green. Begum is her parents’ only child.”

It is that acquired UK citizenshipthat is being revoked by the Home Secretary.

So in summary Shamima Begum was (most likely) solely Bangladeshi at birth (ie acquired UK passport years later). At birth, her father was in Bangladesh, and mother probably only Bangladeshi. This means she can be prevented from returning to the UK. Our “loss” is going to be Bangladesh’s “gain”!

As you can see, Sylhet district looks charming this time of year.

Bye Bye Islamic State monster.

  1. Keep them coming David, damn good.

  2. Ah, that explains a lot.
I wish the media would get important facts straight.

  3. As you can see, Sylhet district looks charming this time of year.

You’ve obviously never been to Tower Hamlets DV 😉

Good news indeed and well done on the scoop. This is a relief.

  4. Maybe the half a million people who signed the online petition in three days had something to do with the Hone Secs astonishing good sense and speed . Now we have to see off the bleeding heart liberals seeking to let in the monster.

  5. Now we have to see off the bleeding heart liberals seeking to let in the monster.

These bleeding heart liberals, are far more dangerous, than any dopey wannabe Jihadist could ever dream of being.

  6. It looks like the legacy, non good MSM may have had it right after all?

Bangladesh is contesting the claim that Shamima Begum is a Bangledeshi citizen:

Shamima Begum is not a Bangladeshi citizen and there is “no question” of her being allowed into Bangladesh, the country’s ministry of foreign affairs has insisted, setting up a clash with the UK after Sajid Javid’s move to strip the teenager of her UK citizenship.

“The government of Bangladesh is deeply concerned that [Begum] has been erroneously identified as a holder of dual citizenship,” Shahriar Alam, state minister of foreign affairs, said in a statement issued to the Guardian, adding that his government had learned of Britain’s intention to cancel her citizenship rights from media reports.

“Bangladesh asserts that Ms Shamima Begum is not a Bangladeshi citizen. She is a British citizen by birth and never applied for dual nationality with Bangladesh … There is no question of her being allowed to enter into Bangladesh.”

  7. What’s the betting she will end up coming back to the UK after all.

  8. Birtherism lives!

  9. Outstanding Peter.

  10. 😁
